Because dicon built mraps now you think they can build combat jets??

Wawu!!

Can start with reverse engineering turbo-props too if that's easier to fathom.

Note the NAFSA Eagle, a turbo-prop light utility aircraft is been developed by the Air force, we saw the fuselage in 2018, that project's still ongoing
Chief of air staff Sadiq Abubakar did state that "The push for improved domestic capabilities follows Nigeria's success in refurbishing and re-commissioning several helicopters, fixed-wing turbo-prop aircraft, fighter and trainer jets, and aerial defense systems."

It all starts with belief.

Nobody believed in 2015 that Nigeria would become a net exporter of MRAPs.

If Pakistan, Serbia can build fighter jets, Nigeria will also be able to do so.

Abi oh, we can vividly remember those years, begging FG to buy hand me down MRAPS from America, second hand from eastern Europe, anything from anywhere to save personnel from soft-skinned death traps . It took the believe of a few Nigerians to point the way, showing what was possible, we all remember igirigi... we've come a long way abeg... Now, are we where we need to be, NO, as long as we still see personnel in active engagement riding soft-skinnies, we have a lot of work to do, but at least the work is now somewhere in a factory in kaduna not over the bloody seas. We might still have to import steel and aluminum but that too will come to an end very soon with the reactivation of ajaokuta and alcon.
so yes locally built fighter jet, for sure yes. Especially with the jf17 coming in, the Pakistanis show us the way.

Well, as earlier stated "its all in the mind" If a person believes they cant, then they will never, but if they believe its possible, then the rest is logistics. Note, for starters, I mentioned to replicate, i.e reverse engineering, not so long ago, some so called Nigerians were laughing at her attempts to develop MRAPs but I think we can all agree that we have a number of companies doing that now, DICON included.
The most difficult part of a jet aircraft is the engine, this can be sourced off-shelf, avionics sourced off-shelf what's left?
precision machining aluminum and steel to form the body can definitely be done in-house
hydraulic pipe bending, wiring, can also be done in-house,
hydraulic pipes for actuators, stabilizer motors, motor pumps, brake valves can also be done in-house, motors and pumps and be sources off-shelf
the point is to show that its possible. If engineers are already capable of overhauling, its not a great leap to reverse engineering. fact.

This is an intelligent output.

Thank you.

Presidential Executive Order 5. This order requires all 3 services including the Nigerian police must source equipment where possible locally.

Again, another intelligent post.

We used to beg to import MRAPs, used ones and APCs from America, China, South-Africa and the likes.

But today we demand answers when we see even 1 imported APC in the country. Is this not incredible. That Nigerians, and military watchers want answers when an APC is imported, look at the reaction when we saw the South-Korean APC pictured a few days back.

You can't count the number of armoured vehicles manufactured in Nigeria. There are some also still coming on stream.

More Azerbaijani equipment destroyed.

BMP-2 on fire

A spokeswoman for the Armenian Ministry of Defense, Shushan Stepabian:

Armenian army shot down 2 helicopters and 3 drones of the Azerbaijani enemy army, which started a new aggression on the demarcation line with the Armenian Republic of Artsakh early Sunday morning.

The enemy also bombed the capital, Stepanakert, and thus the military and political leadership in Azerbaijan bears full responsibility for the consequences of this action.

mehn, this one go rugged oh, reading that Armenia is accusing Turkey of transporting fighters from Syria into the zone, ready to battle Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan on the other hand also accused of having recruited mercenaries and terrorists from the Middle East.
Looks like this is one twisted plot with very many actors, all capable of causing serious damage.
Iran is calling for restraint on both sides, the fact that here are no diplomatic relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan makes this situation even more precarious.
Azerbaijan is 97 percent Muslim while Armenia is 97 percent Christian
Will this be another proxy war between Erdogan's Turkey and Putin's Russia, both men have been flexing muscle since Syria, Libya, both always supporting opposing sides... now this. This seems too close to home for Russia though, don't know if Putin will be able to contain this without it spilling over. Even though Armenia is 1/3 the Azerbaijan economy and population, Armenia always manages to bloody up Azerbaijan, due to Russia's backing. But this time Turkey's a bit stronger now since ottoman times, so we don't know if Erdogan will want to prove a point. But from the opening salvo, Armenia and Russia kicking ass right now abi?
and apparently they still hold on to the disputed territory called Nagorno-Karabakh now called the Republic of Artsakh albeit indirectly

I think they are standing by Armenia. Including the United States, Russia is by far the main backer of Armenia.

Russia won't allow Armenia lose Nagorno-Karabakh. They have deep historical ties, including with Azerbaijan, but Russia favours Armenia more.

Funny thing is Russia exports weapons to both sides.

The relationship between Turkey and Azerbaijan are cultural, they are both Turkic people, so they fact that Turkey is backing Azerbaijan is expected.

Turkey is over-playing it's strength though, taking on everybody in the region, including France, Russia and the US.

Let's see how this progress though.

Armenia is currently giving Azerbaijan a bloody nose, however Azerbaijan would respond.

Both militaries are evenly matched, have almost peer weapon systems, in some instances the same performance range, with no clear decisive advantages in most weapons systems, I think leadership , and training would determine the winner.

In the initialization of hostility between two nations, better to bloody your opponents nose as much as possible.

Then you fall back and prepare for counter attack.

Let the burden of retaliation falls heavily on the enemy.

With the videos coming out, Azerbaijan is currently wrecking Armenian positions, tanks and air defences using Turkish made Bayraktar drones. The drone has already proven itself in Libya, Iraq and Syria. NAF should really consider this for the proposed expanded drone fleet. Will be a serious force multiplier.

I read that report, however we all have open source information. There's really no new information he is providing.

There have been casualties from both sides however if we look at some of the footages released, the Armenians are doing better.

The photo below gives more credence to the Armenian claims. With armoured vehicles stacked like this, it would be easy to rack up considerable losses.

Drones from Turkey have been doing a fantastic job also, but Armenia has shot down 15 UAVs allegedly.

Today's modern armoured units cannot and should not go about without mid-range mobile anti-aircraft missile defence, and signal jamming units,it's just suicide.

Nice boat. But it is not worthy to be called a Corvette. At that tonnage and armament, it is a MPV (midshore patrol vessel) also known in Nigeria as Seaward Defence Boat (SDB).

It is just of similar class as the NNS Karaduwa. The difference is the missiles. For Nigeria, threat assessment means the Karaduwa has no missile. .

Great ship though.
