Can anyone help with any input on the below issue;
Accra sent request letter for a spousal sponsorship pr application that just got approved, however spouse arrived Canada few days before the Request letter was received.
Is sending a webform/email informing accra enough considering the turnaround time for request letter response as i do not think the passport can be sent via dhl to accra from canada.
Anyone ever experienced this please?

I think you can or they may tell you to send it to a CPC in Canada. Just contact them in any way you can.

Anyways, I'm here to solicit for information regarding marriage certificates in Nigeria. I am aware that this thread is the wrong one to post this, however, I am looking to leverage the wealth of information from the diverse contributors to this thread.

I recently got married during the lockdown at a Local Government Registry, followed by a church ceremony. The certificate issued from the registry bears "Intergovernmental Marriage Certificate". Shockingly, further checks on Ministry of Interior's website https://ecitibiz.interior.gov.ng/home/FAQ says's the following:

My question thus is, are marriage certificates issued by Local Government Registry's recognized by the Express Entry program, or do we consider recertifying our registry certificate with the Federal Ministry of Interior?

PS: I should add that the church, CAC, issued us their branded wedding certificate but I am not certain about its validity for immigration purposes.

(1) A friend wants to try this express entry process but she Just gave birth recently and isn’t with the baby’s father( she’s single not married) she wants to know how to go about it? She hasn’t collected her baby’s birth certificate yet and she wants to know if putting her surname on the certificate won’t have any issue with the immigration process concerning/asking about her baby’s dad??
(2) Will they ask for a consent letter from the child dad regardless of who’s surname is on the certificate? The guy isn’t in her life so she doesn’t want to even tell him anything about it, since it’s just her and her baby.
Pls so many responses will be appreciated �

Every child has a father. They would ask for letter of consent or something like that

Unfortunately, she will be required to submit a signed consent from the child's father approving of the child's relocation.

I wouldn't be so sure she needs any consent if she indicates in the birth certificate that the child is fatherless.

Afterall, what if the child was a product of rape or sperm bank?

She can put 'unknown' on the birth certificate if she's really sure she wants to cut the father out. Nobody will ask for consent from an unknown father.

She'll only have issues when getting passport from Nigerian immigration but if she insists that she doesn't know the father, there must be a way out. Maybe a letter from her father stove the child will answer her father's name.
