undecided I disagree with the Lagos House of Assembly, instead I will ask for #REFORMSARS. Otherwise Kidnappers/Fraudsters /Armed Robbers would have a filled day.
Most of these #ENDSARS noise are coming from these criminals. In a society that complains about insecurity, inadequate policing and all sorts. Let's encourage the reform of the whole police force in such a way that criminal-minded ones in the force are flushed out and adequately punished for their excesses.

It will.... If they see that people are not relenting. End SARS not reform. 7 reforms done in 3years and things keep getting worst. They should scrap it. SARS is getting bigger than the IGP himself.

I hope federal government listens this time.
I have been seeing #endsars for the past 4 years on twitter.

This time around, it the protest has gone offline.

I just hope the end of this brutality is close.

Nigeria is blessed.

Modes of operation of security agents in every country are different and based on profiling even in America. Even Black cops are more likely to be more careful while arresting a black thug.

Policing in Mexico is different from policing in Sweden or Switzerland. In Mexico, when you are covered with tattoos, their police literally strips you down to even your underwear to ensure that you are not peddling drugs. The Mexican police understands through experience what the drug cartels are capable of and how they appear. Someone in Australia or Europe would consider that an abuse of human rights.

The Nigerian police force uses the method that best suits Nigeria. If a foreigner from Western Europe arrives Nigeria , the individual would be surprise that Ak-47 rifles are used even in the absence of combat because police in their countries make use of pistols. Governors in such countries most times move with less than 5 security details.

Are the Nigerian police force wrong to use Ak-47s in broad daylight? Absolutely no. Even terrorist attacks in the UK are perpetuated with knives which shows the effective control of even civilian grade guns in that country. The Nigerian system demands that Law enforcement officials are always ready for combat at least with semi automatic rifles because an average Nigerian armed criminal moves with a superior weapon and there would not be enough time for reinforcement due to the state of bad roads , air response and other factors.

If the police force is reformed those celebrities who protested yesterday who are okay with the many policemen at their gates beating fans to pulp when they trespass would not have any police men attached to them because it is not so in the countries they visit. So they don't want to talk about reformation, they just want to stop a part of a larger whole because of their friends.

The issues here isn’t sars or
Police functions bt the BRUTALITY and lack of professionalism. It has cost unnecessary lives and needs to be checked immediately!!!!! It will be Highly IRRESPONSIBLE to continue like this.

Profiling can be done in accordance with the laws can’t it??

They can run their fraudulent schemes without resistance, engage in their cultism parades in broad daylight , rebuild the local drug trade routes and strengthen the southern fire arms proliferation industry.

Nobody is interested in your epistle.

FSars, SARS as a unit no longer operate within the purvey of their calling.

They feel they are above the law, but they got it wrong this time, the power belongs to the people.

For someone who claims to have superior knowledge about policing matters and law enforcement, your post shows a comical and poor grasp of the basic universal tenets of policing.

Why is the Nigerian Police rated the worst police force in the world on the policing index?

You may be right but presently we don't need FSARS/SARS again. Those guys are not doing anything in the interest of the general public rather their personal pocket. They are the criminals now Nigerians are afraid of.
Once they come your path no way you can scape through without paying through your nose. Armed robber can attack you and leave you once they found out you have nothing in your possession but SARS won't leave you. You will call your enemies for money. Imagine a police outfit arrest you " kidnap " and ask you to bail yourself with 150k.
They will frame you if you failed to dance to their ringtones.
Call them for any robbery attack or anything, they will ask you for upfront payment as if they're not collecting salary.

The Nigerian police has been rated the Worst in the whole world. So, the issue is beyond laid down policing methods But the outright commercialisation of the policing procedures. The average naija policemen doesn't give a rat's ass about the rule of law, they're after cashing out and "settling" superiors by any means. Years of ignoring this scourge is what has led to the SARS impunity.

If Amotekun was fully established today, a bulk of their members will use machetes.
Do you see red ribbons tied to the guns of police officers abroad?
Now , check the gun of an average Nigerian police officer and you'll see a red ribbon or any fetish stuff suggesting voodoo tied to their guns.
That's why they use machetes, because they believe that "odeshi" may make their guns fail. It's basically a psychological thing.

No sane person would argue against police brutality and corruption. Infact, growing up we knew the men in Black loved "20 naira notes " most.
My argument was against ending SARS. Reformation of the police force is what is needed and not just ending a part of it that is most effective against violent crimes.

Police Officers are employed as members of the Police Force first before drafted to the Anti robbery unit. If SARS is scrapped, the members of the squad would still be members of the police force . Reform the whole police force.

I'm also fully aware of "policemen " settling their superiors and that's exactly my point. SARS Officers extort most times to settle a DPO who is not a member of SARS. This means the problem is deeper than SARS.
