The guy is more intelligent than you, isn't it better to import from niger than trucks coming to Lagos all the way from North to carry fuel?
The Fg put us in this condition of rationalizing importing refined crude from Niger. If it has foresight will we be here?

You created the problem, you're now showing us your solution is the valid one

1. Nigeria imports PMS. That is a given fact.
2. What dies it matter where we import from? Why the noise when we are to import from Niger? What is the difference from importing through seaports and importing from Niger?
I need someone to explain this as I don't understand it at all
You're the biggest fool I've ever seen, so it doesn't matter to that NIGERIA is importing fuel from Niger rephuh Definitely you won't be surprise if seun osewa is selling hp for Microsoft.

Where as the privatisation of NITEL and NEPA gotten us?

Those politicians shouting privatise just want to buy it and cheap rate like they bought NEPA. Now, look at NEPA 8 years after it, we are still paying estimated bills.
Dear Minjim, they sold NEPA and NITEL to themselves (politicians).
When I say privatize the refineries, I mean to real people not to one Alhaji in the North.

NIGER DELTA POLITICAL LEADERS SHOULD STOP PREACHING "TRUE FEDERALISM"

You can not achieve true federalism with a Fulani Crack Head ! in a country like Nigeria.

The north is not prepared to allow true federalism.

Fight for your Independence just like the Biafra activist and control your resources.

That refinery in Niger Republic was built right from when PMB assumed office as the president of this God forsaken country by one prominent politician who doesn't want his name in print. The refinery is ready for production of PMS and other by-products of crude oil. Hence,we'll start buying fuel from our politicians as usual...
Useless country....shame on Buhari and his administration

The point is has it gotten so bad that Nigeria now import fuel from Niger? If Niger can make their refinery work, then why can't Nigeria do same with at least one of their four refineries? Should we be importing PMS really?

So you think politicians will sell to Shell or Chevron?
In a developing country, essential commodities such as water, power and fuel shouldn't be left solely in the hands of profiteers.
Algeria and Saudi Arabia manages their refineries effectively- they didn't say private shouldn't own.
What the government should simply tell us is that they are incompetent and lacked foresight.
A private company can be licenced to build refineries but there should be an healthy competition for there to be sanity in the system. Two companies are currently building refineries in Edo and Imo.

So it's normal we that have 4 refineries import fuel from Niger that has 1 refinery. Your line of thought is interesting.
Until they fix those refineries, we have no choice and yes, importing from niger is cheaper, now imagine how many tanker will leave Lagos/ibadan express way..

The news we read and hear in Nigeria are mostly fluffs, duds, worthless and absolutely vacuous. We have too many attention seeking people all over our landscape from pastors leaving their pastoral duties to shout and peddle false prophecies and political rubbish to activist hustlers, jobless opposition and so on, they just open mouth to fill their airspace with needless and pointless rants.

We;ve been importing petrol for decades till the day before the news about importing petrol from Niger broke, these noise makers had no issue with Nigeria importing petrol from abroad, but all of a sudden they have issues with importing from across the border which is actually cheap and a better deal.

What is the difference? Is it because we are importing from a black African country instead from Oyinbo country?

Nigerians are so physically and mentally unruly and I honestly think many Nigerians need psychiatric evaluation.
Na ur zombic family needs mental evaluation. oya go check your WhatsApp for another update. dont worry that 30k you are being paid will fix your generation for life. useless oloshi eniyan

This country is just finished and anyone still hoping for this country to be better is nothing but a sophisticated slowpoke! The country isn't working, the youths took to the street to protest, they tagged them hoodlums and start raining live ammunition on innocent protesters! Then someone want to make me believe that this country will still be good again? Hmmmm I weep for my country!!!

Where I come from, this is what they term "Good morning in the evening". cheesy

See what the man said "First it was a railway construction and now importation of fuels"... Now let's reason guys. This goes to many of you: the purposely blind and the dumb, the Buharideens and the Buharididinrins, and more importantly the 'One-Nigeria' loyalists. Let's argue objectively.

1. First of all, how can you say there should be 'One Nigeria' when there is not effective border-control policy in the North? Are southerners really that foolish? You are aware that the drivers, abokiis you see in the south all come from neighbouring countries, many without a valid means of identification. And you say Nigeria should be one? This was such a grave reason that U.S had to temporarily place a ban on Nigeria because of infiltration of nomads and illegal entrants and lack of proper means of identification. Yet you shout 'One Nigeria'. Can you see that your going to school was a waste and you can't reason?

2. Do you know that the Fulanis were the one of the last set of people to invade this country called Nigeria? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hausa%E2%80%93Fulani

Why is this a point? Simple. Many of them have their ties to remote Sahel countries of origin like Niger and Mali. They know their roots as it's fresh in their memory. Most importantly, the fact that the British drew borders for Nigeria did not render them as foolish as the south. The northern borders are simply an imaginary line to the Northerners (just like the equator); hence they believe they are one with 'Niger' people. That is why they're building rail to Niger and building an oil refinery there. They shout 'One Nigeria' but its a ploy to fool you completely. They are one with 'Niger', not you. Fulanis know their roots; you don't.

Meanwhile, politically correct fools in the South still chanting 'One Nigeria' have their western brothers cut off in Togo and Benin and the southern cut off in Cameroun. And the British will tell me to view a Kanuri man as more of my brother than someone who bears a Yoruba name (e.g. Emmanuel Adebayo) and speaks my language. Please how do you define idiocy? Worse still, which black man can go to England or U.S and divide their lands and join peoples together? If its sure for you today, travel to U.K and tell them you want to join the peoples of Worcestershire or Staffordshire to the people of Ireland and see whether you won't find your ass landed in jail.
May God bless you and your unborn generation. People like you give me hope that this country shall be dissolved one day.

It's actually not new. Nigeria has been importing from Niger before now.
They only need to formalise agreements now due to the border closure. So, it's just like to exemption they gave dangote they've given to Niger now

Whichever way Nigeria has been importing PMS from far foreign countries. What is wrong if the country buys it from a neighbor country which will reduce the landing cost?
I am amazed at how people reasons this issue.
So you are applauding the fact that we are about to be importing petroleum products from Niger which have one refinery while our four refineries continue to be unproductive even though billions are expended on them yearly all in the name of turn around maintenance ?

The refinery was built in 2011 and majorly owned by the Chinese.
Even if Nigerians have stake there which is possible, it's a very small one

If you check Nigeria should be better than Niger republic in things like this because we found, started exporting and started drilling crude oil before Niger republic.
We got the man power, experience before them and we got the experience than them because according to nnpc there will be training on Niger republic on how to manage and execute effectively the functioning of the refinery.

Most of the hue and cry here is political. ( and no, i dont back apc)

It is also a means of avoiding the fact that the only way to make refining profitable in nigeria is to remove subsides on petrol

Niger has a working refinery because they sell fuel at 350 naira a liter

That raises enough profit to keep thw refinery running well

My communist friend, hope you can see that selling petrol at a profit and not at a loss in the name of subsidy means that the Nigeriens have money to run their refinery

Niger sells fuel at 350 naira per liter. Thats why they have the cash to maintain that refinery. And why there is mass incentive to keep the refinery running
