Hmmmm, seems you are not really into IT, PHP is gradually phasing out, it's becoming an outdated language. Google top 3 programming languages and see for yourself. JavaScript is not beans at all that's why they are in very high demand. You'll learn the syntax, angular, react and Gatsby, Node.js, Vue, Dom manipulation, and a host of other things. PHP is just a server side language.

Yea...I never really liked php

I also had a not very pleasant experience as a guard job but the problem is not in this type of work, the problem is in the team you work with. People see you the way you allow them to look at you. Yes, I agree, it's not an easy job, but if you chose to do that, my recommendation is to raise your head and keep going. Change the team, not the job. I did that and I am very happy that I did not give up the work I do because without us people would be unprotected. And we need to make them grateful to us that they are safe. Come and join my team Highly PROFESSIONAL Security Guard Services.

May Allah bless you, after my NYSC I started teaching in a secondary school the salary was small but manageable things was going fine but suddenly the owner of the school stop paying us our salary for about three months.
I left the teaching job and got my self a security job, they pay promptly and also we use to get some incentives from the company aswell, I got married with this security job last year by God grace I have son now.
Do you know what happened? A week after my wife put to bed I got a call from one of the state agencies I applied 20017 when I finished my NYSC. I was surprised I couldn't believe until I went to their office and confirmed it.

For me why I think a security job is a no no is because they are poorly paid, in almost all organisation they are the least paid, even cleaner dey collect money pass them.
You know in Nigeria people respect you for the money you have not the degree or skill you have, therefore you must be able to convert your degree and skill to money effectively. you must be able to plan properly.
I don't think a security man that want to make it should marry as a security man, such a man should struggle to get past that position before marriage because with marriage comes more responsibility hence you are more afraid of being jobless.
Now you should put effort in learning how to do something else because saving from your salary to start a business na hard task. you should improve on your self esteem too, it would help.
lastly, I would consider a conductor work in Lagos than being a security man for one simple reason, The pay is better. if you don't look for something else you can do, something else you can do won't look for you.

Python is a programming language used for many things. Honestly, I would advise you to learn JavaScript if you want to be employed as a top programmer sooner. This is because every website you see runs on JavaScript. Is JavaScript hard? It is and there are so many frameworks to learn such as angular, react, vue.js, node.js etc, you'll also learn HTML and CSS which is easy. I guarantee that after 6-9 months of perfecting JavaScript, you'll get jobs of 150-250k easy.

Good morning. Pls what do i need to learn JavaScript as a beginner.

Good morning. Pls what do i need to learn JavaScript as a beginner.

As a beginner, I strongly advise you to learn the fundamentals of computer science before touching any programming language. If you skip this vital step, you would regret it.

Understand how the internet works, what data structures are. This can take a week, just be curious and dive deeper. To achieve proficiency in JavaScript, start with:

1. HTML (2 - 3 weeks)
2 CSS - easy initially but you can never master CSS.

3 JavaScript: 3-6 months depending on your effort. Start with Data structures, learn beginner level algorithms such as is palindrome, Harmless Ransome note, fizzbuzz, fibonacci sequence etc

Month 2: Start understanding the Document Object Model, getElementById etc.

Month 4: Learn REACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This would land you jobs with ease. Props, stateful and stateless components, Material UI, Hooks,

Month 12: REDUX REDUX and REDUX!!!!!!!!!!!

So you see, it is not easy at all, but with 4-6hrs dedicated to programming, in a year you could achieve proficiency.

Good luck.

Like I said earlier, I'm a beginner. I'm not even a science student to start with. I just feel like expanding my horizon. Now back to what mentioned above, how do I access information on how the internet works. Are they random things one can get on the internet?

Go to YouTube and type Cs101, you'll see so many things there. Learn all the protocols like ftp, routers, asynchronous processes etc.

Not being a science student may hinder this learning as your brain hasn't been primed to understand these complex topics. As everything in life, practice makes perfect.

Take the time to learn and develop the required skills, then start doing projects. There are several threads that have been on frontpage about remote tech roles etc

The internet is there, use it to research and learn, no one should expect to be spoonfed. Those with the know how, it didn't drop into their heads, they had to make the effort.

That is why I have no pity for any yahoo person, the same tools you need fornit are the same tools you need to legit IT work.

After my small business crashed, I had no option than to take up a security guard job at lekki despite the fact that I am a university graduate, one day a female tanant talked to me in an insulting manner, I replied her in a more insulting manner, her brother came to fight me and I gave him the beating of his life, they got me arrested with the police and I spent days at the police cell, me wea Don de spend days for cell since secondary school days, when I came out I still fought with another tenant in the compound, in all these my employer was by my side, maybe because we do smoke together, after some months I just quit the useless job for good, I now have my own boutique store and am doing well.
