Good day,

We are creating a group for Cab owners on the Telegram app. The purpose of the group is basically to leverage on each other's resources; like knowledge of the business, contacts of good mechanics and body shops, help each other with driver recruitment needs (rental or HP), car sale deals. etc but most importantly promote improvement, fairness, and share ideas...

By this act, we are multiplying our strengths so much so that even a newcomer in business won't have trouble starting because its a forum where he or she can ask questions...There is always an advantage in teamwork over working alone or in a smaller team. so if you are interested, chat me up on telegram so I can add you...

07020656762

have a great day

ps, the group is on the telegram app, if you don't have it you can download.

I'd like to encourage newbies and tenured transcribers who are willing to join the 9ja Transcribers on Slack should do so. There are privileges to it. Just to let you know, the traitor is right here with us and I know you. Continue flexing your fingers and I'll expose you...
Mention the benefits so that those at the back can hear you loud and clear.

I passed the test with 100% but my application was rejected after the exam. What's the way forward?
YangiB:

Sorry for the late reply, I don't frequent Nairaland quite often. If I can remember correctly, you need to pass that section with a 100 percent accuracy to be able to access the test audio. Try checking for errors in the quiz section and answer all the questions correctly, then you can proceed. Hope that helps, Casmiry.

I took the test twice before I was eventually accepted. You should do the same but with a different email address.

While taking the test the second time, take your time to go over the transcript. There are a lot of errors in it, you expected to spot and correct them.

I will strongly advise you guys to consider Fiverr.com There are thousands of services you can render there you just need to find the one that suit you.

If you don't have any skills you can buy course on Udemy for as low as 4k, learn it and start selling. Some people are complaining that Fiverr is tough but I know people earning thousands of dollars monthly. Heck, I was shocked when I saw a Nigerian whose Basic gig cost a whopping $500 shocked shocked shocked.

I saw another seller with over 80 orders on queue. And the least of his gig start at about $50 for a 3 day job which can be completed under 3 hrs.

Which courses do you recommend one should begin with?

What do you mean by buy a course? Is it synanymous to registering for a course online?

Yes, it is quite similar. But with Udemy you can see the course rating, read students' reviews and know whether you will get value for money.

After going through Fiverr and picking a niche, you'd need to learn it thoroughly. If you can find tutorial on YouTube then great, if you cannot, then find courses related to your niche on Udemy. Some are free, others you have to pay for. But just know that if you are determined enough, Fiverr can be a very stable source of income as long you don't violate their TOS.

Only you can answer that question. Are you a graphic designer, writer, web developer, social media manager, voice over artist (yes, the Nigerian accent is highly sort after on Fiverr), audio engineer, transcriptionist, etc. There are a thousand and one gigs you could sell on Fiverr, even I don't know them all. Do your research, pick a niche and learn it thoroughly. Then start selling. It may be difficult at first but when you start getting your Return on Investment, you will be happy you joined Fiverr.

Most people who join Fiverr will quit after the first few months when they don't make sales but only those who persevere and stick with it will benefit in the long run.

Hey guys, i have a question. Newbies on QAworld need to have their initial transcriptions reviewed before they can begin fully right? I transcribed two audios yesterday, the first was rated 2, while the other has yet to be reviewed. Does the review normally take this long.

Yes

Since one is rated already, you can continue transcribing if you get calls. But, I'll advise you tread carefully so you don't get kicked out. Study sample of passed transcripts and FAQ very well. Rushing to transcribe and make money should not be your ultimate aim now but producing good transcripts.

The site keeps showing me that my transcription is being reviewed, so i can't do anything but wait. My first transcription had really bad audio quality, the voices were just rising and falling anyhow, speaking together at once, it was just terrible. I did the best i could since i already picked it up. The second ones rating should be much better. I really studied the transcription samples, and the FAQ. I even have the FAQ opened in by browser, so i can refer to it if i get confused anywhere.

Sorry for late reply. I don't often come around here. If that's what the page is telling you then you can't do much about it. Just wait for the other one to be rated. Did you say your first transcript was bad and you went ahead to transcribe still? By doing that you'll be feeding your own kick out. Once your audio is poor or you have a feeling that you can't handle the call, please release it or if meant for flagging, then flag it. You aim now is to have a RQR of above 3. Happy transcribing.
