Those people arriving in those buses are people that traveled out of Lagos earlier, days or days weeks earlier to different parts of the country for business, job, etc. The same way they traveled out, that's the same they return in the same bus.

This is something a child should know na. In those buses, only just a few are relocating to Lagos for the first time and permanently. Unless you have conducted a survey or interview to conclude otherwise.

Lol. 5000 * 30 days. That's 150,000 new Easterners in Lagos in one month. Lol. In a year, that's 1.8m new Easterners in Lagos. Lmao. This is the type of thing you say to drunkards in a beer parlor and they will applaud you.

At no time was it stated that Nigeria has nothing at all to offer, to some of its people.

In that line of discussion, the assertion was that Nigeria has nothing to offer to the majority of its people.

All travels in Nigeria are currently done with hi-ace buses except maybe travelers to north like kaduna

This nationwide protests is a good development, and have shown the Nigerian youths what is possible and what they are capable of

I think Tribalism will be less mainstream going forward (at least among the young ones from say late 30s downwards; as for the old cargoes, most of them are irredeemable)

I hear this protests is leading to mass release of many who were locked up in cell without trial for one year, two years etc.
That is a very wonderful achievement

My dear this protest ended in Lagos and Lekki gates and maybe to some extent Abuja......There are 774 Local government in Nigeria with more than 100,000 wards

Everyone just goes about their normal business and listens out for the outcome of the protest

Nigeria is really bigger than my imagination

yes it has been my dream for youths to prostest so the leaders should know there is a repercussion for their actions which might include physical harm ....u can't just increase fuel, vats, electricty, devalue, stamp duty ,lock boaders all at the same time after 4 months of lock down ...it show poor leadership skills

I disagree

We had the protests in Ogun state and other Northern states
Even in ilorin as well

From what I read on Twitter
The protests are spreading to even Zamfara states and I think Niger state

If you are on Twitter
Go and check this hashtag #SecureNorth
You will be amazed

Northern youths rejecting the narrative that this protest is a southern protest against their Bubu.

Something indeed has awakened in Nigeria
This current discomfort we are feeling is the price we have to pay

And the bodies that have fallen did not and will not be in vain

You will be surprised at how the states will function better when the exclusive and concurrent lists are burnt and discarded
Then a fresh one written up

How can the federal government that is in abuja be breathing down the neck of those in faraway Lagos, Sokoto, Yobe and Akwa Ibom?
The closer government is to the people
The more effective they are

Imagine Washington DC bearing the burden Abuja is bearing for 50 states

Even though I do not know what the role of exclusive and concurrent list is for, but I can tell you for free that even if you burn that list, state governors will look for another excuse.
My proof: Portable water supply and grade b roads are not con those list, how have the states fared in both items. NO state in Nigeria (I hear Calabar has though) has the supply of portable water to their homes. Those list is one of the long list of excuses we hold on to when we want to justify our reasons for not succeeding as a nation.

Too early in the week to wander into political discussions especially one of the most emotional issue in the country. I think we are threading on dangerous ground here.

What should we expect this week, will dollar increase? will the stock market continue its rally? How will CBN react to the effect of #endsars on the economy. Considering how this year has gone with Covid and now #endsars, what will the financial report of this year? How many companies will survive this unprecedented year?

WE really need to stay off politics here, let us not kill this thread.

You are right, tribal/ethinic discussions can escalate real quick. This is because people are "extremely" emotional about their tribe.

There are few things I try not to trouble people about: religion and tribe.

It's tribes that build industries, tribalism is the easiest way to build industry........ You can't take banking away from the Jews, you can't take plumbing from the Irish, you can never take machining away from Germans and Japanese.......
Once we get the tribal and political culture right we can move into the realm of economics else waring factions keep propping up

Wow!

You see that's another thing

The masses need to be educated about the role of each arm and segment of government

Some governors in the south conveniently point fingers at the FG and Buhari for jobs that the governors are supposed to do
I'll give you example
In Bayelsa and Abia states
The masses there (well some of them ) still believe that the problems in the state is 100% FG fault undecided

That's why Abia state is in its state and the people are yet to deal badly with that useless man and his predecessors

Their eyes will open
And when it does
They will not escape retribution

Do you mind explaining this? Historically, it has led to a lot of wars and bitterness. I think you are mixing culture, national pride with tribalism.

That is your own opinion and you are entitled to it
Who knows
You maybe right about the Occupy Nigeria casualties

However
I know that this one is different

What has happened is pointer to what is to come
Nothing good came easy

It's very convenient for some of us to be complicit because of the comfort we have been able to build for ourselves
But when I think of what happened to Honduras and the possibility of it happening here

I just pity all these "upper middle class people "
Because when shit hits the fan
We will be the biggest losers
The vast majority of Nigerians at this point have little to live for and #WeDieHere is the stance they have taken

So think about it while you talk about how the agitation has been in vain

Occupy Nigeria o
Every agitation will culminate into something
