You are right, the same thing applies.
Why buy big airlines when your people can barely feed. Why not build an industrial park and fit it with machines and then train people as artisans to work and produce there, makinv money for themselves?

Why not build standard hospitals across the state that will be affordable to most, rather than build one that rarely gets to be used because the people you built it for cannot afford it?

Why build a 5star hotel in a state where 90% complain of having to pay 5-10k for an hotel?

Its the same thing, we do things that will make people see us as well to do, when rather the reality ob ground is abysmal. You build from the ground up, not from up to the ground

Mkpo ndok! grin

But you're right with your post. More need to be done, strategically.

Maybe they won’t be able to loot easily if they do that, and the masses don’t know well enough to make the leaders looters do the right thing

we had airlines that flew to akwa ibom, i had flown to lagos and back, we had a working airport... The question is, did we have a need for an airline? Did we have the market for it? How many people do fly the ibom airlibe on a daily?

Business is different from sentiment
.
They created the atmosphere and the need, I can get to Lagos b4 8am and be back same day unlike before, they aren't just focus on Uyo Lagos or Uyo Abuja route so the market they are now operating is a plus.
Working airport is not working airline, no sentiment attached here

What vision is there, Ibom air is jus free transport for the elite,Aks has highest unemployment rate in nigeria,

The next time there is protest the poor may go there and burn it down, because they know that it serves only the rich elite, same way with 5star hotel

Just flew in and out of Abuja with Ibom Air.
Their timeliness is top.
Services perfect
Comfort good.
Although the planes are a little smaller and you may not have where to keep your big hand luggage, I must confess it is one of the best flying experiences in 9ja aviation.

I told the crew as I stepped down from the craft that I will surely fly Ibom again and I will surely do.

It is a pity that you would use this platform to spew outright lies, especially when it is obvious you know nothing about Ibom Air.

Mention one "rich elite" that flies Ibom Air for free. Do you know how many Akwa Ibom families, Nigerian citizens are benefitting from the existence of this airline? Do you know how many families in other states are benefitting from the employment generated by Ibom Air's expansion to other routes outside Akwa Ibom where they operate from? Do you think the 7.2b generated in the write up above came about from flying your "rich elites" for free? Stop displaying your crass stupidity. It stinks.

Ikor ukod.
7.2b for paper.
Same Ibom air they are budgeting 2b for servicing.

You dont get it do you?
There where airlines flying theses routes, arik air, which i flew in on good occasions, there was not an immediate need like that of a need for ibom seaport.

Why not use the funds to develop other sectors to make akwa ibom a destination and not jus a road or airport, or airline to pass through to calabar or aba?

No possible! An airline with 6 CRJ Bombardier cannot be managed by 50 people as you put it here.

At least 200 people would be employed by the airline.

I may have underestimatef it, but the airline is small, snd 3 hostess can run 1 comfortably, 3 time 6, (we fly just two route mostly currently, so the 3×6 is an over estimation, 2 pilots each 2×6 (we operate 2-3 mostly on a daily bases so the 2×6 currently is an oversestimation..

Then what else, the management team, is a one team thats always on standby to service anyone that lands..

Akwa ibom had an Airport thanks to Godswil Akpabio, which employs a large amount of people quite alright,

Nigeria would be great again. Arik would get on to 3million

Which Arik?

I hope you are not their staff. Those guys so frustrated me that i abandoned all my pre-booked tickets and vowed never to fly them again after my meetings commenced and ended severally at the business locations and Arik is still on ground in Lagos with no announcements of operational challenges and delays. They just cancel as if it is normal to do just so, I won't fly them if they are the only aircraft to fly.

I would have argued with you because He has very good publicity but since you're an indigene, I believe you know better. Although Apart from the airline, I've read so many impressive things about how he's running the government.

U mean those menial jobs at the Airport are also for the elites..?
Are you also saying the elites also undertake those menials jobs at those factories..?
Many people are suffering in Naija today because of successive emergence of many incompetent leaders over the years and not Udom Emmanuel.

Again many Nigerians are complicating matters by indulging in unnecessary things.
Examples are

1. Why plan a big burial for a late dad when the same family has many jobless people.
Why litter his burial with money when he never tasted wealth while alive.?

2. Why give birth to the number kids, you know you won't manage properly...?
Why have purposeless erections..?
Why recycle poverty...?
Even the United States President don't manufacture kids like African leaders do despite having a robust economy..

3. Why settle for someone that won't add value to your life in marriage..?
Why..?
.... and many more reasons.
You sound intelligent than the idiot you are quoting..

Stop talking ignorantly. Should any of their aircraft develop a technical problem outside Akwa ibom Int'l Airport, maybe say, Lagos, Abuja, you mean they will fly it just like that or carry it like that on your head to Uyo and store in their hanger for repairs?

Even in that Uyo airport, they pay technical staff, procure tools and equipments for repair works, they carry out periodic maintenance of the facility and these don't come cheap.
