Are tech jobs (Web Development especially) available in the UK for freelancers? Freelance because I'll be schooling also.

Hello house, am bit confused on what to choose, as a matter of fact i applied for a year and four months course in Bournemouth and i was asked if i would be interested in the two years placement. i do not have an idea of what the 2 years placement is all about and more so, of what advantage is it for my course Msc management with human resources. my question is

1. what advantage is the 2 years placement for my course?
2. whats the calculation for IHS for a year and four months course? and will the same amount be for the two years placement ?

Am being skeptical about the IHS, maybe i should go ahead with the placement if i wont be paying more for the IHS.

Good morning fam, God bless you all for the selfless work. pls @mimilyrics @justwise @ lagosismyhome and other gurus in the house pls help me out

I’m currently filling the online form for my visa and there is a place that says “ will your dependent be traveling with you to the uk” my husband would be applying in January. Pls do I fill yes or no

Since my husband would be applying in Jan do I need to upload my wedding certificate and other proof of marriage

I plan to upload;
Tb test certificate
Bank statement from 17th oct-15th nov printed on the 16th nov
CAS
Bsc cert, transcript and WAEC ( these are the documents listed on my CAS as evidence used to obtain my offer)
Hope I’m in order??

There is an error in the date of birth in my transcript. Will an affidavit be ok to correct this?

Also my course is for 1yr 4months and the ihs calculator is showing £904 as the amount to be paid, I’m confused because I thought it is suppose to be 470+235 =705.

Stick to the uk GOV ihs calculator and not what you think

1. Yes.
2. No. Those should go with his own application.
3. You don't need to upload your CAS, it's a document that is virtually accessible to the ECO using your CAS number.

hello everybody, i really appreciate all the help thus far. Please i need advice on what to do, my spouse has not been able to book a date for his TB test because right now no dates on iom website for both abuja and lagos. I have sent mails upon mails but nothing. Someone advice that he should go to their office and explain the urgency.

Please make una advice, i am just confused and tired of sending mails, even their numbers are not connecting.

Majority of people went through the same trouble to get a booking. You just have to keep calling. Starting at 8am or go yourself or send someone to their office to make a booking......

You shouldn't work as a freelancer as it falls under self-employment which is prohibited for student visa holders.

There is an error in my transcript (date of birth) should I swear an affidavit to correct it or should I leave it since the rest of my documents bear the correct date
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 10:37am On Nov 28, 2020
1. The placement year is especially useful for students without prior experience in the field or the UK because it is just to enable you gain work experience which some jobs might require.
2. It should be £705 for one year courses but if you go on a placement year, you'll have to pay IHS for each year of the placement. IHS is for each year that you spend in the UK and your visa should also reflect the additional time to be spent for the placement year.

Hello everyone,

Please, are there BDCs that exchange naira for pounds at the CBN approved rates? If yes please, are there any at the Lagos International airport.

I already tried getting PTA but I was denied because of my one-way ticket.

Best regards

Thanks mimilyrics, does it mean i will have to pay £940 or £1410 for the two years ? because my calculations for a year and four months is £940.

Yes, there are BDCs at the Intl Airport that sell $$ at near CBN rate.

They only take naira cash, no POS, no transfer.

They rarely have $$ to sell. In other words, you'd be lucky if they had the $$ to sell, they always sell out.

They sell only $$ at near CBN rate. They sell ££ and €€ at black market rate, because according to them, CBN only sells $$ to them. They source their ££ and €€ from the black market.

My advice, you are better off buying your ££ b4 you get to the airport.

If you're on the island, there's a BDC operator at Davida mall, around Tantalizers close to Ebeano supermarket on Admiralty way but can't remember the company name. EDIT: I just checked online, it's called VSO Bureau De Change.

Once you get to the mall, check the sign posts in front of the mall to get the name, it's on the ground floor of the mall, towards the back.

Their rates used to be very good and they exchange cash or transfer into your account depending on your preference.

Or you just collect the $$ at official rate and change when you get to the UK

Thanks alot for ds. I have escalated the issue to Paga, GTb and Flutterwaves Social Media. Now they have addressed it but still awaiting refund. Thanks for taking out time to explain
Go on twitter also.
Send a direct tweet to @oviosu
He is the owner of Paga. Write everything there and call his attention. He would be able to pull strings to reverse this for you.
The same day i did this, same day i received my refund even though i had been sending emails up and down for almost one month and no help

@mimilyrics,please I want to understand you very well.

Are you saying someone can't continue working as a freelancer even if he has a client he's working for around the world (through LinkedIn, slack or other platforms) in Naija before he travels to UK that once he gets there, he needs to terminate those contracts.

Or are you saying someone can't freelance for UK companies only as a student

Please, is it possible to withdraw cash from the atm over there using your Gtbank dollar Master card without any restriction?

PS: I already have the dollar master card and I don't want to collect pounds master card because of the maintenance fee I'll be paying for the two.

Does the UKVI recognize affidavits for name discrepancies.

Say degree certificate carries HILLARY which ua wrong but passport carries HILARY which is right.
Would an affidavit be okay for this?
Help guys.

Legally, yes to both questions.

The only time you can work for an employer outside the UK is if it's a virtual internship and that's limited to 20 hours.

Please how is easy is it getting less physical tasking jobs for someone not too fit to do jobs that require long-standing and carrying loads. Please I need your help. I sent you a mail

reincarnation:
Whoever has the means to come to UK should leave Nigeria, but please have funds that can cater for you for at least 2 months. £1k is fine, but I'd say £1500-£2k if you can, so you don't bleed.
