Poseidon000:I absofvckinglutely agree with u 100%,everything you typed is exactly my views on feminism, really dont know what my gender is fighting for anymore when we got it easy than previous generations,to me feminism in Nigeria is just a bunch gay women advocating for the rights to Bleep themselves, nothing more(they're just bunch of misandrists). there are strong African women already making a difference and impacting the world and they still believe in the hierarchy of things, where the man is always the head. eg of such women is ngozi iweala, and many other extraordinary Nigerian women who don't have to rant, fight and hate men before achieving big things. Respect should be reciprocal,if the female gender strives for respect from the male folk, she needs to dish out that respect first to earn it back but if the man refuses to return the respect then to hell with him. The line between misandry and feminism is fading rapidly in the Nigerian society,we now interchange them. I believe and will always believe that relationships and marriage is team work, everybody got their part to play,a healthy and strong relationship needs balance if not it won't go well and move smoothly, couples need to balance each other, play their parts and also fill out the areas where their partners are lacking, but everyone wants to form right, nobody wants to calm down for the other. feminism was a good thing that helped women fight for their rights, the previous generations fought the battle and they won,we're now living off their victory,we now do things they weren't privileged to do,we got it all,so what else do feminists need? 3 Likes |

I'm seriously bothered with the recent trend I'm seeing globally, especially with progressive societies like new Zealand ,Iceland and some Democrat states in the US like Massachusetts who want recently strengthen their abortion law to permit late stage abortion all under the guise of advancing gender equality and feminism, I'm OK with women participating in Societal activities that they were traditionally excluded from before like voting, holding political positions ,joining the military ,holding executive positions, receiving education equal opportunities and equal, right for everyone to be treated equally before the law, even there are strong affirmative action policies to encourage women to play pivotal roles in society, even women attain heights by their own merit ,intelligence and hardwork for what ever they set to accomplish these 21st century . My problem is with third wave feminism who are now playing the women systematical oppression via patriarchy,Queerness and non binary I.e genderless card, and abortion. In the case of patriarchy and LQBTQ (or genderless) I see it has a fight against nature and biological scientific evidence of human evolution under the guise of the bringing equality and removing traditional restrictions on women the feminist political ideologies want to redefine biological gender roles in the society ,women roles like nurturing ,empathy, caring for their husbands, and fellow other colleagues in the society (men and women both) are now seen as weaknesses on the part of women ,the institutions of marriage ,family ,raising children are now considered obsolete and patriarchal, like for real, they say these is a sociopolitical movement that is evolving to improve women right, currently since the 19th century feminism is on its fifth wave. |

Not the men here actually certifying first and second wave feminism! What da’ heck?? The men of those generations hated feminism and were against it. These posters clearly show that feminism has never been accepted or seen as good in any generation. The women were fighting for (basic) rights like we are now, yet men in the past thought feminism was going to destroy the world. And these pics certainly prove, more than anything else, the importance of damning males' validation and opinions. (Imagine the pick-mes of those eras). Why? Just like the men now are saying earlier feminists did good by fighting for women's rights,—the benefits that they are able to gauge (in retrospect)—the next generations (of men) will come to see the third wave as progressive compared to the ninth or tenth wave of feminism that'll probably be in place then. Imagine if the first wave feminists had quitted, on the ground that "feminism is not useful." |

The world is developing, people are becoming more enlightened and learned. With or without those feminists, these rights would have come to be! Men has always been magnanimous. Women treat fellow women far worse than men treat women. The major thing limiting the wickedness of some women is lack of physical strength. This point is buttress by how madam treats maids or female employees Magnoliaa: 2 Likes |

Lazycyndy:They asked for the right to cast votes at a time when men had to EARN that right by registering for the draft—-you know, by being ready to die for their country during times of war. What was ridiculous was not the fact that the women couldn’t vote. It was the fact that draft registration was never made a prerequisite for granting them sufferage. Quite different from the mythical stories about a patriarchal conspiracy you are often told. 1 Like |

Lazycyndy:I don’t know if you’re West African or even Yoruba like myself, but the claim that PRE-COLONIAL West African women were subjugated, stripped of authority, exluded from leadership positions or any form of significant activity—-as presented after integration with Western civilization and our adoption of their sociological theories—-is strongly contested in scholarly circles, and for very legitimate reasons too. It is, for the most part, an historical and sociological legend. The “subjugated woman” archetype, an inheritance of the East and the West, and almost alien to Africa, refers here in historical West Africa to a kind of woman that never existed. Propagating jagbajantis theories does not make them true in the slightest. |
