Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have rescued a stranded girl on Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos, Igbere TV reports.

A tweet by the group on Wednesday said the girl identified herself as Aisha Yusuf.

The RRS urged the public to inform her relatives about her whereabouts.

“At about 6:30am today, our officers on patrol along 3MB came across this little girl, Aisha Yusuf, wandering. She could barely give any other information asides her name. If you know her relatives, she has been taken to Adekunle Police Station,” the tweet read.

Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Adamu visited Lagos on Tuesday to assess the level of damage following the vandalisation of police stations across the state.

Have you ever wondered why the Rapid Response Squad is apparently the most effective and people friendly unit of the Police? It's because the unit is funded and partially controlled by the Lagos State government through the LSTF. Those who argue for the decentralisation of the Nigerian police, would find RRS as a good example of what can be achieved with state police
