God does the selection by means of his holy spirit. It is not a personal decision.. GOD selects those who are born again..

If to be born of water means water baptism, then how did the thief on the cross make it to God's kingdom without baptism? Have you forgotten that Jesus said "Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God"?

Remember that the thief on the cross was promised by the same Jesus that they will be together in paradise. Why would Jesus make such a promise to him when he knew the thief won't get the chance to be baptized which, according to you, is one of the requirements alongside spiritual birth to see the kingdom?

Can you now see how wrong you are to say water baptism is the same as born of water?

Look, water baptism is not born of water. To be born of water is to be born by your parents. That's why Jesus further explained to Nicodemus that it is the birth of the flesh.

Same Jesus who spoke of born of water and born of the spirit further explained that one is flesh birth by humans while the other is spiritual birth by God.

But because people see water, they automatically think it is water baptism. Does water give birth?

The thief on the cross is not in Heaven, but in Paradise. And a close examination of the mentions of the word Paradise in the Bible reveal it is not the Kingdom of Heaven described by Jesus Christ.

The fact that Jesus Christ also told the thief that he, thief, would be in Paradise with Him, Jesus Christ, that very same day, is one pivotal clue to this. Why would Jesus Christ ascend into Heaven on that day, without His body, only to then descend to be resurrected in His body on the third day?

Did Jesus lie when He eventually told His disciples after His ascension that He had yet to ascend?

Another bigger clue is the same Jesus Christ declared to all those who would believe in Him that Heaven and Hell would remain in unpopulated(by His sheep) until after His return.

Here you are saying we need believe and work, even when the Bible says work is not needed but believes/faith alone.

If Jesus Christ did not teach you everything He needed you to know of His New Covenant, then why did He announce that it was FINISHED on the cross?
Why didn't He say something like "To be Continued..." on the cross?
Why bother serving Him if you believe death [powerful enough to have cut His mission short?
Why believe Him when He says that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life, if the same claim as far as Truth is concerned could easily be applied to the words of any man who claims to have the Spirit in Him? What next, are you also going to tell us that because you assume Paul's words to have come from the Spirit, Paul was True i.e. God too? Jesus Christ is the New Covenant between God and man. If your belief is that this New Covenant was unfinished, even after Jesus Christ Himself declared it so on the cross, then what are you pretending to serve Him for?
