Deceitful Offer From Jumia, Please Help!! by AFONAMARO: 4:20pm On Nov 25, 2020
Hello guys, please i need your input on how to go about my bitter experience with Jumia.

I placed an order for a Samsung galaxy note 8 2 days ago. While trying to complete the order, i was shown that i am entitled to ₦10,000 discount if i use my Mastercard. lmmediately, i proceeded to use my mastercard. But surprisingly, i was debited ₦127,359 as against ₦117,359 that was availed to me prior to placing the order.

I called their customer service yesterday and the agent i spoke with tried deceiving me.

Firstly, she alleged that i needed to register to qualify for the discount.

Secondly, she claimed that the promo is only for first timers.

Thirdly, she also claimed that the promo is for only Stanbic IBTC bank card holders.

Finally, upon realizing that I was concise with my assertion, she transfered me to one Anthony (another agent) who alleged that the promo ended since June, that i am not correct with my claim.
When i insisted and informed him that i have a proof to back up my assertion, he said a mail would be sent to me to provide my proof.

I have gone online to make a report as directed, but nothing has been done. Rather, they've called twice trying to offer apology instead of refunding my money.

Attached is the evidence of my claim showing the discounted amount and my order details.

MODS, please help push it to the right section/front page

If you can part with almost #120,000 for d phone, so how much is #10,000 that you can't wave? Moreover, you still got d phone you ordered for.

You must not comment on every issue.

He has a valid case, do not put the blames on him, you don't know if the 120k is the last pin in his azza, even if it is not, forfeiting money in such manner is plain foolishness

Nobody deceived you, it's clearly stated a "Stanbic IBTC MasterCard". And it's a one time offer, you can't use same card twice.

If you feel cheated cancel your order and collect your full refund

Did you even check the attachment? Nobody received me how?

I selected an item and was informed that if i opt to pay with my mastercard, that I am entitled to a discount. And when i clicked on it, a discount was applied, but immediately i clicked on pay, they removed the discount.

Please show me where they indicated Stanbic in the attachment

In your attachment you didn't select or inputed any card details yet. Select a card and if it's doesn't meet the requirements you'd see the 10k discount will disappear

Here you go, now tell me your case again

Stop arguing unnecessarily without doing proper findings.

I did not only select a card type, but equally inputed my card details.

Can you see my card expiry date and pan showing in the circled attachment?

Please offer assistance if you have any and stop misinforming others who may have help to offer

You selected "choose a new payment method". Select your card and see the 10k disappear because it's not a Stanbic IBTC MasterCard and you are not a first timer, the card has been used on jumia pay before, so no discount for you.

My assistance; cancel your order and get a full refund

Oga, I've never used my card on Jumia, this particular transaction is my ever first with this card or any other card at that.

In fact, i just tried purchasing same device with another card, and same discount showed, but this time, 5k. You'd be surprised how they'd still deduct same full amount from my account if I go ahead and click on pay

Jumia is fraud.

I had several experience with them.
From sending another person's item to me, to marking that I've received an item when I haven't, to sending faulting item and only refunding after the price of the item is more than doubled, to sending what you get vs what u expect - Lolz. Those 5 experiences marred the 2 good experience (the two good experiences where items they sourced from Jumia global).

Right now I'm scared of all Nigerian e-commerce sites.

Money is not the case here but lack of sincerity on the part of JUMIA!!!

This is why people are wary of doing business in Nigeria!!!

It's not by force to give discount!!!
