Looking back, how did clearing our debt help Nigeria? Nigeria is still a developing country with little or no infrastructure. If those money they used to clear debts were rather invested in developing the nation like building power, rail, roads etc, Nigeria would have been better of for it now. Being in debt is not necessarily a bad thing. That's how big countries grew by taking loans from each other. Nobody will destroy Nigeria because we were in there debts. Meanwhile the country has gone back to borrowing again, showing that paying off the debts was not to the best interest of the country. We need the money.
