Good day everyone , I believe we are all keeping safe ,
I got an offer to study @ university of Bradford for January Intake, please I need suggestions on what area in Leeds I can stay that is not too far to Bradford , affordable and it is equally safe for raising toddlers (5yr & 3yr). I am saying Leeds because I heard that Bradford is not too safe and all. Please I would appreciate any feedback .

Also please I would love to Link up with anyone planning to or already studying at the University of Bradford

Thanks alot @Justwise , Truth is I am not keen on Leeds o , Its just because of a few negative things I have heard about Bradford also because I will be coming with my kids , I also got an offer from Birmingham city but I love the modules being offered by Bradford and it is also accredited, Affordable and secure environs is key for me because of my youngins.

The reality is that it’s difficult to bypass the black market. Even if you open a domiciliary account, you will still need to source the FX to be deposited there from black market as I am not sure Nigerian banks will sell FX for you to deposit in a domiciliary account.
With black market. You can leave the Naira in your Nigerian account. When you get here, you will either
1. sell the Naira on this platform like a number of people do or
2. If you will be based in London. Walk into any of the Nigerian BDC stores and sell to them. They will give you £ in cash and some of them can transfer to your £ account. Transfer to your account is preferable because UK banks can be moving mad with large sum deposits.

--violent crime is almost the same with Leeds.

--with this pandemic getting a job could be harder because Bradford is one of the cities on a lockdown

No but i lived there for about 5yrs or more, basically i started life in the UK in that city years ago

This is your only viable option (including any pounds to naira in Nigeria deal a private individual might offer you).
You can't transfer any meaningful amount of naira out of Nigeria as most banks have limits around $200.

I’m presently working in Dubai as a sales representative earning 5,000 aed ( 625k naira ) tax free monthly with 2 times meal provided at work all in I have disposable income of 3,500 aed 430k naira but my friends in the Uk says I can make this amount in 2weeks so before I start to commit myself I would need your honest advice. Hello House, Got into the UK about 2 weeks ago. Started processing for accommodation while in Nigeria. A friend in Coventry help us check out the house, lovely as seen on the internet, we paid the deposit, they began the processing, some days ago we were informed we got the house, then today was called back that the landlord rejected us. Wasted 3 whole weeks. Every house we see and like, we get responses like the landlord doesnt want students. We even offered to pay 6 months rent and there seem to be no available house. is there anyone in coventry that can advise? My Quarantine will be over by saturday and im just confused.

It’s true @ mostly Asian community. But it’s still a very diverse town. Honestly I was there as a single lady so I don’t know how it will be for someone with kids but I loved bradford. And as for jobs, you will most likely move to wherever you find a job.

Also I’m not sure which course you are doing but Bradford is known for being quite intense. You will benefit from being close to campus.

That’s my opinion though but it’s been a while so things might have changed.
