Why is he called your sponsor “let the payment be from him”
Ok, thanks.
But who should pay the school fees deposit?

Thanks for your response. The reasons are what the VO said in my GCMS notes

Try and respond to the VO’s worries in the GCMS notes especially when crafting the sop towards the purpose of visit... as long as it’s study plan is vague you should be able to tackle it but if it’s career progression then you might need to change the program.

Either of you can pay it. your sponsor paying it would buttress his commitment to sponsoring you and also make the VO see your sponsor as being genuine and committed to your educational sojourn.

he could pay it and say it likewise send it to you and state he has sent it to you then you pay it which ever way works
The actual question here is after payment would it reflect who paid it ?

Hello Oghogho1313

Someone I know did it for his house, it was done by an estate surveyor. He did it to show that he had a valuable property to come back to, because he applied with his partner. Of course, I can’t say if this helped his application in any way but he got the study permit.

Best wishes

Hello skull4eva

The person I know who did a deed of gift, got it done by a lawyer. The lawyer notarized it and also put his stamp which had his NBA (Nigerian Bar Association Number) on it. It wasn’t cheap.

Hopefully someone in the house can help you

Best wishes

Skull you don’t need a sample letter. The lawyer that would do it for you would be the one to draft it, and notarize it as well... he would just ask you for few details concerning the property to be gifted. sign, and give you also to sign, also wittiness to sign. He would collect a token tho so be prepared for that. Also do not forget to back date the deed of gift.. may your application be favoured. Godspeed

Hello adeenzo

Have you already received a response concerning the application?

If you can’t prove family ties then you should focus on economic ties and a good SOP(statement of purpose) explaining why you’d come back home. Home ties could be landed properties, good financial standing (statement of account), a registered business, good job with study leave letter, active community involvement. It all depends on your age though.

Please wait for more input from others in the house.

Best wishes
hello CROCS thanks for your imput, i am super grateful, but sadly i havent heard anything from IRCC since my application was submitted.
As regards economic ties, I do work as an IT systems adminstrator in a fintech company, i dont really have any landed properties or run a self employed business.. i just hope my previous travel to canada and not overstaying will count for me.
Ps the screenshot below shows the status of my application.

Focus on your job. And make sure you get your mom to sign an affidavit of sponsorship on your behalf. In addition to whatever you have in the affidavit, she should include the following.

That your purpose of applying for study Visa is solely for studying (program name) in Canada.
That on no occasion would you (your name) depend on the government of Canada and social safety net (Welfare prgrams)
That you (your name) will abide by the all the laws of Canada and all immigration laws and regulations.
You can tell her to go to a registered immigration lawer to sign it. They know what to write. It's like 30 bucks or so.
Having family in Canada is not a bad thing. I did same for my sibling and it worked. Other docs were included obviously.

Also, make sure to include your mom's citizenship certificate or passport page. You should also include your sister/brother inlaw's passport pages too, if they are sponsoring you. If they are not sponsoring you, it won't hurt to have a co sponsor if they are willing to give you their docs.
Also, talk about how the good things your family said influenced your decision to come study in Canada in your SOP.

If you have income, include your statement and talk about economic ties in your SOP. If you don't have a job, make sure you justify how your study in Canada would give you a job in Nigeria and future plans.

I'm not sure why you need a guardian cos you're an adult but anyways. You should also get your brother inlaw to sign an affidavit too since he would be your guardian. If he's not your guardian, he can still sign an affidavit to vouch for you. Kill them with affidavit to show that you will return upon completion of your studies.

I don't think you need a letter from your other sister unless she's sponsoring you. Is she an adult. If so, you can get an affidavit to speak to your character that you are law abiding, but I don't think it's necessary.

Goodluck

Hello, house, kindly advise me on how I can show ties to my home country Nigeria, because all my siblings and my mom are Canadian citizens, I am not married nor do i have any kids.
Hello gurus in the house, I applied for my study permit early September with the following.
1. My LOA from NAIT to read electronics engineering
2. Reference letter from my workplace (I work as an IT systems administrator)
3. Previous travel history (I have been to Canada in 2018 and returned without over staying)
4. Full payment of my first year tuition.
5. 10k cad for my upkeep in my mother’s account in Canada as she is a citizen for over 6 years (through pr)
5. letter of guardianship from my sister’s husband who are both citizens of Canada,
6. And also a letter from my other sister who was born in Canada..
I have weak home ties in Nigeria (literally everyone in my family is a citizen apart from my dad and I) how do I prove my home ties in Nigeria ps. I am not married and have no kids.

Hello adeenzo

You can order your GCMS notes to see what’s happening with your application. It will show the most up to date status of your application.

To do that yourself from Nigeria, just google “GCMS notes sites Canada” and you’ll see several websites you can order it from. It costs between $15-$20 cad and can take up to 35 days to be ready.

If someone in Canada (Citizen, PR, temporary resident) is ordering it on your behalf it would cost $5 cad only.

Best wishes

Sigh... thats one huge mistake that still haunts us, she got her PR in 2011 and became a citizen in 2016, both of my siblings are were born there as well... she basically comes to nigeria and goes back to canada but she isn't based in canada tho. Honestly speaking i think lack of knowledge of all these stuffs attributed too..

Hello Adeenzo,

You have a very good profile for a visa possibility. You should look at trying to demonstrate your ties to your country from an economical perspective i.e. employment offer, promotion letter, study leave letter etc.

Also, any social tie i.e. landed properties belonging to you or a family member under your watch and supervision should be economically presented.

Instead of stressing yourself going through the Study route, why not try the Family Class route since your mum and the rest family members are citizens.

Go register a business name in your IT specialization using the address of the (any) land location belonging to a reliable family member (by doing a gift deed). You can also use it to build a reliable future economic establishment back to your home country.

Hello Jimohib,

Your notes is generic. This was my response to Milo9. Its also applicable to your situation.
You may want to consider improving on:

1. Funds
2. Home ties
3. Future benefit/prospect of the intended course
4. Level of Establishment (tie this to your current employment)
5. Use a capable sponsor (if applicable)

Even if you're trying to use family as home ties, don't tie yourself with too much responsibilities, especially if you're low income earner.

Good day to every one. I appreciate the efforts of the gurus in the house to couch others to achieve success. i also have a concern i will like everyone to comment on or advice me on. My Visa was denied last two months and reasons where economic ties and study/career progression. AkA; purpose, ties.
I want to re-apply and i want to change my course of study, my bsc is in technical education, and i have 2yrs experience in project management. But now i want to go for pgd in education so that there will be a study progression is this ok or i should stick to the projects management i used to apply initially?

Hello Chloe3,

In my best opinion, if the work experience is still current and/or active, stick with the Project Management. That way, you can easily establish a claim of professional development or career progression from a wide perspective.

Again, I want to assume you're a Nigerian. When the two courses you've selected are placed for comparison either in terms of good employment prospect and lucrativeness in Nigeria labour market, Project Management has a better prospect. Please, don't misquote me, I am not trying to demeaning education as a good profession. This was based on my level of understanding.

Ifelajulo:
Happy Sunday to all the gurus in the house, please I need your advice on my application and the way forward.
I got admission for fall 2020 to one of the Colleges in Canada and I applied for visa through an agent.

I applied in June
Got AIP to proceed online study on August 5th
Got Biometrics in June 25
Got Medical Request on August 12.

All these were done and updated on my profile.

The problem now is that my course of study is Laboratory based and my school had asked me to come down to Canada for my study on first week in September but I don't have the full study permit to come. I wrote a letter to the Registrar explaining my predicament that I just got AIP and that I can't travel without full permit. All my plea for deferment of admission or request to study online until the coast is clear fell in deaf ear. Later on my admission was withdrawn by the school. They ask me to reapply again ( the program is highly competitive and the admission is only in fall every year).

Technically I don't have admission now though I paid a non refundable tuition deposit of 1,500 and due to the unclear future I didn't pay the full tuition fee.

My question are:

How should I proceed with this my condition?.

If am giving full SP what can I do with it?

Do I still need to reapply for study visa for this same course next year?

If I apply for another course in another school for summer or winter, can I use this SP?

Please am confuse, I need help.

Hello Ifelajulo,

The good thing here is that you've not been asked to provide an updated letter. Based on my inconclusive findings, most admission letter are considered invalid after or within a month prior after academic start date.

You should want to act fast and reapply to same program. Irrespective of its competitiveness, you may be given priority. The most suitable person you should have talked to (be talking to) is the program administrative secretary and/or program coordinator/assistant. These people have their ways of assisting if the right persuasion was applied.

In this situation after sending emails, then follow up calls would have been well-placed. Before reapplying, call them for formality and in this process, try to get them to be aware of your situation. They may not directly acknowledge your plea, but they might just take notice of your application and personal details, and place priority when necessitated.

You can as well apply to some other schools with same program as back up. No harm here. You will only reapply for visa if it was refused but if you were approved without the VO requesting for an updated admission letter and in the scenario where your school failed to give you a subsequent admission, you can use a second admission letter from another school to facilitate your entry into Canada. Provided you can justify your reasons at the POE.

BTW is this school Conestoga? If YES, you will get the admission.

As long as its not the principal document for POF, it can be used. Literally, 25% can't cover the total 1yr educational cost except there is full funding.

This works well for demonstrating home ties and good economic level of establishment while business valuation demonstrate good financial strength of the source of funds but not counted towards liquid funds.
