‘Nigeria Borders Will Remain Closed’ - Mohammed Sabo Nanono, Agric Minister by adenigga(m): 4:53am On Nov 29, 2020
The Minister of Agriculture, Mohammed Sabo Nanono, has said Nigeria borders will remain locked and the key is thrown into the lagoon.

He stated this, yesterday, at the flag-off ceremony of the distribution of agricultural inputs to farmers affected by the recent flood in Kebbi State. He explained that the Federal Government was not ready to reopen the borders, so as to boost the country’s agricultural sector.

He said: “Nigerian farmers have been performing well by producing such food items as rice, millet, guinea corn, and Shea butter, among others. We are not ready to reopen the borders, which is why the Federal Government is ready to support the dry season farming to regain what farmers lost to the flood disaster.”

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Aviation, Senator Adamu Aliero, supported the continued closure of borders, to encourage the growth of local rice farming.

He commended federal and state governments for supporting flood victims in the state.

The Kebbi State Governor, Senator Atiku Bagudu Abubakar, represented by the Deputy Governor, Col Ismail Yombe Dabai (rtd.), thanked the Federal Government for the kind gesture. He assured me of equal distribution of the items.

He appealed to the Federal Government to increase the quantity of the items, to enable them to go round the affected people.

The items shared included rice, millet, guinea corn, and beans, among others.

Nanono is a good example of illiterates in power.

No country has ever survived by practicing autarky.

China practiced it, hunger nearly killed them.

China sacrificed under Chairman Mao (Mao Zedong), now they are reaping the sacrifice, no Nigerian generation wants to sacrifice, they just want to enjoy, you don’t plant anything but you want to eat cheap rice, you didn’t build any power transmission stations & lines, but you want to have electricity? even the price of ordinary garri will triple despite all the cassava we have in Nigeria, they will be quick to blame the president.

Chairman Mao was an absolute failure. He killed nearly 30 million people just to return the Chinese to the farms. China's success began by diverging from Mao's failed policies. His successor was replaced because he is seen as another crazy airbag. The father of the Chinese economic miracle is Deng Xiaoping and not the murderous Mao.

Nigeria needs sacrifice but not to try out failed economic policies. Even today, China cannot feed itself and that is not a bad thing.

Zombie how many Parties have ruled China since they drove the Nationalist Party to Taiwan, the communist party of China base their ideology on long term planning, Chairman Mao was the Agriculture revolution, Chairman said it, a few have to die for the future of the country, & that is why China, is China today, a generation sacrificed when the world was laughing at them, you want to enjoy in Nigeria you don’t want to sacrifice, ordinary 30 kobo increase in pms, it would be like the world has come to an end. China cannot feed itself? Have you lived in China, or you watched it on CGTN?

Yesterday on CNN I believe I saw the Mayor of Houston, complaining that many people in his city had nothing to eat on thanksgiving, I believe also The United States that can go to the moon, cannot feed its people?

-The Chinese Great Leap under Mao resulted in tens of millions of deaths and estimates range between 18 million and 45 million deaths - making the Great Chinese Famine the largest in human history.

-Mr. China Photocopier, how many millions of Nigerians are you happy to sacrifice, hopefully including all members of your family?

Please check what the word sacrifice means, millions of Chinese sacrificed their lives for the future of China, they have real heroes, not hypocrites that benefit themselves.

Buhari is synonymous to hardship!!!

It has NEVER been as bad as this!!!

Closing the border has not improve any agricultural sector infact it's worst!!!

Insecurities is what is killing the Agricultural sector

Of recent 40 farmers were beheaded, not mentioning others

This Government should tackle insecurities and leave the border alone!!!

-Ordinary question you can’t answer instead angling for an e-fight. I won’t indulge you. grin

-So with your half-baked Nigerian education, a simple question means “complaining”??

-When you’re ready, tell us how many of your family members you’re willing to sacrifice for Nigeria to leap forward. Is that a hard question for you?
