A 27-year-old man identified as Prince Mieyebi was stabbed to death by three armed men in Warri, Delta State, after he reportedly won N15 million in a betting game.

It was gathered that the young man was killed while closing a shop belonging to his Aunt at the popular Ogbe-Ijoh market in Warri South Local Government Area of the State on November 27.

According to reports, the assailants fled with the deceased's mobile phone after stabbing him on various parts of his body. He died before he was rushed to a near-by hospital.

An uncle to the deceased, Mr. Thomas Ogisi, who confirmed the murder on Saturday, claimed that the deceased had played the betting game a week before his death with all his predictions going through to the sum of N15 million.

It was not clear if the murder is connected to the reported N15 million win as his account could not be accessed since the assailants made away with his phone.

"The boy stays with my elder sister. On that fateful day, they were in Ogbe-Ijoh market and were preparing to close when suddenly three boys blocked him in the shop and they stabbed him. The incident happened around 6pm on Friday. After stabbing him, they collected only his phone and left. Before he was rushed to the hospital, he was already dead," Mr Ogisi told Daily Independent.

"The information we are hearing from his friends indicate that he was killed because he won N15 million from a betting game. He was expecting the money to be paid to him on Wednesday before he was stabbed to death on Monday. Some of his friends were aware of the money,"

"We are demanding for justice for the gruesome killing of our son. We want thorough investigation by the police. We are not also happy with the level of security at the market." he added.

His friends killed him. They are the only ones who could approach him closely without him raising an alarm to attract people.

I hope the fools realize that they will soon be caught as we are in an era of technology.
They may even be on Nairaland.
Rest in peace

At the end, they may not be able to have access into his phone so probably, the fools just chose to do evil's work for free.

Please if you win bet of 1 million no tell anybody the exact amount. I know there is that great excitement and you want to spread the news but not everybody is happy about goodnews that is not for them. Simply tell them that you won 400k or so or a money that can be overlooked. Because wickedness these days, we never know.

Has gambling of any kind ever been supported by the bible?
We should all know that when the devil gives you something with his left hand, he takes it back from you easily by using his right hand. If he bless u with a bag of salt, he always accompany it with rain fall. The devil gives nothing for free.

What's the point when the money is not going to be paid into the killers's bank account?

When you place a withdrawal online and your bet account name doesn't match with your bank account name, just forget the money.

The only way to get the money is to go to the bet company head office with an affidavit and claim the money. And that will be the moment those killers will meet their doom.

shocked

Well in my own opinion, my candid advice is for anyone intending to win is to win in silence n let success makes the noise. Even after the noise have been made it is important to ensure you stay away from Toxic friends cuz you fit go cash ur money n they'd still kill you for not giving them enough out of it

That being said, I noticed Barbaric act as these are perpetrated by mostly SS/SE guys, that's why ion keep those guys as friends esp SE folks
