Be slow to read and understand lest you expose your ignorance which is oozing. I never said govt should provide food. They should create the enabling environment for people to.progress. the capitalism that yiu are talking about only flourished because of the enabling environment provided. US and European countries that are discussing stimulus, tax credits and bailout, what is that? Is that not some form of socialism? Use sense Oga
The first prerequisite of "enabling environment" is : Peace and stability.

People are on the street delaying vehicular movements, occupying major roads etc. Are they creating enabling environment that way?

The Protests have outlived its purpose. Anyone arguing otherwise is just being emotional.

We need a national rebirth. A nation gets the type of leaders and police they deserve.

Our police, security agents, politicians and leaders did not come from the moon, they are one of us, members of our society, family, church, mosque, village, town etc

And using that MTN and Airtel example is really off.
It's nowhere written that politicians must use local services.

All these does not justify why the president of a sovereign country should be treated for ear infection in another country bros. Who are the illiterates championing these protests?

Number 3 and Number 5 are not easily achievable demands.

This is what happens when an ant think of itself as an elephant.

Prosecution of officers within 10 days?? That is more than laughable. Before you prosecute any police officer for any wrongdoing, there has to be an internal investigation that will precede their dismissal before you even talk about prosecution at all.

Increment of salary of police officers because a few persons are protesting? At this stage, I'm starting to believe illiterates are at the forefront of this demonstration.

In due time we would know the champions of this protest, the current beneficiaries of the previous protest are all in today's government enjoying blood money of those that died during the occupy Nigeria protest,......,,.For all they protested, they never had the moral rights to acknowledge a dine of what they agitated for when they got power........

This is why support china's stance against western democracy and foreign owned social media.

If Obasanjo listened to the oshiomole-led labour union protests against the privatization of nitel and the liberalization of Telecoms, we would not have this wonderful telecoms industry today.

I supported these protests at the beginning but not any longer.

As you're ranting that you have a constitutional right to protest, do you not know that others also have constitutional rights not to associate with your protest and constitutional rights to movement for their legitimate economic activities. Why then are you blocking the road and ostracizing anyone that doesn't support your position.

As far as I'm concerned, the president's announcement rendered all further protests illegitimate.

You can't just be protesting forever. There has to be dialogue. After the IGP and president announced the disbandment of sars, the IGP went further to announce that all sars operatives have being recalled to force headquarters where they will be investigated, undergo tests etc. He agreed to your 5of5. He has released all protesters arrested. He agreed to allow Davido setup an independent panel to oversee the reforms. He also announced that a new tactical squad SWAT has being established to take over the activities of sars and training will begin in one week. He said they won't check phones, no former sars member will be recruited into the new SWAT. Then the next thing we here is, EndSWAT

What exactly is your problem? Should we not have tactical unit against armed robbery again. Is the solution to bad leadership, no leadership? You want to give armed robbers free chance to operate? You should have said EndPolice, EndSecurity instead of just EndSars

What we should be seeing at this point after the IGP's announcement is dialogue between the government and representatives of the protesters. Both sides must be ready to be reasonable and ready to make concessions. If after all this, the government still refuses to make any changes, then you can return to the streets. But no, they said they don't want to have any representatives, that they will continue protesting forever. Even the Hong Kong protests have leaders that if the government wants to negotiate, they know who to call.

Again, there are democratic ways to channel these demands. Since the protesters believe they have the numbers, why don't they start recalling their people in the legislature. The constituency of the speaker of the house of reps is Surulere Lagos where the protests are hottest. Threaten to recall him if they don't pass necessary laws to fix police brutality. If they don't, recall the speaker. Only the fear will push the rest to pass the laws before they're recalled by their people.

Another thing is that most of the twitter influencers, adding salt and maggi to the protests, firing up the protesters, preaching about how the protesters must go back and never back down, are not even in Nigeria. One Nigerian doctor in the UK and another Dipo something in the UK. The UK based Dipo was even invited to a zoom meeting held yesterday between the CBN governor, dangote, elumelu and other influential protesters, to show you how influential he is concerning the protests. If these protests lead to chaos, they will be there safe in the UK while the ones here that have refused to be sensible will be the ones to pay the price.

Some are even already throwing jokes about war in Nigeria on twitter and how they cant wait for it and many are laughing. I just shake my head. If only they have seen war.

Now that the protesters have shown that they're are not reasonable and even having clashes with thugs, I believe full military force is justified, before this thing leads to Civil War. If they don't agree to take a break and dialogue like any reasonable person should, then roll out the tanks and guns and we can redact Tiananmen Square here in Nigeria. Or better still, before this leads to war, the military should stage a bloodless coup and take over. Hopefully, whoever is head of state will accept his limited knowledge and appoint experts in various sectors to head their sectors. Appoint people like Soludo or Rewane or NOI to run the economy and not just any economically-illiterate General or Field Marshall. A military dictatorship achieving double digit economic growth annually won't be a bad thing. China won't interfere, and as long as China doesn't interfere, Trump's US won't also be bothered. ECOWAS and AU can do absolutely nothing to Nigeria. Only likely sanctions will be from the UK and EU, and Nigeria can withstand such sanctions.

All this your grammar na because dem never kill anyone of your family members.

Please go away sir

Firstly, I blame SARS and the police authority for acting out of line and for not addressing these the issues with SARS till it got out of hand. Their misbehaviours, unwholesomeness and the lack of decisive action against them, as and when due created the avenues for some political jobbers to advantage of.

SARS misbehaviours have been around for a while and something should have been done about it but it wasn't. That does not mean the protest itself is about police brutality as it is being presently potrayed.

Before I proceed further, I will like to say that any political aspiration that has something to offer to the people would not have to create any form of unrest to distract and discredit the present leadership to use that means to convince people.

I see a particular pattern with what happened after presidential broadcast on January 1st, 2012. These set of politicians knew that the masses have issues with government increasing the fuel price. The Government then has its own share of the blame by not engaging/convincing the masses well enough before the removal of that subsidy. However, all the political elite knew it was the right to do but those against the divide used the situation to their advantage. Today, much is fuel? We all know the answer.

Unfortunately, the present government benefited from that pattern. Now, people are not favoured with the present arrangement again then they decide to look for another area affecting the masses to leverage on. Unfortunately for SARS their misbehaviours have gone unchecked for a while; Committing all sorts of atrocities because they are privileged to serve the nation. They become the avenue to use this time.

I believe the country has many areas of disadvantages that could be used as point of campaign. " Every country has." So why always inciting the public?

I just wished this protest was actually borne out of the masses being tired of things not working right and correcting the wrongs rightly observed. However, it may not be clear to the ordinary eyes now but eventually the masses will discover that the organisers and profiteers of the protest are just used them in preparation for their own ambition for the next election year.

Whereas inflation in the US stands at around 1.4% and TB is around 0.13%.

Interesting, it looks like both have a correlation of close to 10% TB rate to inflation rate

The only way I fight my fights is by bringing economic value to my country which also gives value to young Nigerians.
Not by senseless protest, meanwhile I cant wait for the army to start giving it hot to protesters cool
Even the most liberal country in the world deployed the national guard when the people think they could be stupid and get away with it.

You haven't achieved much, too much inequality in the country

The youths must make life miserable for comfortable saboteurs , who are happy with the status quo.

I'm on thier side , a country where an eleven year old works has a labourer and the politicians earning salaries unheard of.

Blame the 11 year old's father, government has nothing to do with it.
The lack of responsibility and entitlement of the country's citizens is off the roof.
All the people that are comfortable today made all that comfort for themselves.
Let the average Nigerian do same.

Check the budget of the capitalists countries you're so fond of to see how they ensure eleven year olds/kids are protected, despite failings from parents.

Anyway I trust these generation , they have suffered and can see what's going on elsewhere.

Good for you, the world doesn't revolve around individuals.

You see those untrained Nigerian kids , they're growing up fast and will unleash terrors unknown to the Nigerian pysche.

I'm seeing them all over the internet and i keep asking how did we get here.

Here's a summary of the circuit.

The government steals developmental funds, the family which is the bedrock of society is neglected and crumbles, single parents, badly raised kids everywhere.

Not every kid will survive when every odd is against them.

Kids need to be protected , indoctrinated into being good productive citizens.

In the west if you are a bad parent , your kids will be taken from you.

Koko of it all , we are a culture that glorifies corruption and mediocrity.

The Nigerian budget doesn't even consider the families.
