Thanks for the opinion but like I have said on this platform before. This winter semester will be mostly be hybrid, even if you defer your admission till summer semester, they will still have to attend to “enrolled students” first before summer students.

We all know there is a second wave of Covid in Germany and some part of Europe. Most universities including mine allow you to do classes online, only in the case of exams are you required to be on campus which is Feb/March 2021.

If you still wouldn’t be able to come due to travel restrictions in 2021 you can register same exams in next winter semester. The good thing is you have more time to get your blocked and wouldn’t have to be spending so much on expenses since you are not in DE yet.

My take....

SOLARPOWER1:

Stop wasting your time, the embassy will not give you date again for winter start of studies... What smart people have done since October 1st is to book again with a summer start date like mif or end of April....Defer your admission to summer or start applying for summer admission now so that you will be ready when the AD comes

Is the school's request for a letter of motivation different from the one taken to the visa office?

They're different letters in the way that they are addressed differently but you can have some composition similarities. In my 2 letters, I hyped up the city where my school was located to appeal to their conscience

I have been having online lectures with full participation as well as presenting findings using WebEx. Try the app. Nigeria situation with AD is rather unfortunately. However, there's still restrictions in Germany. Most states in Germany will be locked down soonest for another month. Let us keep praying. All is well!

Waoh!!! Abeg, which state you dey

Have anyone here tried processing travels for two countries at the same time before? Say Canada (PR) and Germany (studies).

Assuming there's already a likelihood of getting get an ITA soon.

Advice needed.

Hello guys, I'm here to share my whole admission to visa experience on this German waka. I hope this lightens the mood here because I know the mood around here is down .

So I've been on my German journey since late 2018, I tried applying to many schools for Msc admission and got loads of rejection which dampened my mood but I decided I was not going to relent. So all through 2019 I was seeking admissions in public schools and I wasn't getting any, I guess because my course of study was in high demand (Data science) which requires the best Bsc result.

In the midst of this rejection offers I decided not to relent and was a follower of this German visa thread on nairaland. I began to notice that even with admission letters, appointment letters at the Embassy was not forthcoming and so I decided to leave Nigeria.

Early this year I decided on moving to Turkey, with the aim of staying six months and then moving to Germany, at this point I had no German admission yet but I decided on pursuing it. I came to Turkey in March and during the whole lockdown I started looking out for more schools to apply to in Germany.

My plan was very simple, I would come to Turkey , stay for six months with their residence permit and then apply for German visa after getting admission to Germany. So, I was sending applications here and there while I was in Turkey here and BOOM I finally got an admission to one of the best schools in Germany (top 10 percent worldwide). At this point I already had my Turkish resident permit and was waiting for my six months to complete before I apply for the German study visa at the Embassy here.

Finally, the six months elapsed, and then I began the visa application process which was very simple and fine .

The Process here in Turkey is very simple:

1. They have a third-party body (iData) that you book visa appointments through.
2. You pay about 69 Turkish lira which is an equivalent of (4500 naira) and then they tell you in two weeks you'll get an appointment to go to the Embassy. Mine came in 9 days.
3. They sent me the required documents and everything I needed to take to the Embassy which was not a problem at all. Required documents were blocked account confirmation ( I used expatrio), health insurance which expatrio provides, original copy of your degree certificate, visa application form and biometric passport photographs and most importantly 75 euros and motivation letter.
4. And so I went to the Embassy, guys it was very smooth there.. no stress whatsoever. I got to the Embassy on time . Had a wait time of 20 minutes and then it was time to talk to the visa officer.
5. The interview questions were smooth though plenty, I advice for preparation and calmness. So at the end of the interview the visa officer told me I will be given a visa decision in 4-6 weeks and so I left.
6. Guys, exactly one week after my visa interview , I received a call from the Embassy that my passport and other documents are being shipped by UPS and they are calling to confirm my home address. I responded accordingly and they said in 2 - 3 days I will receive my documents.
7. I am glad to say I received my passport with the visa stamped.

I can say I am ready to travel to Germany and start a new phase in my life..

Cheers Everyone!! For everyone still trying and hoping to leave Nigeria for Germany or anywhere else, I believe everyone's dreams and wishes will come to pass.
please can u send me a copy of your motivation letter? I want to apply to study in Germany and i don't want to submit a weak motivation letter, thanks

LOL, and I thought you were in Nigeria that's why I was surprised how you were successfully attending fulltime online classes in this Nigerian environment.

He can update his address and get a new version of the AL...

I used Form A with Zenith Bank. Other banks won't probably grant it because BA is not school fees per say, but ZB did it for me nonetheless. Rate was 414 back then...

That's if he had a rejection from the embassy but in his case he don't
So I think he needs to go to the embassy ,he will be asked to fill a form which he will fill and then the embassy will send a mail to fintiba
