SARS is not a financial crime unit.

They arrogated powers to themselves outside of their mandate.

Anti-robbery. Is cyber crime not robbery?
If you committed no crime and SARS stops your vehicle, will you zoom off and engage them in a chase?

Are you a Nigerian living in Nigeria?

I pray you don’t encounter these guys. We were thrown out of an interstate cab on one occasion by SARS men just because the driver is trying to help a passenger who missed his bus stop back to his destination.

All of us were thrown down from the cab in the middle of the Benin/Ore expressway and they went away with the vehicle.

It's not just about SARS, I've been a victim of police brutality since my teenage way back 2003/2004 though it was very rare then. The SARS then was nothing like what we have now.
This SARS brutality became very rampant when a lot of touts and cultists joined started signing up.
The matter is tricky, End SARS! do you know what that means? Armed robbers can lockdown a street and hold a vigil.
Reform SARS sounds better...
It seems Yahoo boys have highjacked the protest.

Before SARS, even in the 80s when there were daredevil armed robbers, we survived with local police.

you said it all bro!

don't mind that other guy spitting rubbish. hear him talking about been harrased by 2002/2004, he was trying to compare the then brutality and harrassment with now and recent years

very myopic person indeed!
Joshmodest:
I'm so tempted to tell you your reasoning is unbelievably myopic ....
Yahoo boys hijacked the protest , how does that validate SARS brutality , even if yahoo boys hijacked the protest when has SARS job become to arrest fraudsters , what happened to the Efcc , when did anti - robbery become anti fraud ..that's the real problem ,imagine saying drug peddlers are protesting for the lastma to be scrapped , when we have the Ndlea , does that make sense to you and your friends ?
Methinks you have no relative or a friend who has been assaulted or killed by this miscreants ,hence your SARS apologist comments ...
The excuse of police brutality , is not tenable at all , like it or not you were brutalized by police in 2002 , some would still be brutalized even today ...funny thing is police brutality is still on ,likewise SARS brutality , FRSC brutality , customs brutality , every single force are brutal in their activities , so do we leave one to continue terrorising us even when we have a slight chance of ending this gory sight in the name of others being brutal too ?
Where SARS move to if they are dissolved is not the problem let's get them dissolved first ,whether they become armed robbers or not is not our problem , I'll rather be robbed by gun men than being harassed by SARS !!

#ENDSARS: Angry Nigerians Led By Sowore, Deji, Aisha and Raphael Protest At Force Headquarters In Abuja

Angry Nigerians protesting the continued harassment and intimidation of citizens by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad has vowed not to leave the premises of Nigeria Police Force headquarters in Abuja until the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, addressed them.

The protesters turned down the entreaties of Force Public Relations Officers, Frank Mba, for them to call off the demonstration.

The protest was led by human rights activists, Omoyele Sowore, Deji Adeyanju, Aisha Yesufu, Raphael Adedayo and others.

Graphic footage showing SARS officers dragging two men from a hotel in Lagos and shooting one of them in the street had sparked mass fury across the country and fuelled long-held demands for reforms.

If you see armed robbers in your front and have the opportunity to run, won't you? They are government-sanctioned killers, kidnappers and armed robbers. People are bound to flee from such menace to society.

SARS officers were trained differently on how to combat criminals (robbers, kidnappers) which is different from the general police. their functions are different.

SARS just needs to be reformed with law and recruitment of sane human being

Inasmuch as the operational tactics of Fsars in protecting and defending the nation against domestic threats... has been abused, I would in the awakening rise of internet fraud and money laundering amongst the youths today who unarguably are supposed to be the leaders of today has been debacled as a result of the ineptitudeness of the Nigerian government still undoubtedly stand with FSars in their operations and let's allow God to use the Federal government to development this nation to soothe the youths and stop this blackmail we are giving this name. Moreover, what is Aisha Yesufu still doing here?

IGP sir, please your ever energetic SARS to North East, Sambisa because that is where their gra....gra is highly needed. In Sambisa they will be able to kill as many as the Mercenarties their. But killing innocent Nigerians by stealing is wicked. I heard they do contributions weekly, people that does contributions, use their salaries, theives, use your salaries and stop this armed robbery.
