Late Rashidi Yekini was a great player during his playing days in the Super eagle national team.

He was very humble and a good team player.

Late Rashidi Yekini lived a simple lifestyle that was devoid of flamboyance.

Nigeria should not forget Rashidi Yekini.

I think the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF ) should immortalise him for his contribution towards football and sports in general in Nigeria.

Federal and State government should also immortalise the late Samuel Okwaraji who slumped while playing for Nigeria.

This will help in passing the message to the immediate families of the late players and Nigerians alike that these sportsmen did not die in vain while serving the fatherland.

Yekini never lived in ilorin,his family never lived in ilorin,they are from ira,very close to offa,he was always around every other weekend to see him aged mother,I saw him on several occasions while I was a student in that town between 1998 and 2001.
For your information he also built a two storey building comprising 6 flats for his mom and the old woman still lives there till now
