Thrash and absolute bunkum. Nigerians leaders looted $600 billions dollars since 1960, imagine if they used just 50% they develop most cities they lived in.

Do you know if Dino Melaye sells all his cars he can replicate one of these streets in his community.

So what.do you do when the loot is finished and you have to raise money for things like ongoing maintenance of the roads? Or upgrading the road? Or expanding the road.?

Note that i fully agree that billions have been looted and they need recovering. So we agree on that point

But when we have finished using the looted money to build infrastructure, how do we pay for its maintenance, future upgrading, and so on?

That's where taxes and taxes come in as well as polices like deregulation which could attract jobs.

The Soviet union worked till they finished using the siezed loot of the bourgeoisie. Then thats where issues started.

Just take a look at this!!

Nigeria leaders both past and present should be killed by hanging, Those that are dead should be brought out and re-kill properly

An average Nigerian is ready to pay as long as you are going to give him enough assurance that his money won't be re-looted
Look at Alpha Beta owned by Tinubu that collect taxes in Lagos involved in N100 billion fraud . Nigerians don't pay taxes because they know it will end up in bullion vans.

Which is why your idea of going into politics is a good one.

You can be an example of a non corrupt leader.

But you cannot build a successful country on just oil.

Plus recovering loot will soon finish.then what?

Good evening. Got to leave this thread now. Nice talking

The problems with most leaders in Nigeria and Africa at large is that most of them are not visionary And creative, 99% of them are only going into politics because of their pockets, They aren't really passionate about developing the nation!

Nigeria streets can be great again the issue is just bad leadership, and the citizenry on their own do not listening to instructions placed by the local authorities.

What breaks my heart the most is the masses praising them, It sucks to be black walahi

If United States, Great Britain, etc can do it, yes Nigeria can, if the right set of leaders are in position of authority.

The northern pests like you put it, are not really the issue per say, it's a collective decision and agreement by both the leaders and followers to abide on.

Its all about physical and town planning. But today, Nigerians build shops and do street trading anywhere. When government officials arrest them, we come to Nairaland to abuse government asking what do they want Nigerians to do.
You get what you ask for simple

The country is too poor to have such .Even if all the fantastic structures are put in place ,it will not stop the hawkers, and street urchin ( supported by politicians ) from defacing the place with thier dirty and rickety buses, dirt and human waste. We need to attend to our citizens first before any meaningful development can happen in this country.
At present Nigeria look like a caused land that nothing seem to work .
