You can choose to believe whatever you like too. However, according to this news, there was near absence of light at UNEC in 2016.

As for standby generators, I've realized that they existed before then, but they were unstable coupled with erratic electricity supply by the PHCN.

I'm not the writer of this news.

Now we are same page cheesy
I'm correct all along. grin
" Near absence is not the same with total blackout" that is to show you i witnessed it myself not "hear say".
The protest was for the school to increase power supply( repair PHCN and Increase generator time).
It wasn't because of total black out or absence of standby generator.

We are good.

I just thought I should share this here for UI aspirants.
. The number of UI MBBS applicants keeps reducing. It's now 4605. What's the probability of a candidate with 298 in UTME to gain admission with this statistics❓

forget that 4605, your main contenders are the 300+, I think they are close to 500 in number, those with 320+ are 125, now let's assume that all this 320+ make the merit list (which is unlikely as some will still flop, but let's assume), their would be like 30 more slots for those with 300-319 to battle for(let's say they are 375 in number), don't write off the 295s-299s(your set) too looking desperately for a comeback just like you. Is it possible? yes it is. is it easy? no very difficult. But If you can score 87-90 I'm very sure you'll beat cut off. good luck!

Chemistry- Study New school chemistry AKA Ababio extensively, back it up with Lamlard chemistry, finish all the exercises. You can also use Essential chemistry in absence of Ababio

Biology- Use Modern biology. It contains more detailed information more than any other textbook, though I used Essential biology. U can also use Idodo Umeh, but Modern biology should be ur first choice

Physics- Use new school physics, Lamlard physics and All inclusive physics. Those are all you need for physics, I believe

English- Use Invisible teacher by Dele, A-Z jn English and you're good to go.

Read them very well, I can assure you 300 and above. No cap.

U should use jamb past questions for revision too. All the best.

See my guy, everything in this life is risk, make sure you score nothing less than 80 in the putme or you're a Gunner.
The putme is not hard, practice well, be conversant with decimal calculations without calculator.
know how to solve questions, read questions with speed and also with accuracy.
It's basic ssce stuff they'll ask, but you must not make mistakes.
Know how to solve without calculator, there is a way...it's important for the 25 questions in physics and also chemistry

UI putme is more of confidence than the exam itself...

Hello people of God!
How're you?
So if you're preparing for next year's jamb and you want to maximize your time, do Alevels.
And do Alevels in a school where winners you'd want to be like are.
Anyways, I recommend EAC Ibadan, even though there are some setbacks I would love to tell you about before just blowing your money, I can't say them here.
Send me a DM.

Hello.

I was mentioned to respond to your question.

Sadly, I don’t know much about IJMB.

What I can tell you is that, at Abuja, we run a relatively fast program (excluding external delays like the ongoing ASUU strike) and it is transparent.

I’d advise you weigh your options and apply to the school that presents a better chance of entry.

Best wishes.

Hello house. I'm a medical aspirant but I've taken a new approach to study Medicine. Study Biochemistry for 4~5 years in UNIBEN or some other school, do Masters for 2 years ABROAD then with that, get ease into a medical school abroad with the age factor still being on my side (don't worry about that).
I don't want my studying Biochemistry to pass this year.

What do you think about this?

Second, having just realised this, I want to study Biochemistry in UNIBEN but I've already put Medicine in POST UTME. The deadline for submission of application is on November 19th. I've already submitted this application to UNIBEN portal but with awaiting WAEC result.

What do you think I should do? Please, help me. God bless.

Unfortunately, i think it's too late to change sir. Registration closes in 9
days now and it takes at least 14 days for any change to take effect in UNIBEN database.

Your post is a little bit confusing. From Bsc biochemistry to master then mbbs abroad. Common, that would be a complex zigzag journey.

I believe you've made up your mind for mbbs that's why you submitted the application. I do not sense optimism in your words but confidence planted by someone in you overnight. Someone is definitely micromanaging your academic affairs. Future is a variable event with varying determining factors. What if it (studying mbbs abroad) does not go as planed. Do you hsve an alternative?

On the other side, the sudden new approach might be perhaps, you're skeptical about the admission. UNIBEN is not a must! You can try state or private uni if you're financially strong.

Go straight for premed and MBBS in abroad. Even if you finally settled for biochemistry, it's better there than here.

It seems you have it all figured out... nevertheless, have you stopped to quiz this your plan?

I don't know how financially capable you are but why the unnecessary stress for yourself?

I'm not faulting the M.Sc. thing. However, nobody cares about the M.Sc. when you're applying back to Medical School, to what end would it then be?

Candidly, the back and forth made me dizzy at some point.

I suggest for your sake, you go back to the drawing board and plan something more logical.

The sooner you realize there is more to life than being a Doctor, the better.

That initial "gish-gish" (euphoria) will fizzle out when you eventually get Medicine.

I wish you the best, nonetheless.

overpopulation will always be a problem in med school. I guess UNN will not learn until they lose accreditation like uniport did in 2011 then they had to stop admitting for 2 yrs. Today the class that started after the 2 years hiatus is not upto 70 with good class experience and hands on clinical experience due to lower population. So UNN should beware what they are getting into.

Used to be same story here in Uniben until they lost accreditation in 2008 or thereabouts... Unn should just beware! it's like they are tired of the precise 6 years they spend for their medical training. They lose accreditation and it becomes 7 like Uniben and Uniport, not to mention the external delays.
.
.
Dr Drajjay, it's been a while.. you must be in your finals now
