Philadelphia police fatally shot Walter Wallace Jr., a 27-year-old Black man armed with a knife on the 6100 block of Locust Street on Monday afternoon.

Family members and neighbors questioned the shooting, while city officials said an investigation was underway.

Wallace’s death prompted protests in West Philadelphia. Late Monday into early Tuesday, hundreds of people protested, with interactions between police and demonstrators turning heated and at times violent.

A female sergeant remained hospitalized Tuesday afternoon in stable condition with a broken leg after being “intentionally run over” by a pickup truck, the police commissioner said, and 29 other officers suffered “cuts and bruises” from being struck by projectiles such as rocks and bricks.

Police said as of Tuesday afternoon at least 91 people had been arrested in relation to the unrest.

The protest is different from the incident that killed the black man.

During the protest, scores of Police were brutalized and injured as against the protesters being injured. The Police was afraid and didn't use deadly force even when their lives were at stake.

I thought police brutalilty is only in Nigeria. And the US were forming good masters about #End SARS.. People of this world are confused.

The mother should have handled the family domestic issues instead of calling the cops ...What did they call the cops for over a family domestic squabbles if they didn't thing their son was a threat... From the video I would say the cops did their best and had no choice but shoot and for those that wonder why American cops shoot a lot of bullets ? Its because they are trained to shoot till a target is completely neutralised and immobile , once they starts shooting they will shoot tills you can't move any of your limbs .... Families should learn when you call a cop to a family issues there is a possibility of loss of life and is the family ready for that

It is time we lend our peaceful protesters to the oppressed black people of America. They shot him 10 times which show how heartless they are. CNN should investigate who ordered the shooting. Amnesty international should push for sanctions against the US as they have been killing blacks at a very high rate. Petitions must be sent to the ICC too, we can't let this slide.
