Once again, Susan look down at the plate of food on the table, her eyes were scuffy, she felt dead inside, her tongue felt dry, her throat felt as if someone thrust a handful of itching powder inside.., her depression, it's been eating her up. The world no longer seems magical. The sky no longer seems limitless. The chirping of the birds no longer is a music to her ears..., her once loving heart has now been replaced by anger in both practical view and mental state and vengeance upon the one who caused her current predicament......

She no longer see the happier version of her, all she see is the darkness that lingers around the light instead of the other way around and soon there were no more colours in her world, They say there is a rope ladder out of depression, one you can use to climb out of it but she knew better.., the only thing that will make her happ

I can't believe Henry's definition of friendship does not entail pushing rightly to correct wrongs committed. EPISODE TITLE.-Rachel......










Night fall so fast upon the land. No more than an hour ago the sky was painted with hues of red, orange and pink, but all colour had faded leaving only a matt black canvas with no stars to be looked upon.., the cold breeze from outside blew right through Charana's sweater and she bowed her head to one side, closing lashes weighed down with mascara to keep out the salty sting.......

She quickly close the window and glance at her time once again, she sigh realising she needed to be home, she close the laptop in front of her, took some documents, pull out a drawer and stuffed them in....

"Andrew.."She called walking towards her office door, she peep, then she glance at both sides of the corridor...

She walk back in wondering where Andrew could be, she lower her head to the plate on the table containing a red and white capsules.., when her phone vibrated again, she grunt knowing Andrew was just wasting her time..

"Where are you, you damn mòron..."Charana sneer picking up her phone to call Andrew again, she try to relax her nerves as she wait for him to answer the call, when no answer came, she dropped the phone and walk towards her door again...

She glance at her time, it was 10:23PM, she heaved a low hiss and walk back to the table to take her phone...

"Anybody there..?"She blare out walking back to the door..
When no answer came other than the echo of her voice, she walk back in and furiously dial Andrew's number again....

"Good evening Ma.."A female voice sounds from the door..

Charana turn towards the direction of the voice, she took her gaze away only to return it to her a second later...

"Have you seen Andrew..?"Charana ask taking the phone from her ears when no answer came from Andrew's side....

"No Ma"Rachel, the girl who had joined her in the office reply...

Charana grit her teeth, then she pick up the tray of the red and white capsules, only to drop it a second later and pick up her ringing phone, after a minute of talking to the caller, she dropped the phone and turn to face Rachel..., Rachel is a stupid girl she had to employ four months ago to clean and cater for some of the mad people whose names are not in her list..., she won't probably tell the difference between a drug that intensified madness and the one that doesn't..

"Take these drugs.."Charana said carrying the tray of drugs...."Give them to the girl in room 504.."

Rachel collected the drugs oblivious to the said person...

"Make sure she takes everything..."Charana added picking up her handbag from the table...."Would have given her the drugs myself but I'm running late, so don't mess this up for me.."

Rachel slightly lower her head to look at the drugs, she recognised them, her four months of working in the mental asylum, she had dedicated most of her time in studying the drugs that's been given to the patients, she had come to know the ones that does the job and the ones that worsens one's health, but she had never let anyone know what she knows, especially doctor Charana and her cohorts..., she needed the pay, so she just chose to be quiet to save her job..

Many times she had thought of resigning and making plans towards another job, there was a day she decided to take a leave, she told the doctor she was sick and couldn't make it to work, she made every possible attempt of securing a new job on that day but all to no avail.., after a thorough search with no result than the popular..'We'll get back to you'..She bounce back to her current job...

"I won't Ma.."She said wondering who their target is now..

Sometimes the idea of resigning scares her, she has heard the other nurses whispering to each other of how the doctor had killed a nurse that resigned before , it's rumored that the nurse find out secrets she shouldn't know and she went down for it, though there's no proof authenticating the rumours and this has made her shoulder the thoughts off..., but from the few things she had seen for the past few weeks, she's beginning to believe there could be an atom of truth in the rumour...

"And I must warn you..."Charana said stepping outside..."Be careful, she's dangerous and violent..."

Four years ago, the word dangerous and violent may have scare her but since the dead of her parent, nothing scares her, when you see death face to face, you just have to jump lines between fears and boldness, witnessing her parent die was traumatising, since then she has seen life as nothing but a piece of crap that encourages you to cease to exist when you eventually get tired...

"I'll be careful Ma..."She said, her voice trailing low than she expected...

With a signal from Charana, she stepped out from the room and began to make way for the room when Charana's voice stopped her in her tracks..

"Make sure she takes everything.."Charana said from behind her..

Rachel turned to face her with the alertness of the words...

"Especially the red pills..."Charana added before she close her door and lock it with the key..., she stole a last glance from Rachel before she turn to walk away..

Rachel stood looking at her until she disappeared out of sight, she sigh and began troting towards the room, she remenbered the last insane man she was asked to give some drugs, the man nearly bit her fingers off while snatching the drug from her.., she chuckle remembering how she had to act to calm the patient ....

With a deep breathe, she hold the door knob when she got to the room.., then she looked at her right side and her eyes fell on one of the light bulb in the walkway turning on and turning off, then it turned off and never came up again, she look away realising that's another bulb in the last three days that has gotten bad...., she pull down the door knob, a cold chill she had never felt before run down her skin.., perhaps it could be the odour that greeted her the moment she opened the door that was running through her, not really fear..she defeated fear a long time ago..

She looked up, the light bulb was turn on, that's a relief, she took another step in searching the room with her eyes but there was no sign of anyone..., she fully entered the room and look around..., there, right behind the dirty mattress, she saw a head, she took another step closer with the intentions of taking a closer look..., when the patient suddenly stood up, she shift aback nearly collasping in the enormity of the shock....

Anita flick her head to the one side, she remained in that position for a while as if her brain was trying to comprehend what was going on.., engrossed in her insanity, she reposition her head to look Rachel, her now smelling weavon tangling in her face....

Rachel set a foot back, she took another deep breathe, took a look around the room and set her gaze on Anita again...

"I brought you your drugs..."Rachel said grabbing a bottle of water she saw on the floor, she opened it and smell it to be sure it's really water, satisfied, she capped it back and revert her gaze to Anita..., when Anita flick her head again and the straps of her hair curled in the corners of her face revealing her full face, Rachel shift back again thinking hard where she had seen her before..., there it crossed her mind......

Humblegirl.., the girl from nairaland, the one who did a video of her story been plagiarised...., Rachel stepped back again as her thoughts began to catch up.., she could have sworn Samuel had given her money when she didn't hear anything from her again after the video she made....

"You..."Anita mutter before she slapped herself to swat invincible flies..

Rachel flinch at the action as her head began to bubble with unanswered questions..., but she's sure of one thing, if Anita is here after making a video to the whole world about her story been plagiarised..., then someone is behind it..someone wealthy, someone with enough power.., someone like the one who stole her story and made it his..., she stepped back almost falling when Anita rushed at her..

"Anita...."Rachel blare out before Anita could hold her.....

With unblinking eyes, they stood staring at each other, Rachel snapped out of it realising Anita stopped at the mention of her name..., she isn't gone yet, she's still there, though her brain is in jeopardy but she's still there, somewhere, somehow, a tiny piece of her remembers who she is...

"Anita.."Rachel called again this time with more boldness......."Anita.."She said again ignoring the bad stench from her body....."You're humblegirl., humblegirl from nairaland..., I'm one of your biggest fan.."

Rachel breathe heavily, then a smile creep into her Face thinking she was getting through to her.., all of a sudden Anita laugh, the crazy type of laughter, then she left her and ran back towards the end of the room..., she rock back and forth, all the while banging her hands rhythmically on her lap......

"Anita.."Rachel call out again approaching her this time

Anita spun around suddenly to face her, then she set her teeth and snarl and began to mumble words, no word connected to what came before....

Rachel jaw dropped, she only stated her story was stolen and they made her mad..., with the drugs in her hand, she walk towards the door and look at both sides of the corridor, when she saw no one coming, she close the door and took out the red pills from the tray and pocket them, the red pills aggravate her insanity, she had seen the doctor giving them to Bulchama, she sees what it does.., it heightens the severity of madness..., she look at the other side of gown pocket and took out the remainders of the sleeping pills she had taken the previous day to take a little rest from her unsettled mind

"Anita..."She said taking the white pills and sleeping pills in her hand and extending to her...."Please take this..."

Anita laugh hysterically, then she forcefully snatched both pills from her hand and in a swing, she threw them in her mouth and swallow them....

"Water..."Rachel said and uncapped the bottle of water..., her voice brewing with pity..

Anita hesitated before she snatched the water from her and empty it in her mouth, then she threw it on the floor and ran to a corner...

"Anita..."Anita mutter with a follow up laughter...."He called us Anita after he stole our story...thief, thief..."

Rachel wipe the tears threatening to fall from her eyes.., she turn around with the intentions of getting a drug for Anita, a better drug that will get her back..., get her mind back..., she opened the door only to be thrown aback with the sight of the person standing at the door....

Rachel bit her lip, eyes on Andrew who's standing at the door, then he moves closer with eyes that look so deeply into her own...

"What are you doing here...?"He ask suspiciously...

Rachel's eyes moved from him to Anita and then to him again...."What do you think..?"She stated brusquely, body pushed him and walk outside..

"I'm talking to you.."Andrew retorted following her..

Rachel stood but only to take a breather..."The doctor ask me to give her her meds"

"She'll never do that.."Andrew replied doubtfully

"You weren't here..., so she asked me.."

He lick his lips, she have a way of not mincing her words and he find that charming, since she was employed he's been having an eye on her.., imagine the feel of his body against hers....

"Anything else.."Rachel snapped noticing his gaze on her breast...

"What meds did you give her..?"He queried

Rachel frown at the question.."Her meds.."

"I asked what meds..?"

"You should direct the question to the doctor."She retorted almost immediately

He suck his teeth, finding her line of answering questions rather amusing than offensive, perhaps it's because he likes her..., he wore a smile and step closer to her......"What are you doing after now..?"

She curl her lips almost at the verge of walking out on him.."Busy..."

"Busy sounds like nothing.."Andrew said..."Why don't you come over to my office.., let's get busy..."

Rachel scoffs knowing where he's heading...."I have things doing Andrew.., why don't you find someone else who'll happily obliged to get busy with you.."

"It's you I want.."He said, his voice raising than he expected.."Stop pretending, I know you want me too.."

She eyed him.."Bye Andrew.."She said turning around to walk away but he grabbed her hand and spun her around to face him..

"How much do you want to sleep with me..?"Andrew ask holding her hand firmly...

Forcefully, she took her hand from his hold..."No amount of money will make me sleep with you.."

"You want it.."He said grabbing her hand again and taking it close to his trouser flap, making sure her fingers grasp the length of his bulge...

She separates her hand from his grip and took a step back..."You're a pervert..."

Without another glance at him, she walk out looking back to be sure he wasn't following her..

Making no sound, Rachel close the infirmary door the moment she was inside..., she thank know her stars her four months of been here she's been able to study where the different types of drugs were been kept..., she quickly reach for a drug, took a half dosage of it and drop in a plastic plate, then she look around for anything she could use to pound the drug into powder..., she found a container, she took it up and with a force, she hit it on the drugs breaking them into pieces, then she plucked a paper from the pages of the record book on the table and pour the powdered drugs into it....

She took a syringe from one of the storage, drop it and pour the powder into the syringe chamber, she added a little water to liquidize it before she dashed out of the room...

She walk in the corridors looking back at every slightest noise, as she walks she prays and hopes Andrew doesn't see her..., she quickly open Anita's room door the moment she got there.., she heaved a deep sigh before she locked it, then she drew nearer, Anita was already asleep in the same spot she had left her, it's probably the sleeping pill already taking effects, she didn't waste anytime, with shaking hands, she attacked the needle to the syringe and walk towards Anita, then she grab her hand, look for a spot that wouldn't kill her, she shut her eyes, mutter a silent prayer, reopen her eyes before she prick the needle in her hand injecting every bit of the drug inside her.., when it got finished, she checked her pocket and took out a cotton wool, she wipe off the blood caused by the needle and stood up hoping when Anita wakes up she'll feel better..less mad.., more alive......, Doctor Charana can't keep messing with everyone...

She sniffle before she began to walk towards the door, she reach for the door knob, when she opened it..., her eyes peered wide by who she saw..., every part of her went on full operation as she lock eyes with the person facing her...., she look back at Anita and then at the person.., her brain run in full speed trying to imagine what could possibly happen next......
