What do you think is CBN's endgame in all of this? It is now clear to even the blind that a lot of Nigerians with free income will rather now still put it in the real sector of the economy.

I was having a chat with a friend of mine the other day and he was asking why the very rich Nigerians do not invest in startups, most start up grants in Nigeria come from angel investors abroad, why?
Well for one, if it's being hard to increase dollar reserves, then choose the other option of reducing new naira created-especially those from risk-free instruments.

it has its risks though-that people would abandon t-bills and probably chase FX with their free naira.

So far that risk isn't playing out.

So, How low can they go?

US 91-day bills is currently at 0.09%, so maybe that low, maybe even lower.

This just sent shivers down my spine.i never knew someone can have issues with any bank transaction done within the banking premises.
I have to be extremely careful after this

Just speculating, there is no way you will.get a loan from a bank without having a copy of offer letter.

You need a loan for 6 months, the guy offered to give a 36 months loan. Probably he will be in a position to return your money in 3 years time

I hope this will not cause dead stocks and stocks without fundamentals to start rising and then create another market bubble like what happened in 2008?.

As long as CBN keeps one year treasury yields below 3%, the market should be able to sustain a 20x PE valuation. That would probably push NSE Index to about 50,000 pts and market cap to around N30trn.

N13trn was just a couple of days back, today we're at N18trn

Then again, like I once read on the stock market thread, as long as your barber and cab driver haven't started talking about buying stocks, we should be safe from a bubble.

My brothers and sisters, this guy keeps giving me different excuses till now. Should I go strait to his manager or still wait?.
He was even begging me to continue using the loan even if my money appears since the interest is low but I told him I needed my money to reflect first.
Sorry Madam, permit me to say you are foolish .May be this will help

You don't need the permission, she doesn't need the insult.

Of all the people that have made fore comments, you think it's you who should now push insults?

@Tracyorez, there are things you are still not telling us. You might have had some flirtation with your banking officer, and you became so emotional and trusted him enough to control your account. And this guy must really be a tall and handsome guy with good English, correct me if I am right.

Have you ever wondered why most female bank customers are given males as their banking officers, while male customers always have beautiful damsels as their banking officers?

Banking is a very big business, and in Nigeria, it is a bit more than just a business. If you know you know.

You wouldn't have been in this mess if you had had a female banking officer.

I once had a pretty damsel as a banking officer, her voice and smile could even make Romeo to cheat on Juliet. Unknowingly, I started falling in love helplessly, if not for God and a friend who also had some experience in the past, I would have just been a victim.

To all the wealthy guys in the house, if you can, just try to avoid your wife having a male banking officer or gynaecologist or fitness trainer.

I have a small company that gives loan. If you know the trouble my marketers go through to get the loans back!!
We even gave our debtors 3 months of grace because of the lockdown, but it is still one story or another. We had to seal up some shops with the aid of police men.
Some are even prepared to go borrow elsewhere to clear their loans so that they can apply for a bigger loan. Can you imagine, taking me for a fool.
So my dear, it's not all about money. It's about trust and conviction. And in Nigeria trust is a rare breed.

I gather the new Police Act prohibits this now.

What do you have in your investment portfolio eg bonds, money market, Eurobonds, real estate, equity, small business etc.

For now I am very bullish about the stock market.

So I will advise selling half at N10 million. The remaining bond will generate an annual coupon of N1 million for the next 16 years

Zenith bank, UBA, APR, United Capital will give you a dividend yield of 15% and above.

Dangote cement, Lafarge, Dangote sugar, Julius Berger will give you a dividend yield of about 12%.

If you are considering investments that are linked to forex, you can consider Seplat and Airtel.

Seplat paid dividend 2 months ago at $1 to N350.

Airtel paid yesterday at $1 to N430

I want to specially thank you for making this post on the 25th July 2020. I followed this advice and I added APR, United Capital, lafarge and dangsugar to my existing portfolio. Thank you once again.

Madam, ask him to send you the loan documents for your records. This is very important. I’m sorry to say but you sound very naive if this story is true. So even your husband couldn’t help you deal with this issue? Very strange.
