Oga Justwise - you're doing a great job, for years, and I don't want to start debating you.

Please let’s leave it at that , if you want to help prospective students openly here for all to benefit then good but anything that has to do with outside link will be treated as an ad.

I replied in less than 2 hours because you e-mailed me when I was a little free and my computer email app notify me of every incoming message. The whole October is somewhat loosed for me, unlike September. If it is time I have studies or intensive work to do, I might ignore you for 2 months! smiley Again, if you send message to someone and they did not reply, I want you to know it's not always because they are selfish or they don't care; some people are lazy at responding to their emails; some people are not checking their messages; some people registered nairaland with old email address they no longer check or add to their mobile e-mail app.
I am going to tell you; without understanding, your adulthood is not complete. Always try to see things from others' perspective. Have understanding. This is not the same as being knowledgeable or intelligent.

You're becoming too assertive in your demand for selflessness from others. I want to assume you're a selfless person yourself, because only an unselfish person have the moral ground to demand selflessness from others. To that, I will patiently wait for the time you'll get your visa and travel. I hope you will always come here to help undergraduate students like yourself.

I suggest you book an Uber that will navigate the blocked terrains. Mind you, don’t go to DHL office at Isolo. There was a generic mail sent to to me and upon arrival at Isolo, they didn’t have any of our passports. Go to VI DHL office (Muri Okunola) which I believe it’s not blocked by protesters.

Thanks. Muri is where I do my pick ups.

Thanks for this. Please the deficit you mention. In case someone has a partial scholarship like 50k out 60k Tuition fees, can we say the remaining tuition fees 10k is the deficit? Or does it include the Expensive fees like Housing, Foods etc indicated in the I-20? Thanks

Deficit is the total cost of attendance minus the scholarship, so it includes what you mentioned above as indicated on the i20

Ooh Thanks. But I have already scheduled an interview without filling another one due to scarcity of interview date. What can I do now? Can I fill another one and update my DS-160 confirmation number in the application portal (CGI)?

To All The People Answering Questions And Giving Guidelines, I Greet You All.

Please I want to go study filming/ Videography in USA and I need your guidance on which way will be easier for me as I will be sponsoring myself.
I am a HND holder in computer science with lower credit 2.58/4 though am ready to start all over if need be.

Also if I am to start over and need to evaluate my transcript, do I need to evaluate my HND (as an added advantage) or I should just evaluate only my NECO?

Good evening all. Please I want suggestions on how to present my case to the VO when I am asked after my children. I have 3 kids: 6,4 and 2 years old. I plan to go alone for now, settle down, plan myself and get them to be with me. Maybe not all of them but at least the last one. I am asking because I think my case is a bit different from the other woman because from her answer, she doesn't intend to take any of them with her. Also, I and my 2 kids been rejected a b1/b2 visa 4 years ago because of not proving my family ties in my home country .
I forgot to add that I am going for a PhD with full funding

Hi you have to keep checking. There are dates for F2 too
KushCollectible:
Hi guys,

Please has anyone heard anything bout F2 visa appointments?

I haven't been able to secure an interview.

Or is it only F1 that can get appointments for now?
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by zeeLady: 4:24am On Oct 18, 2020
Your rejection of a B1/B2 does have a bearing on your F1, from what you have stated. I was rejected a B1/B2 one year before i was given an F1 Visa. But why dont you go with your 2 years old? Prepare for questions surrounding funding for your dependent and what you intend to do to her while you go to school. prepare for questions surrounding how you plan to keep the ones you are leaving behind. Its not easy coming here with a baby, but it wil help you psychologically. I came with my last born and left my 4 year old with my husband. Also know that them getting a visa will not be automatic, but since you have full funding for PhD, your chances of bringing them over seem higher.

In my opinion, it is better she leaves them behind for now as a PhD program is very stressful. I believe she stands a better chance too because she has her husband and someone else to take care of her children which provides the requested family ties. By the way, who will take care of the baby when she goes to school daily over there?. Bringing another person will also require further cost which is not covered in her program funding.

Hi guys, I’m new here and I’ve been following this thread for a couple of weeks. Thanks to everyone who posted their transcripts, answered questions to help and guide others. God bless you guys.

Please I’ve two questions,

1- I would like to ask if applicants passports and bank statement are being withheld after visa approval.

2- Is it advisable to use myself as my sponsor? As I I’ve a better statement with good cash inflow and outflow than that of my father whom I thought I would use as my sponsor.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you all for your response. I have noted some points from your suggestions. I think it may be late to take any of them because my interview is just at the corner. God being my helper I will explain my intentions of travelling and taking the last later. I greatly appreciate your inputs.

I had the interview on the 16th October, 2020.

I booked a room at a hotel about 2.7km from the consulate. I also was fortunate to meet a driver who agreed to drive me to the consulate at 5am sharp...amd he kept his word... I almost felt goosebumps when he called me 4:59am.
Anyways, I arrived few minutes afterwards with some 5 interviewees waiting. We weren't attended to until few minutes past 6am.

Heads-up... please get all your documents and reciprocity fee ready. Some who came quite early had to fall out of the line to get their stuffs set... And trust the "boys" waiting to overbill you for your unpreparedness.
Shortly, we were ushered in and checked thoroughly and I began to fall back from my 2nd position in line to abt 5th (apparently, a razor was detected in my wallet which I had no premonition about)
Well, I entered sha...verifications and all. My ds160 was for Abuja and upon knowing, I was asked to wait so it can be retrieved to lagos' database. At this time, I was no 17th.
Gladly the consular official (I think he's the infamous Chinese) was just issuing visa o... Abt 14 plus... Only 1 got a yellow slip. I guess he took a break and another dude took over. And fast forward to me... Here it went thus..

Me: good morning
VO: yea, morning, your documents please
Me: hands over

VO: why are you going to US?
Me: I'm going to pursue a Masters degree in Engineering with concentration in petr....

VO: Why this school?
Me: well, besides the fact that it's among the top 10, the....

VO: I know, but why this particular one and not the other 9?
Me: OK, the works of prof... Quite aligns with mine interest and...

VO: so, who's sponsoring you?
Me: I was offered a research assistantship position which caters for the tuition and comes with stipends for my living expenses..

VO: are you married
Me: no

VO: do you have children
Me: no

... VO muted the microphone and started speaking with his colleague saying somethings like.. Yeah he's genuine and all and he's into a research program blah blah... Las Las...
VO : I intend to issue you a visa, go pay at counter 22 ensure your i-20 is with you blah blah...

Me: thank you.. God bless.

I'm profoundly grateful to my friend Prosper for the mockup interviews.. I don't know how to thank my God enough really.

Please if you're not in Lagos and you're scheduled to be interviewed this week... Please travel at least a day or two before your interview if you'll be using the road... The congestion is beyond terrible.

I wish you God's best always.
