I havent written them yet, but I buy what fairheart said, be sure youre ready yet before writting them.
have you written Abuja yet? and when?

I wrote to both of them some minutes ago, and Lagos have reply me with a form to fill "Lagos Emergency Visa Appointment Requests", but my fear the worry now is my I20 was mailed on Tuesday from my school, it has not arrived yet, also, I have not prepared at all the visa interview. So, I don't know if it is safe to go ahead and fill the form

Has any one filled the visa emergency form this night? and what is the response? or has any gotten an appointment date recently and when? I am trying to predict when the closest interview date they are dishing out at the moment

Here's what a highlighted part of their email (sent this morning) says:

For emergency student visa appointments: Due to COVID-19, temporarily, we will accept electronically submitted I-20s from Designated School Officials. Applicants must print out the form electronically submitted to them, and bring this hard copy to the interview. If granted a visa, the visa holder will need to bring this hard copy with them to the border to present to Customer and Border Patrol.

I think this covers that. I have submitted my form.

Good morning everyone! So we're all rushing now to fully prepare for the interviews; please who knows how recent the bank statement has to be? I mean if your interview date is November 20, for instance, is it okay to get a bank statement ending on like November 5?
Wishing everyone God's grace.

I feel you're two-third the way through getting that visa approval. To be accepted in Top 20(fully funded) is really a big achievement and the Visa officers know this.
You're the man.
All the best! Sa***

Lagos consulate is currently responding to queries for appointment. In fact, it is like WhatsApp chat...even at 11:30, they are responding to emails, according to the student updating me.
If you need a date or previous one in Abuja was cancelled, contact them today or tomorrow.
However, note that once you fill that form and you send it, you must be on standby as you may be given date within the next 10 days or so. grin grin grin
This thing dey sweet...
At least every student will know that appointment is sure for them.

Hello, thanks for this , please what is the email address I can reach them on ...thanks

Hi all, for those who have paid the reciprocity fee (or have valid info), does the embassy really want people to bring cash or will there be options of card payment at the embassy if visa is approved?

Reply will be highly appreciated

What else do you want them to say? There is no expedient appointment as we used to know. This form of appointment is email-based. They choose a single date for you, for which you must appear for interview. Don't expect expedient as of old whereby you pick any date then they release closer date for you to pick. That one no dey this time around. Also, Abuja have started referring students to contact Lagos consulate. I am getting the info as they share it.

If you need a date, contact Lagos embassy. They are even online as I write this message, responding to emails very fast.
Note, this is for SPRING 2021 APPLICANTS ONLY!!!
please what is the email to contact them

This is exactly what the embassy wants: If you're not ready, do not contact them for appointment!!!
This is why they are not allowing any student to pick from the appointment website, as they know most students with far resumption date will not allow those resuming early to book. I also believe this is why they shut down the 6-day slots initially planned.
If you are not ready for interview, don't bother contact them as they will likely give you close date grin grin. When you are ready, be sure that they will give you date, even if it is in December. Right now, it should be clear to all of you that Lagos will be interviewing F1 applicants from today 9th of October.
When you are ready, they will give you a date!

What if I fill the form now and send it when I'm ready. Pls what's the email again. I sent one on that Saturday too. I only got an automated mail. No form yet

Waiting.... I know it's best to print for six months but can we get a statement a month before the interview?

Sure you can, a week or two before the interview will still suffice....so you're good to go...the most important thing is that it's recent

Guys good day. I greet you all. I had my F1 Visa interview (Bachelor's degree) this morning in a foreign country and with legal status but I was denied, the official refusal letter aims at they fact that I didn't provide strong ties to my home country which isn't really true because I made it known to them that I had businesses in Nigeria and that I even had some supporting documents with me. The consular, at the of the interview claimed and advised that I should have interview in "ABUJA or LAGOS" as it's the best for me. If I plan on reapplying in Nigeria, I'm afraid i'd be given a later date and might not meet up with my resumption, my school resumes Jan24th. What do you guys think about this? Please let me know your views and this. Thank you!

From experience, even 4months interval will suffice as along as it's valid with activities.

I said this about 2 months ago on this thread...it is better you apply from your home country. Those who knows better said I was wrong!
Fly to Nigeria and try again! The US embassy in Lagos will grant you an appointment. But it is risky. Which country are you right now? If you are given closer date, will you be able to fly home to appear?

The service they provide is to help you review the information you will provide on your DS-160 and they charge you $159 for it. They're not in any way affiliated to the US government

Nigeria has a high rejection rate as well.... so it always 50/50 applying both home and away .

In this same Nigeria many Nigerians are rejected and given the generic reason of no home ties even when they go with proof of enough home ties

US Visa Approved!!!

Sent a strongly worded email with convincing points for an emergency visa appointment on Tuesday Night - 6th.

Received an email from the US embassy at 7.30am the next day - Wednesday, scheduling me for an interview on Friday at 6.30am.

Today, Woke up at 5.00am, joined hands with my sister to decree divine Favour.

Bath, dressed and booked an Uber, got to VI at 6.20am.

Went in for my interview at 7.00am

Sent back out because I did not print my DS-160 confirmation.

Rain flogged me, some soldier men even gave me umbrella my who cloth was wet.

A lady helped me to print the DS - 160 form, said I should pay her 5K, I didn’t have any money on me. Begged the lady and eventually paid 3500 outta my reciprocity fee.

Went back into the embassy.

VO: Good morning
Me: Hi, Goodmorning

VO: Pass me ur I-20 and visa and da-160 form

VO: where are u going
Me: Going to ...Ivy league school

VO: Great school, but very expensive too, how are u funding it?
Me: Received 80,000 USD in Fin Aid and taking a loan of 20K from my uncle to complete the rest.

VO: Ok, what does ur uncle do?
Me: My Uncle is a real estate developer and deals in wichtech roofing sheets.

VO: Any evidence of ur uncles ability to pay?
Me: before I could Pass him my uncles statement, he said I shouldn’t bother, he believes me.

VO: Have u travelled out before?
Me: Yes, I have been to the US, Germany France, Qatar, Kenya, Uganda...etc

VO: What did u go for?
Me: Explains

VO: Your visa has been approved, do u have the reciprocity fee?
I knew my reciprocity fee was short by 3500 but I answered yes, I did not want wahala.

VO: Go over there and pay, and enjoy ur stay in America

I go over there, praying for a miracle and the money to double...didn’t happen.
Went out and was looking for whom to borrow money from as I didn’t have my atm. One guy who just finished his interview saw me and asked what the problem was.
I told him, he then called his driver to bring money and dashed me 4K. I quickly begged him to wait for me, so I follow him and drop off at my stop.
He waited for me to pay the reciprocity fee and then told his driver to drop me off the stop close to my house.

Good luck every one
