Today is a day of Pentecost, the baptism of fire by Holy Ghost. I am a baby Christian so I ask the elders in the Christendom whom may be Elders, Pastors, Reverends, Apostles, Bishop, Archbishop and even Pope should tell me because I want to learn. An angel is a messenger of God... engrsyer:See, when I read things like this, I wonder if it is not the case that people set themselves up to fail, where God is concerned, by their own lack of confidence in God Himself. You claim to be a believer... yet you defer to people(flesh and blood) for wisdom that you can get directly from asking God Himself who you claim to believe in. Don't you think that by doing that you show that you do not trust Him at all? Do you think God would be happy with that? |

Blabbermouth: Thanks for calling my attention to this! And for the baby Christian, I'll advice you to do more reading of the scripture and attend Sunday school. Angels and Holy Spirit are different entities. Angels are created and they are persons Holy Spirit is uncreated and also a person. |

engrsyer: God is a spirit, he first created many spirit lifes in heaven, they are called angels (messengers). As a spirit God sends out a form of force that he often use to accomplish his purposes, this is what is known as the holy spirit in the Bible, unlike angels who have their own minds and can choose to obey or disobey God's orders, the holy spirit has no mind of it's own. It only does what God sent out to do!  |

Why would anyone who believes in God and believes that God's word is truth, go to sit in a building men call a church in order that a mere man who claims to be of God teach them "lies" in the name of God? Yes, they teach lies... i.e. doctrines and rules of men which Jesus Christ warned His followers to beware of.....The leaven of the Pharisees ( the doctrines and lies of men). |

God Himself is a Spirit. John 4:24: "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." 2. Gods angels are also spirits. Heb 1:7: "And of the angels he said, Who makes his angels spirits , and his ministers a flame of fire." 3. Gods angels are Holy Mat 25:31: "When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit on the throne of his glory:" However, whenever the bible qualify the Spirit in question as "THE HOLY SPIRIT", it means God Himself in His capacity as THE FATHER/SOURCE of ALL Spirit that is HOLY. But due to the power confined in him after his earthly assignment, God gave Jesus that power to also emit energy (force) without having to move up and down. Apostle Peter said in the old time, "the SPIRIT OF CHRIST in them (believers) spoke expressly" Which means The Holy Spirit isn't something Christ has access to after His earthly mission but from time immemorial. Tell us another lie, this is too cheap. Due to problem in translation there could be little mix up but if you consider the same verse in other translations then you'll find out that the verse never said God's active force has a mind of its own! And you can't name the Translation. Can you provide at least 5 New Testament Translations apart from the one you provided above, so that we can cross check them? Meanwhile, even the translation you quoted can't save you either because it says "it is PLEADING IN HARMONY with God..." It shows that verse proves Holy Spirit has the mind of His own because what doesn't have MIND can't be PLEADING IN HARMONY WITH GOD. |

Emusan:It might sound like error but what i meant is God first created many spirits (angels) he started from one known as the first born of all creation So Holy Spirit is ETERNAL, in simple word.This active force is God's property so he gave Jesus the right to make use of it after Jesus has accomplished his redemption work {John 19:30} that's why he could say after his resurrection "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me"! Matthew 28:18 But the Holy Spirit was CALLED the Spirit of Christ.Not different FORCES here but the same HOLY SPIRT said to be SPIRIT OF CHRIST.There are many texts translated "Spirit" it doesn't mean the holy spirit (God's active force) so if you're not careful you'll think it means the same thing. The spirit of Christ connotes the love of Christ that moves many into doing so many things prior to his coming, during his lifetime and after his ascension. For instance we can say "the spirit of music has been right from ancient times till today" this simply means there has always been music lovers. So God makes Christ to be ALL POWERFUL, that's nice! It was his father's property so if the father allowed the son to make use of it doesn't means it has been splitted or doubled. But Christ says somewhere else that He will be the one who will send the Comforter.Of course Jesus was given the right to emits the energy after his earthly assignment, as for what the Apostle said it simply means the love for the Christ has been operational even before Jesus' arrival! engrsyer: The Angels are holy. They are spirit too. However, I think that by the Spirit of God that Christ said would descend, it is a different kind of spirit. It is in my opinion, a form God himself that remained on earth to interact with men to produce fruits of the Spirit ... To give us His nature of holiness (holiness is what we produce). 4:7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.4:8 ... who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit. 1 Thessalonians Angels on the other hand a many, with varied authority (powers,) roles, responsibilities. Their roles are limited compared to the Holy Spirit which seems to refer to the entire nature of God |
