The flesh and the spirit are constantly at war. You flesh wants to sin while the spirit doesn't want you to.

Galatians 5:17 KJV
For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Mathew 26:41 KJV
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Both verses you quoted simply show that the spirit is superior to the flesh,so it should follow that is either body accepts the spirit control or the spirit departs from the body, therefore your Initial teaching should logically be that, when a born again sins it means such born again has backslided causing the spirit to depart n therefore need to quickly repent n seek the return of the holy spirit, but that would still be confusing because the holy Spirit is supposed to fortify the flesh against sin,so my simple deduction is that a true born again should not sin.

The first birth which we have all experienced is the "born of water" spoken of by Jesus. We humans were all born of water. Ever heard the phrase "a woman's water is broken"? That happens when she gives birth.
I thank God for ur zeal in spreading the Gospel. BUT UR STATEMENT ABOVE IS NOT CORRECT. ROM 6: 4- By Baptism then we were buried with him and share his death in order that
Just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of to father, so we might live a new life. First birth is Baptism.

Begin born again is when we surrender to Jesus Christ has your lord and saviour through grace by the cleaning blood of Jesus, it is when we believe that is when the process of salvation take place.
if we don't believe them the process of been born again as not taken place.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

there on we live by him and obey is word, commandments and instructions because we are no more of the world and we don't practice sins. therefore we don't live of the flesh but of the
spirit of God (1 John 4 :4; 1 John 3:6 -10)

1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Baptism plays no role in salvation. It's just a picture of the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It's also a way of showing believers that we identify with them. It doesn't save.

When the Bible told us how we got saved, did it mention below that water baptism is part of the equation? Did it mention that works and efforts are part of the equation. No.

It simply said it is Grace through faith, nothing else. See below.

Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.

How do you reconcile your assertions with the following passages:

When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:37‭-‬38 NIV

Can't you see that the verses you quote and the one I quoted below are talking about two different things?

Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves : it is the gift of God:
Not of works , lest any man should boast.

The one I quoted says salvation is by grace through faith, not through baptism or repentance. But you are quoting your own to say something contrary to what the verse above says. The Bible doesn't contradict itself.

Your verse shows Peter telling those who killed Jesus to repent i.e the. from the idea that killing hi. was a good thing. Of course, it is a good thing he told them to be baptized as well. But baptism is not compulsory for salvation, otherwise that thief on the cross won't have made it to paradise because he didn't get the chance to be baptized.

That's why those who insist that BORN OF WATER is the same as water baptism are wrong. They are wrong because Jesus said except a man be born of water and of spirit, he won't see the kingdom of God. If born of water means water baptism, then Jesus lied when he promised the thief on the cross who didn't get the chance to be baptized that he will be with him in paradise.

I'm glad that Jesus is not a liar. That is why it is clear that born of water is not water baptism. The thief had been born of water already which is the flesh birth i.e the birth by his parents. He got the Spiritual birth on the cross when he believed Jesus while his colleagues rejected Jesus. That way, the equation by Jesus which says "except a man be born of water and of the spirit" was completed in the life of the thief on the cross.

I'm sorry, but you are wrong.

If to be born of water means water baptism, then how did the thief on the cross make it to God's kingdom without baptism? Have you forgotten that Jesus said "Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God"?

Remember that the thief on the cross was promised by the same Jesus that they will be together in paradise. Why would Jesus make such a promise to him when he knew the thief won't get the chance to be baptized which, according to you, is one of the requirements alongside spiritual birth to see the kingdom?

Can you now see how wrong you are to say water baptism is the same as born of water?

Look, water baptism is not born of water. To be born of water is to be born by your parents. That's why Jesus further explained to Nicodemus that it is the birth of the flesh.

Same Jesus who spoke of born of water and born of the spirit further explained that one is flesh birth by humans while the other is spiritual birth by God.

John 3:6 KJV
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

But because people see water, they automatically think it is water baptism. Does water give birth?

Some Corrections please.

Romans 3:23

Says all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and it continued in Romans 5:12 saying

12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.
Then in verse 19

For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.

This is the need why all men needs to be saved, because sin and death was passed on to us from Adam.

THE BIG QUESTION IS SHALL WE CONTINUE IN SIN.

I will answer this just as Apostle Paul in Romans 6:15-16

15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!

16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness.

Paul said no to this question and he started putting light to the question in verse 3 and 4.

3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?

4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should WALK IN NEWNESS OF LIFE.

I emphasized the last word , that we should walk in newness of life.

To clarify what he meant he said in verse 7 that he who is dead is free from sin, meaning that a dead man doesn't sin.

So he gave us a mind therapy in the following verses.

11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.

13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

This is a duty which is also called renewing of the mind.

You may ask, but is it possible not to sin..

I found that answer in Galatians 5:16-17

16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.

It is not possible, I say not possible for anyone to walk in the Spirit and still fulfill the lust of the flesh. He must either be walking in the Spirit or in the Flesh at any seconds of time.

So this gives an answer to what Paul meant by saying we should walk in newness of life.(the mind therapy and the walk in the Spirit).

For understanding on walking in the Spirit read Romans 8:5.

Before I conclude, these are some key points to know....

Hebrew 4:15

15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

It says Jesus Christ was tempted like us and was without sin.

1 Peter 2:21-22

21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:

22 “Who committed no sin,
Nor was deceit found in His mouth.

It also says that Christ left an example for us to follow and that he committed no sin.

1 Corinthians 9:26-27

26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.

27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

Apostle Paul also spoke about his efforts towards subjecting his body.

Key points to know that God is not a joker.

Revelation 21: 7-8

7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

2 Peter 2:4-10

4 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;

5 and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly;

6 and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly;

7 and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked

8 (for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds)—

9 then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,

10 and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority.

This is my humble correction to the subject.. I will not fail to say that should incase you sin ...

1 John 2:1-2

My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

Chapter 1:9 says if we sin we should confess our sin and He is faithful and just to forgive us...

This is the truth we should walk with and to guide us. there is a sin also that will not be forgiven..

Hebrew 10:26-31

26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,

27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.

28 Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

30 For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.”

31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

This is after you have obtained the knowledge of the truth and you kept it aside and continue to galavant in your sin or continue enjoying your old sinful life before you accepted the free gift of righteousness by believing in Jesus Christ, then wahala dey wait for you for judgement day...

God bless you all and I urge you to run this race with certainty like Apostle Paul , also take the mind therapy seriously...

Bless

Here comes a Jehovah's False Witness to pluck away what God has sowed.

Being born of water is not water baptism. Stop being a blind bat. Jesus clearly explained that Born of Water is flesh birth.

John 3:6
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Also, it cannot be water baptism because the Bible says we get saved not by any effort of ourselves but by God's grace through faith.

Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.

But a lying false witness like you is saying we have to get baptized and do other things, which are basically works based salvation. Jesus did it all, we do t add anything to the salvation work. That's exactly what Ephesians 2:8-9 is saying.

You also said that we have to do the will of God to be born again. How foolish you are. Look, the will of God is to believe or have faith in Jesus. Simple.

John 6:40 KJV
And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

See? You could have sounded better without cursing. See the difference between us? Even if you have the knowledge, is this how Christ or his Apostles talked with people of different views?

Like I said, what you know is more accurate than what these pastors teach. But stop cursing. What has anyone to gain by deceiving others and cost them salvation? If our understanding is different, then let's continue to rob minds and see where we can agree.

I come in peace.

My personal take on this is that, let's learn not to judge and if you have a basic training on christianity then I believe you know the things christ forbids us from doing, weda born again or not we still commits sins unknowingly, the bible also said judgments is of the lord, help if you are at an advantage, live a peaceful life while you still draw air, and always pray for forgiveness, may God help us.
alBHAGDADI:

This is an interesting read.

Today, many people take being born again to mean different things other than what the Bible says it means.

The Bible says "...except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

But when some people talk about being born again, they mean someone who has repented from his sins and doesn't sin again. This is quite wrong because so many verses tell us that we are all sinners and that anyone who says he's without sin is a liar.

1 John 1:8 KJV
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Ecclesiastes 7:20 KJV
For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

As seen above, we are all sinners even when we are righteous. So, how come some people think a born again person is someone who has repented from his sins or doesn't sin? It's because they have believed the wrong gospel.

So, who is a born again person and how did he attain it? Do you remember that conversation Nicodemus had with Jesus?

John 3:3-6 KJV
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

At this point, Nicodemus was wondering if Jesus meant that one has to enter into his mother's womb a second time to be born again.

4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

As seen above, Jesus clearly explained the kind of birth he was talking about. He spoke of two births. One has already happened to us all, but the second needs to happen for us to have eternal life and see the Kingdom of God.

The first birth which we have all experienced is the "born of water" spoken of by Jesus. We humans were all born of water. Ever heard the phrase "a woman's water is broken"? That happens when she gives birth.

Jesus spoke of a second birth which the "born of the spirit." It is that one that needs to now happen to us for us to see the kingdom of God.

Explaining both births again, Jesus made it clear that born of water is the flesh birth which our parents had of us, while born of spirit is spirit birth.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Now that we know how we can be born of the flesh or of water, which we have already experienced, how do we become born of the spirit?

We become born of the spirit by simply believing in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour according to John 3:16.

John 1:12 KJV
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

As seen above, once we believe and accept Jesus, we become the sons of God who is a Spirit (God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth John 4:24).

God sent Jesus to redeem us so that we can be adopted into his family as sons just as Jesus is a Son of God.

Galatians 4:4-5 KJV
4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

Basically, our parents gave birth to us which is the first birth called born of water or flesh birth. This makes us the children of our parents. When we accept and believe in Jesus Christ, we experience the second birth which is born of spirit. This second birth makes us the children of God. This gives us the right to see the Kingdom of God our Father just as we had the right to enter our earthly father's house.

Just as we carry the DNA of our parents, we also carry something that makes us the children of God. That thing is the Holy Spirit.

What our parents gave birth to sins a lot. We sin today because we inherited a sinful nature from our parents who inherited it from Adam.

The Good News is that what God gives birth to doesn't sin. This explains why Jesus Christ never sinned. This is why we that we are his brothers and also sons of God like him never sin.

You might say, "But I saw brother B sinning the other day." Who you saw sinning is who his parents gave birth to which inherited a sinful nature. But that which God gave birth to inside of him doesn't sin.

1 John 3:9 KJV
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

The reason why Brother B who committed a sin yesterday is not regarded as a sinner before God is because it wasn't his spirit which has been possessed and purchased by the Holy Spirit of God that committed that sin. The sin was committed by the flesh which his parents gave birth to which is prone to sin. That's why the Bible said...

1 John 1:8 KJV
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Ecclesiastes 7:20 KJV
For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

Our parents sin, so what they give birth to will always sin. God doesn't sin, so what he gives birth to can't sin. God sent his son to save us from our sins so we won't be sinners in his eyes anymore regardless of what we do.

The key is to believe Jesus is the one to pay for your sins, which he has done already, only if you believe he has.

Thank you.

Thank you.
that means everyone is going to heaven

Jesus died to save us from sin . Salvation comes by believing in Him and repenting from our sins. Mark 1:15

Believing alone without repentance is not being born again. Afterall satan also believes but trembled.James 2:19

Repenting alone without believing is self effort. It's like new year resolution!

Born again = repent from sin+ believe in Jesus. Act 3:19, Mark 1:15, Luk 13:3,5

Don't deceive yourself that because all have sinned...or born in sin, you cannot be righteous
That was the reason Christ came and died.

Don't deceive your self that when you are born again, you do not need to stop sin...
Did Jesus save you to make you continue in sin? Shd we continue in sin that grace will abide. God forbid! Rom 6:1,2

Being born again is a serious thing b4 God and He gives you the grace...when you believe in Him /repent from your sins... to live righteously. Titus 2:11, 12...

That is the true meaning of Born Again.

Good day.

The Bible is not so literal but full of symbols. We need to understand God's vocabulary and then work therewith.

It's not an academic exercise or a figment of our imaginations.

The spirit of God departed in the garden of Eden and Adam died then although he was still living physically. He was dead spiritually and so are all his descendants.

So all man have sinned and fall short of His Glory ( lost God spirit in them)

Upon this Rock (revelation of the meaning of God's word) shall I build my church and the gates of hell ( false prophets) shall not prevail

Understand these Sir/ma;
Water = word of God by which all things were created
See or hear = understand

Let him that have ear (understanding), let him hear (understand) what the spirit is saying.

John 3:3
Except a man be born again ( be filled with the departed spirit in Eden,) he can't see(understand) the kingdom of God.

John3:5 is a further explanation of verse 3.

Except a man be born( filled) with water(undiluted word of God), and spirit( Holy spirit) he cannot enter the kingdom of God( reign with God or exercise God's power as a prince). We are his temple; He wants to dwell in us. The full Godhead dwelled in a special human flesh (Jesus)

Water baptism is a symbol of the word of God.
It should be a Total immersion; deeply filled or soaked in it and not sprinkling of the word. The word you read and understand or hear and understand makes you clean John 15:3

To be born again means to be filled with God's spirit and his word

Acting on these words following promptings from the Holy spirit gives you the full birth and eternal life. If you don't believe in the word (Jesus) as prompted by the Holy spirit, no eternal life.
John 17;3

The evidence of these continued obedience are the fruits: love joy, patience, endurance etc. Jesus said Bear fruits and let your fruits abide. You may decide to bring in your own will and then you may sin. You are grieving the Holy spirit and he may remain quiet in you if you continue to resist his holy life promptings. He will tell you shall you continue in Sin and let grace abound? For he that is born (filled) of the spirit should not try to commit sin, It grieves Him.

Some 'non-christians' that heared the word from wherever place and believe them could also attract the Holy spirit.

Receiving the Holy spirit; principles
1. Hear the word, repent, water baptism, Holy spirit baptism Act 2: 37, 38

2. Hear the word, repent, receive Holy spirit baptism, water baptism (word) follows. Remember Cornelius and family heard the word, repented and received Holy spirit first. Later they were baptized with water. Act 10:44 ;water symbolizes God's word.

You don't have to believe these. It is the spirit of God that can only convince you. For no man cometh to me except my father draws him. The Holy ghost the comforter shall lead you to all truth.

Do you have a besetting sin? It can be overcome. Just follow Holy spirit promptings.

No matter how good or self righteous you are, if arrogance/pride of life deter you from looking up to God for help, you can't receive the Holy spirit guidance. For all your righteousness is like a filthy rag.

Let us humble ourselves before God and He shall come in and we will reign with him in His kingdom.

Thanks.

To summarise

Romans 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

I pray it makes sense to a lot of you
.
Oh my God! What ERROR are u people promoting. Read bible in CONTEXT! Try different translations to get the correct meaning. This passage is in no way telling u to sin in ur flesh and serve God in ur spirit.
.
2 Peter 3:15-16
15 Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him.

He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.
.
Don't destroy urself with misinterpreting the bible. Christ came in human flesh to get rid of sin in ur human flesh. Nobody that is born of God will continue to sin wilfully in the flesh!
.
Matthew 3:8 ►
Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God.

My personal take on this is that, let's learn not to judge and if you have a basic training on christianity then I believe you know the things christ forbids us from doing, weda born again or not we still commits sins unknowingly, the bible also said judgments is of the lord, help if you are at an advantage, live a peaceful life while you still draw air, and always pray for forgiveness, may God help us.
.
The bible never say we shud not judge rightly. Because once u tell sb to repent from sin, u have judged his action b4 saying that. Rather, the bible condemns harsh judgement that has to do with the eternal state of a person. We shud not tell people that they will go to hell without adding "if u don't repent". We are also not allowed to judge sins we are guilty of.

4 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;

5 and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly;

6 and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly;

Bless
.
God bless u. This op and his misleading message self. No wonder the kind of born agains we see these days.
