Please house...A friend of mine would like to know if 7.5m Naira will be enough for a statement of account to process a Canadian student visa (2 years msc program) With a tuition fee of Cad $20100 (5.8m Naira) for a year. Thanks |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by silvamania: 5:50pm On Oct 17, 2020 |
Grace001:First how many years is the program, because he will have to show proof for subsequent years too Also there’s a mandatory 10,000kCAD for living expenses he/she has to show along side money for Tuition and there should be little amount left in the account after all this So let’s look at it 20100 + 10,000= 30,100k CAD * 300 = #9,030,000 Taking into account other factors I mentioned earlier , I don’t think it will be enough Other Gurus will shade more light also All the best |

Good evening Folks, Please pardon my naivety, what is BVL/Correspondence Letter? Please, explain to me. Thanks |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Chocs(f): 6:06pm On Oct 17, 2020 |
Hello Grace001 Adding to what @silvamania said, this amount is insufficient. Your friend needs to show at least 30,100 cad (20,100 cad + 10,000 cad) And it should not be exact, some more money should be left after deducting this sum. And if he/she is self-sponsored, the visa officer might want to check how he/she will pay for subsequent years. Best wishes Grace001: |

Hello Dovelove543 BVL is Biometrics Validity Letter. When you get this letter, it means a decision has been made on your application and the decision would be corresponded soon (refusal or approval) Best wishes Dovelove543: |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by wolepopo(m): 6:14pm On Oct 17, 2020 |
BVL means Biometrics Validation Letter...but it is usually sent to an applicant after a decision had been made on his/her application. Once you get a BVL, expect a refusal letter/correspondence or a Passport Request letter/correspondence within 24 hours Nice weekend Dovelove543: |

We expect IRCC to publish list of DLIs with approved Covid19 readiness plans for their students especially international students. Students for those schools can start making travel plans from that date. adeenzo: |

Hi everyone am new here want to apply for my masters in Canada can I have an idea of schools to apply for preferably if I can get a scholarship I studies Biochemistry in my first degree and graduated with a 2-2 Thanks in anticipation |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Lekiboboe: 11:39pm On Oct 17, 2020 |
Bolyboly:Hi Bolyboly, U are Welcome...... The Minimum Requirement to apply for MASTERS in Canada is a 2.1 (2nd Class Upper). Since u graduated with a 2.2, a PGD/PG.Cert in a Biochemistry related program is what you should go for |

Hello all Please I intend to apply for a thesis-based masters program in Canada, but for my intended course most of the schools I’ve searched don’t require securing a supervisor prior to applying. Given this information Is it still necessary to contact faculty members? Because I see a lot of people doing this. Please kindly advise. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Chocs(f): 3:26am On Oct 18, 2020 |
Hello Queenmama03 If the course/ school is the type that gives everyone their prospective supervisors automatically then you can apply without contacting. But if it is the type that says a supervisor must eventually accept you before you can be admitted, then please make contact with supervisors and try to secure someone except you don’t mind the application fees going to waste if something goes wrong. You can read the admission requirements and see if it’s stated there. It usually is. If it’s not, you can send the program an email to inquire. Best wishes Queenmama03: |
