You're right.People tend to regard indigenous products as inferior and when they level up, they go for foreign stuff.Which is why someone would see eating pizza, shawarma and the likes as being 'posh' and a sign of good living while they deride people that eat our locally produced food items (garri, pap, etc).It is really a sign of low self-esteem, self-hate and mental enslavement.

the pizza and sharwama they always making noise about in naija i have tasted it here.the thing no let me chop .i had to thow it in the bin .Pizza is quite cheap here..but what i like is this stuff they call bakes..it taste almost like our bean cakes or akara but its not akara.They have the italian pizza and if u know how to make pizza or sharwama u can buy the ingredients in the grocery shops.If u the type that loves junk food so much if u come here and start eating their junk food anyhow withing a month u might turn to yokozuna that even ur family back in naija will start raising alarms when they start seeing ur pictures cos their junk food is very very fattening here .If u see their doughnuts its very large and looks like bread and they spray one brownish stuff around it .A lot of the ppl here are quite obese and they have child obesity problems here.in nigeria we regard pizza and sharwama as food for the rich cos its expensive in naija but once u step out of naija that mentality will cease cos its mostly even poor ppl who eat here cos junk food tend to be much more cheaper than the normal food.

i no sabi eat all those pizza and oyibo food cos u know i be original village guy nau .na still my normal naija food i dey chop over here plus i engage in physical activity as well.make i even share one story with u .one of my uncle back them on my mom"s side then when he was in UNIBEN was a very poor feeder.After his degree he happened to travel abroad and withing some few months omo my uncle suddenly increased in size.He didnt just add a few pounds but added excessive pounds..everywhere just increase..stomach,head,legs everything.Even my dad sef started telling him to watch his weight oo and my uncle said no be im fault that oyibo food no be here oo .especially americans i dont know what they add in their doughnuts and pizza.Even if u be poor feeder for naija as soon as u travel out and start visiting KFC u will start eating like lion .Thats why most times here when i see some guys complaining that their girlfriend cant cook i tell them to learn how to cook.learning how to cook is very important cos u never know..if baba God answer ur call and u happen to travel to a foreign land and u no sabi cook u will be forced to be eating KFC food and eating that type of food too much is not good for ur health especially if u are a student.and u cant say u will be patronizing the local resturants cos in most cases u might not be able to eat their food..so KFC comes to the rescue .but when u can cook u can easily go to their grocery buy what u want to buy then prepare it at home and store in the fridge.Sometimes the food your school or company i work offers u might not be the way u like it.So learning how to cook is very essential.

yea i used that same method too..i will use groundnut oil to fry my soup then add liquid tomato to it..thats the same way i used to prepare my beans here until someone showed me the guy .His palm oil is a little expensive but i dont mind since i cant live without palm wine .They have palm trees here too but it only produces coconut but no palm wine.Recently i heard onions is now very expensive in nigeria and i would say its so embarrasing hearing such.Nigeria has very good weather and nice soil for farming so food in nigeria ought to be cheap.imagine things like rice,beans and now onions becoming expensive in naija..na waoh.

at least the pallatives that some ppl collected back from warehouses it was hidden would help them this xmas .My aunty in benin said crime has increased over three times as b4.That before 7 pm everybody locks up.Car snatching at gun point here and there,POS robbery etc.Some weeks back i heard one medical doctor who is a staff in central hospital benin was shot where he was fueling his car and the car was snatched from him.If crime has increased across the country in benin it has increased three times more.
