Hello Naira Landers, I have been quietly reading and following up comments in various sections especially this Canada Study Permit Section. I am running a Study Permit Application for my brother and I wish to share his timeline below; Second Time Applicant; First Application was refused in March 2020. Application Submission: May 8 Medical Request: July 22 AIP: September 8 Correspondence Letter: October 21 Application was for Fall 2020. School agreed to defer to Winter 2021 since there were delays. School is University of Ottawa, M.Eng Engineering. They are on the DLI COVID-19 list. There is no Office address on both AIP and Correspondence Letters 3 Likes |

Its 45 days into my application (submitted Sept 7th) and yet no contact from canada sigh.. My application just shows review of eligibility and processing background checks (ps. I have done biometrics before from my previous travel to canada, so no need for biometrics request)... I will continue to keep the faith and I know it will end in praise, may this year be favorable for us 3 Likes |

Maybe we can learn from this ; *IRCC WEBINAR for Indians OCT 22* 1. Your visa will be in a deactivated state if your college is not on the covid ready list (those who have visas) 2. If you have an AIP for 2021 then you must have deffered and if you did then you have to notify the ircc about the defferal with a new loa via the webform 3. for the classes starting in 2021 you will get a normal visa (NO AIP if you have an aip send them the new LOA via webform) 4. All the applications will be on hold if the said DLI is not yet on the list. only those application who's DLI's are on the list will be prioritised and also advances to 2nd stage. 5. If you have completed 1 full year online you are still eligible for PGWP (for 1 year programs) 6. If your college is on the list you can travel anytime for sept students irrespective of the mode of delivery (3 weeks prior before the class start date for jan students) 7. VFS will open stage wise (Delhi vfs is open for accepting passports) 8. There is no date on vfs yet discussions are going for November opening. 9. No POE is needed if your DLI is on the list. carry your loa, quarantine package list (or ur quarantine plans), passport and visa. 10. when they know when vacs will open then they will prioritise who has to give biometrics first. 11. No ppr's will be issued without biometrics (my ppr is on hold due to no bio) 12. passport requests will be sent to students who's DLI is on the list. 13. Quarantine plan is at the college discretion. 14. you can give biometrics in another country but you cant give biometrics at the port of entry (no bio no visa) 15. DLI list will be updated every 2 weeks (dli can update you before the 2 week time). *SOURCE :- IRCC WEBINAR* *©️KSA* 5 Likes |

Hello, Please gurus I need your help, when I was applying for study permit, I was told police clearance is optional, so I didn't submit one. Please could that be the reason the embassy has been quiet? Please how safe is this for my application? If it is not safe, can I still add the police clearance to my application? I received AIP on August 6, medicals (passed), and biometrics (completed Sept 1) and I have not received any update since then. I was counseled on Monday to apply for GCMS notes which I submitted yesterday. Please what should I do? |

Dee4Doyinsola:Nice... I believe all will work out well. I heard that applications submitted before mid sept will be processed through the 2-step approach, since my application falls into that category (submitted before mid September) what do you think I should be expecting, AIP or medical request?? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by adeenzo(m): 9:35am On Oct 22, 2020 |
Dee4Doyinsola:If they need a police clearance they will surely inform you, cos I too I didn’t submit any police clearance because I wasn’t asked to do so at the point of my application 1 Like |

The VO does not believe that going to Canada to study Occupational Health and Safely Management is a reasonable expense, probably because you did not clearly state in your SOP, your reason for studying the course, your long and short term goals when your are done with your studies. And how it also correlates with your present work experience or employment(which you must expansively talk about) or past degree. Create a specific paragraph for Home ties where you can talk about your family ties and home investments. Explaining to the VO why you must return immediately to Nigeria after your studies aduomayebe: |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Engager69: 10:09am On Oct 22, 2020 |
Chydon4God: Make it banking related because of your work experience, and I would advice you not to mention your initial masters. Doing that would not show career progression as the VO would expect you to go for a PHD since you already have a masters. Except you can explain without a doubt why the second masters would be of outmost important to you. But I advice you not to talk about your initial masters. |
