I don't like to talk to much about speed when assessing a car cuz I know speed kills but it has to get to a point where you just have to say how you feel about something that you think is exceptionally brilliant.

I bought my Acura TL 2012 about 7 months ago, even though I did a lot of research before finally dropping the money, I didn't expect that I'll enjoy this much peace of mind and joy when driving this machine.

Apart from all the amazing features that comes with TL 2012, The most fascinating to me is the sport mode coupled with the manual shift gears that is carefully placed in the steering area.

God that thing is bae! I don't even bother if a car is trying to drag race me anymore, I just let them go cuz I know if I want to, all I need to do is switch to sport mode and engage my manual gears!

I don't know how Acura did it and how they made it so perfect but they sure did it! I'm sure everybody that drives that car will testify to this too.

Now this brings me to the question I have. ARE THERE NEGATIVE EFFECTS TO USING THIS MANUAL GEARS?

If you also drive this car and you have more experience with it. I'd like to know what you think.

Those are paddle shifters nah, for quickly engaging the next gear or reducing your gear selection bypassing the TCM or manufacturer designed change time. Your TL is a 3.5L V6 with 3xxhp, I hope you weren't challenging the likes of Corolla and Camry?

Any way a G37 infiniti of same year would whip your butt over and over again.

Probably because you haven't used it before and you don't understand the control it gives you when you drive. I drove manual gear for 4 years before opting for auto. Infact I have only driven manual all my life so you should know my joy when I realize I can shift gears in an auto ride. It's special unless you're just being a kill joy

Plenty of presumptions here. My own car has a manual shift mode, so don't think you've made a glorious discovery.

There's nothing special. In a regular torque converter automatic, shifting with paddles is slow. In a dual-clutch, it's much better.

Enjoy your car. Plenty of cars have paddle shifters.

My brother horse power is just an icing on the cake, your ride is just a fancy word for concoction rice made with tomato paste no offence if you are bent on 305hp I assure you will be on the losers end.

Every avid car enthusiast knows of all the japanese Nissan/infiniti engines are ass whoppers.

The IS and GS have paddle shifters, I believe.

Generally speaking bro, Acura were very detailed with their cars...its a beautiful ride and a strong machine.
I drive the TL 2007....No regrets.
Strong and balanced....speed when you need it.

True, not for people managing fuel. The fuel economy is okay but won't compare it to those taxi drivers that buys 500 per day.
