With due respect sir, always learn to compare apple with an apple and not with an orange.

We are quick to point hands to other places without considering other factors too numerous to mention.
Standard of living, cost of living, minimum wage, availability of other options, level of poverty etc.

thank you so much for putting your point accross without any insult which have become the norm on this platform. But to the point, do you know this have always been our problem in Nigeria, we always use this excuse as level of poverty, fingers are not equal, cost of living and we remain in the same position. Take the issue of Public University and people alway protesting when they asked to pay tution fees, now we have private universities who now charges high fees, yet people are paying, the same with the issue of free health which we want in our General Hospitals, now our hospitals are run down and people are dying cheaply because there is no drug or Doctors have been leaving for abroad. The same people will go to private hospital and pay whatever they are asked to pay to get the same treatment. Good quality life cost money and not free. It is not cheap to live in UK or US or Canada, people worked hard and pay for it. Only one thing we need to do in our country, tackle corruption. If the toll collected in all toll gates in Nigeria are not stolen, then roads like Lagos -Ibadan would have been completed by now, the same with other road. Nigerian want good thing but don't want to pay for them

Lol. Who is advising these people sef?

Definitely not meant for the common man.

Let them and their families be entering the train o. I know Nigerians very well, no one will leave bus of 1k to go and be eneterig train of 3k or 6k.

I thought they will even say 5hunds.
Amechi and Co, continue.

Wait until they import bandits to Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

I suspect by the time the train service starts, kidnapping on that road will increase so people will be forced to use the expensive train. All na marketing strategy

Loans brother, loans in dollars. Debts must be paid in full and you certainly donot expect me who will never ride that train to shoulder the cost.

grin What is wrong with you folks. You shout train!, train!, we want train! eh. Now Nigeria has mortgaged the future of her children's children to give you train. Billions of dollars in debt and you want to be paying 500 naira....one miserable dollar.

How much of one dollar will buy diesel, how much will pay staff, how much will pay for maintenance....how much will start paying debt. You folks better get real. If you are all too poor to go by train then there is no hope whatsoever of development.... kai, this is serious.

Has this become a white elephant already...kai...kai....were there no economists involved in the planning...?

This has been my annoying but absolutely true assertion that the airline business is non functional in Nigeria. It is this exact reason why airlines donot survive here.

Poverty. Poverty. Poverty.

The endgame of this train service is that it will either operate almost empty and fold up soon or it will reduce prices to attract passengers and run at a loss....meaning subsidies...meaning another NNPC refinery drama in time to come.

Has anyone asked what happened to the old Nigeria Railway Corporation....how it all ended...because trains did not just start running in Nigeria in 2016. I grew up running trains to grade school and we used them to journey for our annual military exercises.
