Milkshakes01:I remember your transcript vividly. Seems you were on suit. The guy in window 11 turned on the volume of his mic (more like putting it on loudspeaker) and said anyone getting close to any other person should have their mask on to avoid infecting others. I wish you all the best, man. |

Tomison:Tell the VO that the school does not require you to take the English proficiency exam. Because English language is the medium of instruction in your home country(Nigeria) That’s if nigeria is listed on the English proficiency exemption list on the school website o. |

Greenman2020:Apart from the fact that you've been denied before, You did not show a very strong home tie. You could have done that through your current work, if it was better than an NGO. Being with an NGO doesn't really hold water even though you might have been gaining practical experience. You should have tailored your response on how you'd come back to assist the NGO or create a similar Institute upon completion of your program. Secondly, students that goes for Cyber Security and Criminology have to possess a little bit of luck in order to get visa approvals. These courses are Intelligence related and revered for special duty. That's why you'd always be asked if you wrote the GRE and whether you deserved the funding and TA. Again, The VOs, FBI, CIA and SSS of the USA somewhat feels like you'd be knowing their secrets once you study an Intelligence related course like yours. You should have used Abuja since you've been refused at Lagos in the past. Generally, it was a very good transcript, you did well and I'm not uncertain you'd have gotten Approval if it were an Engineering Program. Just an opinion and observation. The presence of the former VO could have subtly influenced it too. Only God knows. |

| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Ftos: 11:07am On Nov 20, 2020 |
Greenman2020:Why the school? Try and relate it to a particular career vision of yours. That should be the reason why you are interested in the professor's research! |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Nobody: 11:12am On Nov 20, 2020 |
NoTimeZone:For what program? Of course, e dey happen. But that doesn't mean we should not prepare well and plan to fumble. |

Friedpotato:Sorry about this. Better luck next time. Try and reapply and take corrections. What looks like 'mistake' made by you has been pointed out by many here and i encourage you to work work towards taking the necessary corrections. At the bolded: You didn't even smile but laughed. Some VOs can get provoked. It's just a very simple question and you made it look funny. The VO may think you're trying to play smart and being fake with that laughter. This is almost a general question and it shouldn't be funny. Probably, you may think you're too young to have a child and that's why you had to laugh - it seemed funny to you but it's not. Hollyholy:Take this advice and work on yourself for your next appointment. |

| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Stevenssen(m): 11:39am On Nov 20, 2020 |
Chonco:Come on, 'laughing a bit' isn't enough to deny a fully funded student a visa. Many people have laughed their ways to visa approvals before, especially on this particular question. If he made any mistake, it isn't 'laughing a bit' Or maybe the VO just didn't want to issue the visa |

Hello, I want to go to the German embassy in Lagos next week to authenticate my documents for uniassist application. Do I need to book an appointment before going to the embassy? or i can't just walk in there anytime next week to do the authentication. What's the process like. |

Greenman2020:Sorry Man. Next time will be better. At the bolded: Since the VO was able to recognize you, how was your encounter with him the last time? Why do you think he recognized you immediately? Though it happens but rare. Did you chose the school because the Prof. believes in your ability to excel? This part is a very sensitive part. You actually didn't convince the VO more on why you chose the school. The explanation was not enough. You needed to do more as stated by some persons here. What other schools did you apply: Though it may count or may not(talking about the admission status), but i feel you should have just mentioned the name of the school only. You can proceed with more info if the VO demands to know if you were admitted or not. And lastly, about your work: It's been explained already. For me, going by your transcript, i feel the major thing to take note here is "why the school" - this is the selling point. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Chonco: 11:51am On Nov 20, 2020 |
Stevenssen: It may actually not be an issue but some VOs have anger issues, that's my point. I just pointed something. Sometimes, what we feel is nothing may actually be something despite the fact that the laughing part doesn't hold water. Maybe, but we've got to be observant to know if the VO is in the mood to accept laughter at any moment. |

All praises and adoration to the almighty for making this a success. many thanks to those whose transcripts were of great help to me and those who stood by me all through this from application to visa prep and all. Lolade, taheerah, abdulkareem, Alex only to mention few. May God bless you all. Embassy : WC Lagos School name: UNT Funding : 32,718 Program admitted for: PhD chemistry Visa status: approved This man in window 11 was just denying people. He has denied about 4 people since I entered the hall. I was just quietly praying that the lady in front of me should go to him and I go to another window. But the lady went to another VO and I was asked to go to him after denying another person again. VO: Where are you going to? Me: I'm going to university of north Texas in Denton for my PhD in chemistry with concentration in organic chemistry. VO:PhD? Me:Yes VO: What's by he difference between organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry Me: Organic chemistry is the study of organic compound while inorganic chemistry is the study of other compd like metals and others( since I can't really remember the definition of inorganic chemistry due to tension) Then the silence began VO: Typing Me: I was quietly saying won't this man ask my another question. Muteness lasted for about 30-40sec. VO: Are you married Me: No VO: Do you have kids Me: No.. but ( I wanted to tell him why I choose UNT cos I felt he hasn't asked me enough question but sth just tell me to keep quiet. VO: I want to approve your visa, take this yellow paper to window 22 to pay your reciprocity fee. Thanks. Na just God grace oo. Prepare well and pray well too. |
