A lady has sued my uncle for impregnating her
My uncle has denied being responsible but the lady has presented a doctored video to the court purporting to be a sex tape of my uncle and her

The problem is, my uncle has already filed his defendant's witness statement to the court but we have detected that there are a few errors in my uncle's witness statements which can be used by the plaintiffs counsel against us. Please, can the errors be corrected after it has been filed at the court? If it is corrected, what would be the ramifications on the judge's ruling? Please urgent help

Of course pleadings can be amended within the stipulated time.

You shouldn’t be seeking advice on nairaland when you have already employed the service of a lawyer.

The processes can be amended...and a paternity test result can be attached and pleaded in the witness statement on oath

Well your uncle still needs the lawyer to prepare an amended copy. Wasn't the issue of fees for the lawyer properly discussed and resolved before he took up the brief. A poorly remunerated lawyer would certainly be disinterested.

I'll go with this position. You really should stick with that lawyer your uncle engaged as it'll be unprofessional to render a legal opinion on another Colleagues brief, more so he's not been debriefed. You guys find a way to warm up to him to enable you get the best out of him. He has the entire case file before him and is in a position to attend to this enquiry you seek here.
