You can't actually confirm that it's your catalyst that's culprit. But try scan your can first for engine codes.

catalyst got nothing to do with high fuel consumption....check if ur using d right oil weight for ur car...

Please what are the things one need to check in your car when you observe your car is consuming fuel.

Which one is emadeb again....naso I saw one duxxxx something 0w 20 5l at the junction of my house. The packaging was neat like with foreign logo on it. The man called the price 8k, I was confused. I said u mean the whole 5l or just the 1l bottle, the man insisted that the 5l goes for 8k last. Naso I flee for my life. I stick to Total 5w 30. Anything that is too cheap is a red flag. Secondly always go for trusted brands. My car smoked for sometime and it was ringed, now it's doing well. You might need to take that route eventually

it's not an opinion. Catalytic converters DO affect gas consumption. I really don't want to debate this. If you disagree, whatever you say you are right.

Whats ur advise on Mobil Super 5W-30. Its about 6K for 5litre keg. Do u consider it a good alternative especially since Mobil is a known brand? I am considering the price
N.B. its a synthetic blend and not full synthetic

Catalyst has nothing to do with your fuel consumption! The brain box controls the Air/Fuel mixture of your car through the signals received by the sensors.
Most often your sensors could be the culprit of high consumption, reason I asked you to scan your engine first. Check for any of Your sensors not working optimally.
Catalyst controls your emissions and your oil lubricant the parts.

I will go and scan my car, but I observe my engine light is not coming up on my dashboard, doesn't it mean that my engine is fine and my car is still consuming fuel.

Secondly which of the sensor should I change, is it the

4. Crankshaft position sensor
5. Throttle position sensors (Tps)
6. Vehicles/transmission speed sensor
7. MAP sensor
