Thanks for contributing your views to the matter. We've obviously seen the spike in the number of people who want to relocate Abroad, especially as a result of so many many things going wrong in the country. It looks like Justwise might be a little out of touch with the current situation in Nigeria. The a.r.m.y is currently on a rampage in Oyo harrassing people for nothing, there have been reports of people getting killed in Rivers state and we saw what happened two weeks ago at Lekki. All of these things are worth leaving Nigeria over.

The PTSD alone is enough to give you worries. I hear any loud bang from my room and my first instinct is to move away from the window and probably find a safe spot. Serious fear upon seeing police officers/SARS because you know you are likely a victim of extortion, harassment or possibly death. Ah and yes, SARS has not ended. They are still on the streets harassing and extorting people.

There are a LOT of reasons for one to spend his last kobo on ESCAPING Nigeria. Yes, escape even if it means spending your last kobo. A lot of the folks I know who have graduated are all processing schools in the US because of this same situation.
One earns north of $1500 monthly but would rather go and spend 5 years to get a PhD. Tell me this same person would have 20k pounds lying somewhere and would not wake up the next day and land in the UK?

Today is not the day to talk about the SARS/Police brutality, or people who have been lost as a result of dysfunctional system.

A LOT of people would gladly pay if they had the money or collect loans to go for an MSC in the UK even if they do not know what is next after the MSC. It might be irrational but that's the situation where most Nigerians currently sit.

I think people shld get acquainted with the likes of Twitter and Instagram for first hand VERIFIED information and news and not rely on Nigerian tv stations and dailies.

TV stations wey dey fear to cover the end sars protests, the brave ones that managed to cover face 3mil fine.

Na only us like to discourage our people from coming over...see Asians and other nationalities full everywhere without degrees sef...them still dey see work dey survive.

I tell everyone I know o, if you can get in legally, do you best to get in...no matter the type of work you do, as long as you are patient, have a plan and you are willing to work hard then you must make am...e fit rough at the start o but last last ground must level.

If you plan to come hit jackpot on your first year then stay naija but if you are looking for a better, calmer future for yourself and your kids and you know you can work hard and long for it then the possibilities are plenty

Good day, I have been following this tread and its eye opening, but I have a few area I wish to be enlightened on;
1) Am a pharmacist resuming my masters in formulation science by Jan at Greenwich, and I plan I leaving with my wife and son as dependents, but plan not to return to Nigeria at least not willingly, what's my best chance of not getting deported or expired visa.
2) since my wife will be on dependent, does her years in obtaining ILR start counting once we get there or only ~IF~ (big if) we can get a Tier 2 sponsor
3) Can I apply for the shortage list since pharmacist are listed on it from the UK??(STEM) and what are my chances of getting the visa.
4) can one apply for Canada Express Entry from the UK if things goes south.
