What about if your friend impregnated your wife under your roof while you took him in to come and live with you till he sort himself out, your wife delivered the baby and you do the naming ceremony thinking that you're the real father and later found out after some few years that you're not the real father.

Forgiveness is a choice.
Forgiveness can still be possible.

Trust is based on "premises": Trust is built by truth and integrity. Once it is breached, it has to be earned, and it usually takes a long time.

So, trusting such person will not be too early except if it wasn't done wilfully i.e. say, maybe under the influence of drug or blackmail etc
