Folarin ‘Falz’ Falana, singer, actor and activist, has said Buhari’s promise to reform the police was infuriating and frustrating as his administration had been making the same promise of reform since 2017.

He said this in an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, when a short clip of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Thursday’s speech was played.

In the clip, Buhari said SARS was scrapped in response to the #EndSARS campaigners’ demands and extensive police reforms were underway.

When Amanpour then asked him how much stock he puts in Buhari’s pledges, Falz, who had been shaking his head cynically as the clip played, said: “It’s infuriating, annoying and frustrating. And I think that’s how everyone is feeling right now.

“They have been reforming the police for a long time and we have never seen actual action. They announced that SARS had been disbanded in 2017, 2018, 2019 and now 2020.

“They just think we are stupid. It is insensitive.”

‘I am not afraid of dying’

When Amanpour asked him if he wasn’t scared, as many young people refused to appear on camera, Falz said he was not afraid for his life, as the Nigerian situation has made death a commonplace occurrence.

Falz told Amanpour: “I am not afraid for my life because where we are right now, I feel like I can easily die by anything else anyway.

“We have a non-existent healthcare system, for example. We have a seriously high level of poverty; there is unemployment.

“We are in a critical state because of the level of corruption and mismanagement of funds that we continue to see on a daily basis.

“I can have an accident on my way to work and die because the state of healthcare is nothing to write home about. People have to travel abroad to have proper healthcare.

“We keep on saying that every single Nigerian is one sickness away from passing away.

“So what kind of life am I living any way? Why should I be afraid of dying? I am going to die anyway, so what is the point?” Falz asked Amanpour.

Oga Falz, if you get opportunity to read my comment please na beg I dey beg you let suspend every protest for now. Our collective voice has been heard by the FG and the international community.

It is obvious the protest has been successful hijacked by hoodlums and terrorist. I blame the government for not providing adequate security back up for the protesters.

The protest now has successfully turned to tribal war between the Yorubas and Hausa in Fagba area of Lagos which has claimed many lives and properties.
We are praying now not to have Yorubas and Igbo fight because many people have been saying why didn't the Igbo burn any house in the east and even when the pictures surfaces online the Yorubas are not satisfied because no attack on the palace of Obi of Onitcha or any king.

Young lives and dreams has been cut off and many families will never recover from this while some will bounce back if God Willing.

Yesterday while the attack on Ojodu police station was ongoing, shops close to the police station were looted and someone share a video about a woman crying " Please leave my market, I collected LAPO money to stock my shop. The woman was crying, she couldn't come close to the hoodlums and only God know the woman health condition now.

Falz, abeg reason we wey we no get passport photograph not to talk of International Passport, nor visa to run comot.

Let End Protest and make peace.

God Bless Nigeria

“I can have an accident on my way to work and die because the state of healthcare is nothing to write home about. People have to travel abroad to have proper healthcare.

“We keep on saying that every single Nigerian is one sickness away from passing away.
”Though God is the great healer, health workers are only trying their best”, this is a norm saying in our hospitals by our doctors anyway.

With Good health care, one can and will surely survive majority of the sicknesses killing us in Nigeria. Many corpse will still be alive today and balling with good health facilities and treatment.

A case study; Most of Nigerian rich politicians that died during the corona virus lockdown like Ajimobi, Aba Kyari et al could have got 70% chance of being alive today if there was no international lockdown, with them having access to their UK hospital where they have their treatment file and experts who have been treating them and understand the health systems of this men

If Mamman Daura wasn’t flown out of the country for treatment, he could have died in Nigeria before now.
Majority of these rich politicians have one/two ailment(s) they are nursing, but the very good health facilities out there in developed world they’ve been enjoying has been what is saving them.

I can remember early this week while I was in Ikenne in Ogun state, an old Professor who has been living in US for about 56years and seldom comes to Nigeria told me that if not for the health care policy in US, someone like him would have died a very long time ago. Incidentally, the man’s younger brother who was a professor but in Nigeria just died about a year ago.

Expecting buhari to bring real change that will benefit the entire sections of this nation is like expecting a camel to pass through the eye of a needle.

He is lazy
He is nepotistic
He is bereft of empathy to people's cause especially southerners.
He ordered the massacre in agreement with the kitchen cabinet
He doesn't have a mind of his own.
He only read pre-taped speeches written by nepotistic idiots
He JUST DOESN'T CARE.

I don't know what to call Buari anymore, na calamity the man be.

My wish is for us the youths to have this momentum till 2023 and form a political party of our own and make sure we vote in a youth who will not tell me about any fucking cabal disturbing his government.

Let's make this happen and I'm highly disappointed in any elder I see around right now.

They used thug.....it didn’t work
They used sars.....it didn’t work
They used army.....it didn’t work
They shoot protesters
And now blaming Nnamdi kanu
Wise up
The lies they used during biafra war
Cars were also destroyed at apo by thugs
Who ordered them?
1984
1993
Properties were destroyed during nadeco and abiola crisis
Nnamdi kanu wasn't around to be blame
Security agencies should be held ,they are responsible for destruction of people’s properties
Individuals can’t have such effrontery to destroy
If they don’t have back up

Sanwo-olu speaks....

The unfortunate incident that happened served as a catalyst that fueled anger and looting by thugs across the state. False news and baiting was also spread across social media further causing more chaos.
We are working to stabilise things across the state as we look to rebuild. The state team is working with the hospitals and emergency services to verify the details of everyone involved in incidents across the state.

I understand that tempers are high but we are beginning to get a clearer picture of what led us to this point, and I want to ask us to be circumspect to avoid further losses and triggering other sentiments. Do not encourage conflict through parody and innocent but inciteful words.

On our work to end police brutality, our panel is ready to begin work. We want to find justice and provide compensation for victims to the best of our abilities.
We encourage the youth to provide 2 representatives to join the judicial panel.

I want to implore Lagosians on the need to come together for genuine reconciliation to forge a better and stronger Lagos

Lagos is the center of excellence, a symbol of national pride and we need to protect it.
Once again, for all that has gone wrong in the past few days, I totally apologize.

It is my Lagos, your Lagos, our Lagos.

We will protect our home.

God bless Lagos State
