Hello Mokenn,

AirBnB might be your easiest option oh for accommodation, plus my friends who have used it said it's cheaper and better.

Safe journey and all the best...

Hello house, does a Nigerian require a transit visa when having a layover of 8 hours at Amsterdam (Schiphol) airport please? I'm looking at booking my flight to Toronto with KLM.

No you don’t need a transit visa...
KLM is a very good airline but it’s quite on the high side (pricey) right now tho

No you don't need a transit visa if that is your only stop on KLM/Airfrance.

However, if you are stopping over in 2 Schengen countries (on the same trip) or in the USA, you need a transit visa. I learned the 2 countries thing first hand at the airport in 2011. I had to buy another ticket at MMA in Lagos, that showed my direct connection from Frankfurt to Montreal (instead of Frankfurt to Albania to Montreal), before they could allow me board.

The longer flight schedule or many stopovers often are cheaper compared to direct flights but don't fall into the trap where you will learn at the last minute that a transit visa is required for the seemingly cheaper routes.

It will end in praise!

Thanks! Yeah, you are right, its a little more expensive than others but gives a shorter travel time on air.

This is not new. It has been this way for a while. Although, they don’t ask for it many times, one should have it incase they ask. The bank statement should be recent, less than 30 days old.

Best wishes

For those that have made travel plans, Is it true that IRCC now requires that we show proof of funds at the point of entry? Please see the information in the screenshot below from UBC, looks like we have to provide the banks statement that we used to apply and a new one, how true is this?
I also saw similar information on IRCC(second snapshot) but IRCC just says “you must show proof of funds” they did not request for 30days statement or any specifics. My question is : will it be sufficient to show them the same bank stmt that i submitted when i applied?

For IELTS Academic, clear your mind for the listening part and listen attentively. Mark your answer on the question paper if you are going paper route, you will be given time to transfer to answer sheet. If CBT, then clear your mind, listen follow instructions, particularly those that have to do with answering with not more than one or two words and answer away.

For reading, academics have very long passages, learn the act of glancing through. Go through the questions first, then look for the answers within the passage. You don't have much time, so you need to be fast. Follow all instructions as regards answering the questions. Your answer should be based on what's in the passage. Practice as many reading test before your test.

For writing, you will have two to three passages, one having to do with analysis of tables, figures, charts etc and the other essay on agreement or disagreement of the given topics. Make sure you have enough point. Meet up with the word limit, never below. Your grammar, punctuation, and words like however, similarly, in addition, although....etc will be checked. Then there are acceptable ways of concluding your essay.

For speaking, you will be asked to speak on a topic. It comes in two phases. General discussion and a specific. Have a good line of thought. Best you're stopped then for you not meeting the right time. Check Barron IELTS book and also IELTS.ng on Facebook they had series of webinars earlier in the year and they were really helpful.

All in all, understanding everything IELTS will help you pass. I read even upto the marking scheme, which was helpful. There are information on how to answer questions on the resources I shared. Use your google search as well. I used MOD and I won a free writing assessment (I was given some topics to write on and was assessed by MOD), it really helped. Be time conscious! Follow instructions! I wish you all the best.

It defers for every school. Your school should have it on their student portal where you can download it as a file. If not, you can mail the school to request it provided you’ve paid at least a semester fee. I downloaded mine from my student account page.

Enrollment letter is basically a confirmation of your course schedule for the first semester.
You must have paid your fees (atleast first semester complete) before you can be issued a confirmation of enrollment letter.
Kindly contact your school for it, or if your school has a student portal try and check through.
I already have mine.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Blavkmaann: 2:50pm On Dec 06, 2020
My guy, what of people like us, my course adviser advised I don’t pay any tuition fee until I get to school. She’s said that the tuition will defer based on the courses I’ll be doing and until she enrolls me for those classes i can’t Know the exact fees.

Abeg i go still need the enrollment letter ontop this one?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Japh11: 3:11pm On Dec 06, 2020
It's no problem bro, just send her an email tell her you need a letter from the school to show that you are a full graduate student enrolled for the next session, that was how mine was drafted I haven't even for the next session yet.
