Hello, has your brother's wife applied for the uk visa? Please what category did she apply for? Hello Gurus in the house, So my brother has leave to remain in the UK when he had a child with a girl in the UK. He’s not in a relationship with the girl but he’s playing his father role for his son. Now he visited Nigeria and married another lady. The question is, can the lady apply as a dependent on him to go to UK. She was going to apply as a visitor and declare to be married but I told them if they find out she’s married to my brother who’s in the UK they might think she’s going to reunite with him and not come back, hence affect the decision. Is it better to apply as a visitor or apply as a dependent on him My brother works with the NHS and earns about £21k annually [/quote] |

Hello house, Kindly advice on how best to go about correcting this case of refusal. Submitted 2 bank statements. 1 salary the other savings. Salary is 150k. Monthly expense is 50k. Indicated esusu savings of 100k per month x 15 months is the reason for lumpsum 1.5m in savings account(receipt attached) which i intend to spend from on the trip. All the sources of large amounts were clearly explained in the cover letter as they were all not mine and were debited immediately. 1 Share

Are you saying that there's a human rights law that will prevent him from having a private life in the uk till he obtains ILR? Broadenyourhori: |

Fali85: Sorry for the refusal, when did you apply, according to the Eco, ₦1m entered your account on the 22nd of October before applying so I'm thinking you deliberately paid that money just to facilitate the visa process, mehn this a red flag on its own and Eco also complained that your salary is not reflecting on both statement, Well there are too many flaws with your application I'm sorry but that's the pure truth, eco thinks you are trying to fool them and if given the visa, you will violate it.... Anyway work on the reason's the eco complain and pls try and apply when your salary improve a lil bit ✌️ |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by alert20: 9:47pm On Nov 21, 2020 |
giselle237: Off course the Eco will never ask him about feeding but its not bad to explain how you plan to spend your daily activities and the plans you have detailed on your cover letter, he's already spending close to ₦500k without feeding I'm guessing no be water him go day drink for the 8days sha?? Instead why u no tell am make him reduce the flight and hostel cost, he will still see cheap flight with Turkish Airlines around ₦317k and hostel around ₦30k.... For the hostel search for KENSAL GREEN BACKPACKERS HOSTEL it should be £76 highest ✌️ |

alert20: I applied on the 2nd of November. The money the ECO mentioned is the ajo/ esusu money of 1.5m. I explained this in my cover letter. The salary comes in twos. I equally explained this and stated the 2 amounts clearly in my cover letter. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by alert20: 1:37am On Nov 22, 2020 |
Fali85: So sorry again, you deposited the Ajo money barely 10days before applying?? This is a red flag on its own, the Eco believes you lodge the money simply because you want to apply for the visa, you should have allowed the money stay and reflect at least a month before printing..... Better luck on your next application. ✌️ |

Fali85:Ur finances not strong enough. The disposable income of 100k monthly is little... not possible to be granted visa with this profile right now Then u also want to spend a whole 2000 pounds on holiday with the above salary. E no go work sir. Dnt reapply pls until significant change in ur life starting from ur salary 1 Like |

Oh my, its been ages!! I remember when I use to traffic this page daily, when hustling my UK visa as a med student. I later got the visa and since visited several countries. I learnt all my travel visa applications from this Nairaland (God bless Seun) I am now a personal guru My advise to those applying, always go back to read through the thread. Your circumstance has likely been discussed in detailed before or use the search button. The likes of @Justwise were so helpful. God bless you and wondering if you are still active here. Shallom. |

alert20: I honestly do not understand why people do a cover letter especially in cases where it's not pertinent to do one. All the information an ECO needs to make a decision is already asked (the form). Keep your application simple and budget, believable in line with disposable income and account balance |

Nchabuomo: Cover letters are undoubtedly helpful. They [should] briefly summarise the important details of your application in one page so that its easy for an overworked government employee to quickly grasp before reviewing your form and supporting documents. That's why a lot of people recommend them. I do too, and I always write one, even when applying for long-term visas. As long as it's kept short and succinctly paragraphed and bulleted. 3 Likes |

Good afternoon house , I won't get tired or ashamed of asking questions here , getting ready to apply for 2years uk visa early next year , grooming my account 4months now , I saw on earlier page someone said he was denied visa cos on his first application , he stayed more than the number of days he said to stay (but not up to 1month ). In my own case , my work leave has expired bfr my visa came , so I traveled In December by getting a cheaper return flight which amount to staying 3weeks as against 10days I said when I was applying , .hope this won't affect my next application , and also , what's the minimum account balance i should have ? |

Nielbaba:U see that additional information section on the application form, yes the place before u submit the form.. kindly write this explanation and more in that section. As for minimum acct balance, dnt think cus it’s a 2 year visa u need to load the account. Forget about the 2 year duration and convince the ECO as to why at this instance u should be given a visa. U have gotten 6 months visa before, so pls also prove beyond reasonable doubts why this one also should be granted. |

Thank you ,I appreciate , can I add my personal business details as a supporting document ? , I'm. Not adding the statement of account for the business tho , cos the inflow and outflow is not explainable, like I may have 2m in the morning and by evening I would have used it for procurement and the money comes back gradually as I sell, do I add it atall , just to show more tie to the home country giselle237: |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by giselle237: 1:26pm On Nov 22, 2020 |
Nielbaba:U have gottn a visa before from them. I believe u were able to convince them by ur documents and circumstances then tht u are not a ‘run away’. Circumstances are unpredictable these days but like I said if u know how u convinced them last time, do same, keep everything real, concise, water tight and evidence based. Goodluck |

Pls for those that have sent me private email msgs do not be offended if I dont reply in private. You did nothing wrong and I am not a snob please. I however prefer to be questioned on here, it makes everything simpler and u get to preserve your privacy as well as I get to mine But if u have 1k pounds and above for me, I will gladly relinquish my private life... lol 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Cyberknight: And you think if they wanted you to briefly summarise the "important details" of your application they wouldn't ask you to do so? Besides the whole application is a summary and if you indeed believe ECOs are overworked why then give them additional paperwork? Each to their own at the end of the day sha. |

Nchabuomo: Cover letter is very important and can make a difference between successful application and refusal. That is exactly why a blank space is provided for additional information and they also encourage applicants to use extra paper if the space provided is not enough 1 Like |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Cyberknight: 5:19pm On Nov 22, 2020 |
Nchabuomo: Even specialist immigration lawyers and caseworkers draft cover letters when they are dealing with the Home Office, and advise applicants to do so, obviously, from your standpoint, because they have nothing better to do with their time and think that all applications are meticulously examined line by line. If cover letters were pointless, then by now they would have gone out of use, as visa officers would certainly have made known their dislike of them, if that were the case. As you said, each to their own. 1 Like |
