Nice boat. But it is not worthy to be called a Corvette. At that tonnage and armament, it is a MPV (midshore patrol vessel) also known in Nigeria as Seaward Defence Boat (SDB).

It is just of similar class as the NNS Karaduwa. The difference is the missiles. For Nigeria, threat assessment means the Karaduwa has no missile. .

Great ship though.

each country have its own classification , some will classified it as missile boats , or patroller , algerian follow russian classifications , for exemple there is a lot of small russian ships (less than 800t) classified as corvettes (ex: Nanuchka-class corvettes 569 t) ) . but yes for me to it shouldn't be classified as corvette

the weapons and equipments are also very important , some of nigerian OPV if they had heavier weapons suit (missiles ect) they will be classified as corvettes .

Yes, depending on the doctrine of your navy. That ship with missile in the Nigerian navy would be classified as a missile boat. Without missiles it would be classified as a seaward defence boat.

For me, I think it is a missile boat.

Today's modern armoured units cannot and should not go about without mid-range mobile anti-aircraft missile defence, and signal jamming units,it's just suicide.

With the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, it shows that military equipment needs to be constantly upgraded to deal with or keep pace with threats.

It also has shown that fancy carbines are meaningless in actual combat if you don't have heavy equipment in heavy numbers.

You are very correct, but Nigerian Navy does not use missile boat as a classification. We use Fast Attack Craft (FAC). So, that Algerian vessel in NN would be a FAC like NNS Siri Combattante class.

However, the FAC in NN doctrine is more powerful than that ship, in terms of weapons.

Both sides are suffering heavy losses.

Armenia is threatening to use the Iskander ballistic missile if Turkey intervenes with F-16s.

With the videos coming out, Azerbaijan is currently wrecking Armenian positions, tanks and air defences using Turkish made Bayraktar drones. The drone has already proven itself in Libya, Iraq and Syria. NAF should really consider this for the proposed expanded drone fleet. Will be a serious force multiplier.
going for the Turkish drone or any other drone for offensive capability would be a gross mistake.the buks and for sam systems in libya and Syria dealt with those drones, coupled with the Mig 29.

Turkey's dream of reviving the Ottoman empire would be erdogen greatest undoing.
I believe if not that Russia is pushing to sale the Su35 and more s400 to Turkey, the Grizzly bear would have given turkey a bloody nose.

well done very difficult to find pics with the exocet launchers . ( have searched a lot and nothing )

However, the FAC in NN doctrine is more powerful than that ship, in terms of weapons

still the old exocet 38 mm ( 42km max range) are not at the nowday level . they need an upgrade . that jebel chenoua ship for exemple use the C802 (120 km range) wink

Because you dont know something doesnt make it false. No one owes you explanations or proof.
