True. I think people just try to build reasons around ones story especially when it's not approval. An approved visa does not mean the person has no flag. There are a lot of factors that do play in this thing, people shouldn't forget that.

Actually this is valid. And the sad part is that as much as it helps people learn, it also gives the party involved 1001 reasons why they messed up and impacts their emotional state negatively especially if they haven’t recovered from the pain of being denied.
Posting a denial transcript is not an easy one though but we go all survive this phase laslas

I’m not, but since the available date is way beyond start of my program, I decided to apply nevertheless. Besides, zeelady says it doesn’t matter whether you’re within 60 days to the start of your program or not.

I’m not sure it was regular because I was denied initially. I only rescheduled for Abuja and December 14th pop up and I picked it.

The main question should be whose name is on your I20 as sponsor? is it the same as the one in your DS160? if the answer to both questions is Yes then the person may simply print a statement of account for you for maybe from last month or most recent statement that has sufficient balance to fund your studies.(provided its not too old)

if you choose to change the name to your sister or use the funds in your account your sister wants to send, then you may need to reach out to your school to get your I20 updated to reflect those changes and change that in your Ds 160 accordingly.

Finally nothing guarantees a visa but you want to remove obvious stumbling blocks like explaining the discrepancy in funding and I20 information and bloated statement of account for interview from funds your sister sent to your account (if its even asked for)

Remember your interview will be less than 5mins and its your job to convince the VO your a genuine student with ability to fund your education legitimately then leave the rest to God/Allah. History/statistics has shown most VO's operate under the guise of "if in doubt, reject first" which leaves you having to reapply to correct that doubt

I sent a mail as regards his request about re filling the ds 160 form but I got a response that once it is submitted, you cannot make changes.

Yes, I contacted the ISSS immediately I was told to defer so, another I 20 was sent to me with a spring start date.

If your interview is still at least 3 days, you can make the changes now. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Put your DS-160 ID, it will tell you to retrieve it, do that and fill the new form then update the new ID on your visa page

Someone shared a transcript recently. He was interviewed in Lagos and his Ds-160 stated Abuja. They changed it for him at the embassy but since your interview is still next week,you can retrieve your Ds160 and make the necessary corrections but if you have submitted,just fill another one and update it on your visa page.
