Exactly what I was about saying. It's been more than six months since they were delivered yet they've not been deployed. Not even the artilleries. And since General Adeniyi left the theater, we've not heard of any offensive. It seems as if the army is okay with playing defensive while the airforce is on an attack spree.

lipsrsealed lipsrsealed.

Funnily enough, the defensive system is giving BH the opportunity to carryout more ambushes. Two days ago a Nigerian Army convoy was ambushed along Marte-Dikwa road and from information we lost 8 soldiers.

It's well with our great country

there have been situations where insurgents gets information before hand of army battalions advancing to attack their positions, these informations usually comes from an insider and the faster way to do so is the use of SMS on mobile phones, most commanders don't allow their soldiers to have access to their phones for some period of time.

You are giving too much credit to Boko, your assumptive opinion in bold , l do not believe to be true

I have talked about this before.

What is the general modus operandi of the NA, "strength in numbers" They go through areas of high contention in large convoys.

Those convoys are dominated overwhelmingly with soft skinned vehicles. The offensive capacity is very limited and the defensive abysmal.

Then the convoys go on clearly identified main roads, with the case of the Governor with sirens blaring.

What does it take an illiterate Boko deranged combatant high on tramadol to deduce that the NA is coming and set up an ambush in minutes.

Then if they don't the idiots know you are going to very unwisely pass the same road, when you are coming back.

Does that require any indepth intelligence to do.

I have seen the videos of the attack / ambush on Governor Zulam. They are shocking but show real operational naivety and limited capacity.

They are still undergoing training, these hardwares are still in Bauchi State.

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum on Wednesday asked the Federal Government to seek the support of the Chadian Republic military in its bid to end the security challenges in his state and other parts of the country.

The Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) made good its promise to help Zulum tackle the insecurity in Borno by donating N100 million to the state.

Also on Wednesday, the House of Representatives renewed its call for the sacking of service chiefs by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Zulum has within a month escaped unhurt in two different attacks on his convoy by Boko Haram insurgents. The last which was on Sunday led to the death of four soldiers, 10 policemen and four civilians. Scores were also injured.

The governor told a visiting delegation of the NGF in Maiduguri, that with the way things are, the Nigerian Army required the assistance of others to reverse the insecurity in the Northeast and other parts of the country.

A statement by the NGF spokesman, Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, quoted the governor as calling on the Federal Government “to ensure that Chadian soldiers are invited to join the Nigeria Army in the fight against insurgency if any meaningful success is to be recorded on the battleground.”

It added: “Zulum rationalised that no single army anywhere in the world has ever succeeded in quelling insurgency. He requested that the government looked into ways of complementing the efforts of the Nigeria Army with the Chadian soldiers, emphasising that it is not to undermine the Nigerian soldiers, but to help them in finishing the job within a realistic deadline.”

The governor told the team that things had degenerated to the extent that majority of Borno State people displaced by insurgents now depend on aid for survival.

He pointed out that the Chad Basin, Sambisa Grazing Reserve and Mandara Mountains, which used to employ about 10 million people, have been made inaccessible by terrorists.

The governor also said that the over 800,000 under-20 people currently residing in Monguno had become susceptible to being led astray if nothing was done to engage them positively.

He added that Gajiram Local Government Area alone has over 300,000 internally displaced persons that currently lack access to education and employment.

Zulum also vowed not to give up. He however said he would be more careful in his efforts to ensure that normalcy returned to the troubled state.

Chairman of the NGF, Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, who led the delegation, commiserated with the governor over the deaths recorded in the Boko Haram ambush on Sunday.

Announcing the N100 million donation, Fayemi called on all to lend a helping hand to end insecurity in the land.

Fayemi, who admonished Zulum to exercise caution in his zeal to improve the safety of his people, “emphasized that Nigeria owes Borno people a duty to end this insurgency.”

The visiting team comprised the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum, Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto State); the Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi) and the Chairman, Northern Governors’ Forum, Simon Lalong.

Also, the Army has said they are in full support of Zulum’s determination to relocate Internally Displaced People in his state.

The Army, in a statement by its Acting Director of Public Relations, Col. Sagir Musa, said as a patriotic and key agency in the war on terror in the Northeast, it would continue to do everything possible to ensure the actualisation of the governor’s desire.

It added that its Theatre Command had been directed to ensure the successful and seamless relocation of the affected people in the state.

The Army commiserated with the governor, families of all the slain soldiers, policemen and civilians.

The House of Representatives has said the “unjustifiable retention” of the Service Chiefs might be responsible for the rising insecurity in the country.

It therefore, restated its call on Buhari to give effect to its subsisting resolutions for their removal.

“The unjustifiable retention of the Service Chiefs may be the cause of the lingering problem as their defensive strategies seem to be obsolete and must have out grown further learning,” the House argued.”

Deadline will end the biggest cash cow.

Do we need the Chadians? Well the morale of our Troops is at its lowest ebb.

If only the Gideon Okar coup was seccesful, we won't be in all this mess we are today. Most part of the North West and North east won't have been part of Nigeria today.

With the way this country is been run now, things will just keep on getting worst.

Imagine that useless aboki, he does not even give a dam about Federal character, which they take very seriously during admission in the unity schools and federal university. And the useless and very incompetent president in Aso Rock will be busy telling us we're better together as one.

The thing with connection is that almost everyone has in varying degrees. Many of those that couldn't get into NDA too has connection(s).

What I can deduce from redemption's post is that before your connect can work, you have to meet the minimum requirements and as long as you meet those you're qualified to be selected. your connection will only make a difference if there are too many qualified candidates for the same position.

If your friends believe it was the connection that got them into the military and not their own abilities, then they should not be in the military.

Edit: they probably would not survive the academy if they were unqualified, if they are officers now, then they are qualified for NDA right from time.

This country funny. You will see a corrupt, very tribalistic, religion fanatics Government official telling you that you're not patriotic because you are given an opinion about how the country should be run or structured.

You really think something like that can be done without the support of so called southern leaders?
What exactly is stopping senators from the southern regions from moving a notion to summon this DG and question him on this?
The truth is that slots are given to every important politicians in these country as regards recruitment into any government agency or institution, but the problem is that our own leaders sell their slots to the highest bidder. Just take a look at the issue of the 774000 jobs FG is planning on creating, the only thing that they are after is how they will get more slots when the whole process was already very transparent (1000 people from each local government). They even went as far as sabotaging the programme when FG did not yield to their demands. Now ask yourself, what exactly are they after?
Even after the revelation of the DSS recruitment scandal, how many of the southern leaders have actually raised their voice?
It is exactly the same way in every recruiting exercise.
Even in things as simple as university admission, every professor, HOD, local government chairman, traditional ruler, house of rep member, senator has slots. It is what we all know. Until we start doing things transparently, this will always be the end result.
Many of our leaders are into politics for money, while many of theirs are into politics for more influence and they are willing to spend as much money as they have to get as many influence as they can get.

Let's hope it won't be as usual. These terrorists are at their weakest, they are facing leadership problems, factional conflicts, cholera and many more. These should be an offensive to clear them out once and for all. If truly they have been planning for the December/January offensive reasonably, they would by now have several officers taking special courses all around the world to get new skills and improve on what they had before. This war has been cold since March. 9 months is more than enough for many such trainings but then......

The SH-5 self-propelled howitzers are very complex/very tactical hardware to operate. The STI and VT4 shouldn’t take so much time, I think the NA HQ are just waiting for the right weather and terrain to lunch the major offensive.

I think saying southern leaders are in bed with the ruling northern elite, is a lie. Evidenced by the smoke oshiomole and tinubu threw in Edo election.
South politicians have been sucked like oranges and discarded because of personal greed.
