Thank you so much for your response.
The reason he's going with his family is because he has a foreign wife - who cannot stay alone in Nigeria while he's gone for that long. They have travel history and valid visa to the USA. Is it not enough to show they are not planning to migrate?

Chukwubuikexo:
A student Visa for two years study and he is taking his children, the Visa Officer might see this as a means of migration rather than studies. That aside, his family needs to get their medicals done too

Yes, I can study online, but my school sent a letter out mandating, that even though classes will be online, students must be at edmonton (NAIT) to pick up resources needed to study from home. and my resumption date is 6th of JAN.

I have booked my appointment for the 20th of November (That was the available date I could find) I believe before 20th I would have gotten my medical request from Canada.

Even if the request doesn't come by 20th you can still do an upfront.

It is well.

God will perfect it.

Hello,

Less than two weeks (info from someone who submitted recently)
rebecausoro:
For all the old timers here, please how long does it usually take for Lagos VAC to process and return passports on the average? Mine was delivered yesterday and since those who submitted since last two weeks are yet to give us feedback, I must assume that it takes well over 2 weeks. Would that be correct? I'm just curious because I want to start planning ahead of an estimated time.

Hello fam,
Pls I need a response urgently on this.

Pls is gift deed advisable for study visa. I noticed it is mostly advised for EE. Just want to know if it could work for study visa too. Also do I need to present the account statement of the person giving the gift or just the affidavit and gift deed would do.

I'm getting a gift deed that would cover my living expenses and tuition from my parent. But want to be sure it works

Hello,

You can apply, get busy with a voluntary work. If you can get something related to the course you’re going for, that will be even better.

If you’re still young, it won’t be expected that you should be fully established. Show documents proofing your parents jobs and attach proof of their assets eg landed properties.

Write a strong SOP (statement of purpose) mention you’ll come back after your studies and show how the course you went for will be used in your home country.

All the best
KahyePubg:
Hi guys
Got a question and its really freaking me out.
While doing some personal research I heard that apart from showing sufficient proof of funds, one of the reasons a study visa may be rejected is insufficient ties to home country defence. I just finished serving last year and I am yet to get a job so I don't have any work experience...will this limit my chances..I.am really freaking out
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Chocs(f): 6:53am On Nov 06, 2020
Hello,

You do not need to apply separately for the letter of introduction. They send it with your counterfoil to your GC account.

A known person who recently submitted their passport received the counter foil and letter of introduction in their GC account a few days after the passport was received at IRCC Lagos.

Keep calm and expect. All the best
Kunnmi:
hi,
please has anyone received their passports back after submission? please how long did it take after submission to vfs lagos! does it also come with the letter of introduction automatically or I have to apply separately.
anybody help me with answers, please.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Chocs(f): 6:56am On Nov 06, 2020
Hello,

They can transfer the living expense to you(they can send more than 10k cad if they wish) the transfer should reflect their name. They can also pay your 1 year tuition. They’ll state in the sponsorship letter that they’ve done all that, then you’ll attach proof too(tuition receipt etc) . And yes you should submit their bank statement.
I’ve found that this has worked for many applicants. But it’s not the only way to a successful application though.

All the best

U welcome

Go to the Living In Canada Thread & Ask, HR professionals there would be able to give a detailed response on that (Based on their Experience from Study Route to PR and getting an HR Job)

See link below
https://www.nairaland.com/4933819/living-canada-life-canadian-immigrant/393

Well it ain't an issue to wait a whole year, The world ain't settled due to COVID-19 Pandemic, many programs in Canada had no choice than to defer to September 2021, cos some Programs can't be done online e.g Medical , Mining, Environmental related programs and some programs has only September intakes

So you can use that whole 10-11 months to Prepare yourself for Admission & Study Visa Application.

Yes there are PG. Cert. HR programs for May 2021 (Winter) e.g PG. Cert in HR at Cambrian College, Ontario has a Spring 2021 intake, probably you didn't google the schools in the link I sent you

See link below, and google the schools
https://www.collegesinstitutes.ca/our-members/list-of-degrees/?fwp_search_by_keyword=Human%20Resources%20management&fwp_program_levels=graduate-certificate

Though their Tuition is quite on the high side like around $15,000 CAD upward, so NBCC or NSCC seems like your best shot for PG.Cert in HR based on low tuition
chief, the human resource management PGD IS CLOSED .... wetin man go do now sad sad sad sad

One thing this Study Visa Journey has taught me is PATIENCE

My little advice for TRV hopefuls & Future Applicants

1) I will encourage every applicant to fulfil all righteousness when crafting their Canada study application

Remember "No Two Application is the Same" (there are many factors attached to this statement such as - different academic backgrounds, work experience, Marital Status, the Visa Officers reviewing your application & lots more)

2) Avoid any form of assumption that a Visa Officer won't need this or that, do your due diligence.

3) Show Career/Academic/Logical Progression most especially your Degree/Work Experience should be resonating with the Program you are going for

also,

Show Progression in the qualification of Program you are going for e.g
- B.SC grad (2.1) going for a Masters
- B.SC grad (2.2) & HND grad going for a PGD/PG. Cert/ Post Baccalaureate Diploma

If you have a 2.1 and you want to go for a PG. Cert, endeavor to show cogent reasons in a convincing manner in your SOP why you are going for a PG. Cert instead of a Masters Degree

4)- Assume yourself as a VISA OFFICER, assess your documents, read ur SOP to urself and point out your errors.
- Also regarding ur SOP, avoid any form of Plagiarism to the bearest minimum.
- Show Originality when writing your SOP,
- Be 100% Patriotic - don't say unpleasant things about Nigeria on your SOP, how you can upgrade your career and also help in the improvement of the Nigerian Economy after studying in Canada is very Paramount, talk about it in your SOP.
- Avoid Grammatical Errors in your SOP
- Subheadings Will make your SOP readable, don't write your SOP in Composition/Essay Manner
- Any thing you mention in your SOP, make sure you have a document that confirms it.

5) Read Success Stories of Applicants that have gotten Approval in the Past, most especially from 2018 till date, you might just see an applicant with your exact kind of profile that got approval which u can learn one ot two things from.

6) Also, if you are on the verge of starting or submitting your application, endeavor to ask questions in the forum on things u are not clear of. There are many things you gonna learn here that an agent don't know about or won't even tell you.

If you are an Applicant going for Masters/PH.D, this thread is a training ground for you to learn how to do research before the real research, so don't feel bad if someone tell you to start reading from Page 1, u gonna gain a lot.

7) Take your time and read this Thread Explicitly.
I never had an iota of experience on Canada Study Visa application. Reading this thread in my leisure period for a year helped me tremendously and this made my application strictly DIY (do-it-yourself)

cool Finally,
after Submitting your application, Talk to God to take Control/Charge of your Study Visa Processing, cos in every situation (good or bad) God will still be God.

As we all know the motto of this forum
"it will end in Praises (in frankrobbn's Voice)"

I'm wishing all applicants awaiting a decision from IRCC a FAVORABLE ONE

Remain Blessed Honorable Sir's & Ma's!!!!

Please I'd like to ask, for programs with co-op option, can one add the experience gained during this period as part of Canadian work experience in the future? I'm asking cos there's an arguement over this, between me and my friend and it's important I/we understand this before taking any decision. Somebody please come to our rescue, thank you.

Please help, I want to re-submit my application by next week

My GCMS file dropped yesterday and the reason for my rejection was stated.

I applied for PGC in Global Business Management @ Centennial College though I have HND in Statistics and also ICAN chartered accountant with over 6 years of working experience. Since I can't apply for Masters Degree except doing PGC because I actually wanted to do an MBA in Business Administration.

I was refused based on the attached documents.

I want to reapply, please any information or direction to go about this will be appreciated.

Hi all,
I applied for study permit and i have received a mail requesting for mypassport but in theletter it states that my passport expiry date must cover my study period because permit expiry datewould be the same as my passport expiry date.
My questions;
1. Is this possible? shouldnt it be the expiry date on the program not my passport?
2. if so i need to plan to process my Nigerian passport renewal. I am looking to renew in the USA.

Nigeria has 3 embassies in the US; New York,DC and Atlanta. I want to know which one is currently processing the renewal faster. PLEASE YOUR RESPONSE IS MUCH APPRECIATED, would it be too much to also ask for someone's contact at the embassy who could be of assistance.
