Got a 120A Felicity Charge Controller from @justcallmenuel last weekend for a good price. I was a bit crossed with him because he didn't keep up with his promised delivery timelines. He promised he can dispatch same day, but I didn't get the controller until 3-days later and I needed it urgently because one of my CCs just crapped on me without warning.

But, I'm ultimately happy with the purchase. Thank you @justcallmenuel.
smileysorry for the delay in sending it that day as promised. So many things came up that’s why. I was later calling to apologize for the delay and to know if you’ve taken it but you didn’t pick up, I understand why anyway and I’m sorry. Ma binu (in yoruba language). Thank you too and I’m glad you’re enjoying the controller smiley

Now this is a lithium battery I will be scared of. Let me ask people who use these "power walls" what happen if a few of these numerous batteries go bad?

What's the battery configuration you have there?

What's your nominal voltage?

@Bold
Sure! It was a test that lasted about 5minutes only and the inverter temperature peaked at 53deg. C

What's the name/specs of the inverter

I pushed my 5.5KVA Hybrid Inverter to the limit to test it's ability to handle load. I ran three 1HP Aircon, two 1200w water heater, one big deep freezer and a 4-door refrigerator on it simultaneously. It handled like breeze. These hybrid inverters have really come of age.

I stopped at 5211VA, not because the inverter cannot handle more but I simply ran out of loads.

See the peak data on the attached image.

Cool, experience with mine is similar and temperature in my case never got to 50C. I will give that to the modification I did on the inverter fan.

Bet the overload alarm tripped with each succesive start up of the 1hp ac?...inverter ac? And you started with acs first, then freezer then water heater.
Whats the make of your hybrid inverter.

Good you let it run for only 3mins, things may likely have gone south, if allowed to run longer..

Ring batteries From Batteryclearinghouse on eBay. Just Google. When I bought it was 30% cheaper.

Nothing to be scared of. Test your cells, use a good bms, you go to sleep.
I use batrium BMS with a shunt trip.

Am running 15s, at 4.05v max, which is 60.75v.
Min 3.0v per cell. Which is 45v. I hardly get to the minimum.

I have 120p (230AH) running, will add another 160p(496AH).

The link to your source of Batrium BMS?

60.75v. 48v inverters max out at 60v when overvoltage protection trips. So which inverter do you use that gives that more allowance?

The config I have my packs sealed in is 14s14p per box. I can see some good points in support of your 15s idea and I believe there will be space for an extra 1s in mine but then that will compromise spaces for other add ons - voltmeter, DCB, Battery terminals and fan. So maybe I will try things with 14s for now, then upgrade to 15s later.

Am using MPP 5048MK, it can do 64v max, hence no issues.

Not really. Since the freezer, fridge and 1HP Inverter AC are 24/7 load, they were already on before others.

I then added the two regular 1HP A/Cs successively before adding the water heaters.

There was no audio alarm to indicate an overload. The inverter is capable of 11,000w surge for 10seconds

This morning, I decided to push my battery beyond my usual 70/80% DOD, this beast was doing 50A @less than 15% SOC and all cells were above 3v with that load. With 500AH pulled out of it and cell voltage were still at 25.4v (above 3.1v per cell) under load (6A) these cells have exceeded my expectations

With lack of utility in the last 1 week here is to hope for a sunny day today to replenish my 13kwh drain grin

The beast known as Must handles overloading quite well on 48V models. 24V do it less elegantly. Ran 6kw in frequent spurts for about 20 minutes on a 3kW inverter. My previous Victron did even better. But this is not a competition. I think you really shouldn't be doing that unless absolutely necessary (mine was for emergency arc welding). The surges nearly shook the inverter off the wall.

However, such electrical equipment shouldn't be consistently run above 80% power to forestall easily avoidable premature failure.
