That's why uk cities have great streets.

If we charged that kind of tax in Nigeria, Nigerians would scream.

So we pay scanty taxes and get scanty and bad roads

Our budget for thos year is 26 billion dollars. South africa spent 23 billion dollars on education alone last year.

London's budget is 2 billion dollars this year.Lagos budget is 3 milllion dollars. ( for the state not the town) ( figures not correct. Error regretted )

Our oil revenue is not enough to feed everyone for a month self.

If Government upgrade people's lives and reduce poverty, people will definitely be able to pay that Taxes,

But with high unemployment rate, Increase in Poverty, Tell me how will people be able to afford that?


In less than 20years, The Government of china moved 830million people from extreme poverty to middle-class, 830million people that's 5 times the population of Nigeria!!

If Government can do that in Nigeria too, why won't people pay those taxes you mentioned??

Upgrade people's lives?
With a budget that if divided among Nigerians gives us each 45000 naira?

I have a few ideas as to how government can do that. Deregulate the downstream petroleum sector. Deregulate power. Every nigerian pays their power bills

These three measures will provide us with 50000mw of power to power our economy in the next ten years
